  1. I know quite a few Brits who are on the fiddle living in Thailand regarding their state pensions
  2. Throughout the world it is the way dogs are brought up/cared for, I speak from experience having had my own dog grooming business
  3. Personally I think it is when the owner is close by
  4. Never had it that bad riding my bicycle!! Friend of mine prepares a little food in a bag and just throws it on the ground, eventually they get used to you. I personally shout at the dog in a loud voice
  5. What do you need to take. Can you post it to them?
  6. I live in Issaan and was told by another Thai that people from Bangkok are buying land, which is forcing the price up
  7. Drinking my Guinness in Issaan, more fool you if you choose to live your life in Tourist cities/towns
  8. The Guinness is just as good and cheaper. 150baht for fried rice!! They have seen you coming. If I want to be a cheap Charlie I can eat for 50 baht with toppings. Western food if you know where to go 170-250 baht, every bit has good as you can get back in blighty
  9. I have half a ream of signed paperwork by the Tessabarn to say if my wife dies before me they can't kick me out of the house also the yearly tax on my house is my name solely on the property (not the land)
  10. This year will be interesting, mine is nearly 5 years old but they did visit my home last year
  11. As far as I am aware it's permanently valid unless you go out of the country or move address
  12. Everyone pays for sex, everywhere. If you don't take your wife girlfriend out for meal, buy here presents you don't get your end away. FACT
  13. Rarely go to bars nowadays but if I do, I just say to lady would you like a drink or a 100 Baht to sit and talk to me for a while. Win, Win lady always says 100 baht. Two reasons for her money straight away and more money for her
  14. No doubt some on here will be disappointed that she wasn't British
  15. I never give a tip for bad food/service at restaurant. Why would you? By the way I had a business in the UK
  16. Personally speaking as a British, I firmly believe in that is where you are/were brought up in your own country has lot today with your attitude. People from major/inner cities are completely different to people brought up in rural communities (whichever country that is) JMHO
  17. I only have a problem with people from a certain country (European) and it certainly is not the British
  18. If the service is good, I tip. With the cashless society on the horizon, tipping could well become the thing of the past
  19. In my honest opinion it is just a shifting of wealth. I suggested this on a forum in my local paper in the UK. I was ridiculed for this
  20. It is the same in the city I live which is also non touristy. Majority of people who live in Phuket/Pattaya only know about life there. If people want to know about real Thai life then you will not find it in those places
  21. Many places. Lotus, 7-11, Big C, Global. I have been chatted up by girls in all these
