I worked in the printing business for 34 years. Started as a hot metal compositor (placing single metal characters in what was known as a stick) you will see these in museums now, not many of us left now I think????Then moved on to was called a paste up artist, (producing magazines and books) this was placing film on another slightly thicker piece of film (the end product was a positive or negative piece of film) My next step was Desk Top Publishing (mostly magazines) the ladies on this site may have heard of them, Living, She, Options, Women's Realm etc. Planner/Platemaker was my final step (similar to Paste up Artist) producing 32/64 pages in Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow of thin aluminium which wraps around the rollers of the Printing Press

I would not call friends, have some but many acquaintances, have friends from my home country who have also moved to Thailand. I did not come to Thailand to make new western friends

The way I look at it is that it has been proven that being vaccinated reduces the chances of you going into hospital if you have the virus (my relatives and friends in the UK recovered at home) so that keeps a bed free for more urgent cases

15%!
Yes. Sometimes it increases 30% per year, another year it goes down 15%, once it went down 40%, another it increased 50%. JMHO (not expert) ethical funds are the way to go

I do this frequently and never have the problem you describe. Does it happen to you often? At the same shop? With the same staff member? How odd!
Normally I ask the cashier if this will help usually they say yes

I am exactly sure how WISE works, but I hesitate to add yet another account/contact for my financial info, with accompanying additional security and hassle worries and monitoring/maintenance. I don't know if I am justified to worry about this?
It is very easy, register, enter the amount you want to send, they calculate, then just transfer to wise instead of Bangkok Bank, pretty sure you will get a better rate

I just go to a smart lab yearly, not fool proof but it gives a warning if the blood test results are abnormal, ie PSA, colon, etc.

Yet we all know that killers here walk free within just a few years while someone who used drugs can be in for life. However would a farang been the killer; 20-30 years behind bars.
This country start to disgust me more and more. If I only could bring my child abroad, i'd been gone.
Thailand has its faults, like every other country in the world including yours I am sure, for me living in Thailand has more + than - the day that changes I would reconsider but for now there is only one winner

That accounts for the lack of elephants up there.......
They do not shoot them, only fire in the air, if they come too close to the camp site

If the elephants are destroying the villagers' source of income, then it's understandable that they would feel it's either the elephants or them. Easy to be judgemental and then go to a nice restaurant for a meal.
Easy for people and wildlife to live in harmony, on the top of Phukradeung they have rangers to keep the wildlife in check

Both my parents, who lived into their 90s ended up in care homes in the UK (there was no other option) I found it the most heart wrenching period of my life, leaving them there after my visits and swore to myself that I would never end up in them

And zero facts to back up your boisterous claim.
Ridiculous. A majority? Because you said so?
Truth is backed by fact, not wild speculation.
How many women live in all of Isaan? Go ahead and look it up because you have no idea.
So there is no way you can make a claim of a majority of anything.
I think I caught a big fish here????????

I do feel accepted in the small city where I live, being part of the community helps but I have noticed a few unfriendly glances since covid19 reared its ugly head, particularly in the beginning
-
Not sure about that, majority of Issaan women are totally influenced by money and many have husbands and boyfriends and I am including Nurses and Teachers here. I have been coming to Issaan/lived here for 24 years. I am not bitter, just speaking the truth, I would not change where I live

It's not the "result of the two-year long COVID-19 pandemic". It's the result of a govt whose first responsibility is to itself.
Governments all the same the world over

Does not make any difference to me, I rarely frequent bars nowadays, done the whole bar scene, sick of drinking Thai beer, now if Guiness was available that would be different ????
