  1. In truth the departure of Johnson did bring about the end of the UK’s divergence from Europe. The Windsor Framework put an end to the anti - EU antagonism that characterized Johnson’s tenure and was only very feebly opposed by the ERG. There is not going to be a bonfire of the 4000 so called ‘EU laws and regulations’. BREXIT has passed its zenith, the walk back has begun.
  2. The Parliamentary vote on the findings of the Committee’s report takes place next Monday. Ironically, Johnson’s birthday.
  3. That doesn’t surprise me in the least. I’ll go with the actual Commons Committee Report.
  4. ‘The least amount of regulation’. How many times does that need to be demonstrated as dangerous folly?
  5. And yet public opinion consistently turning against Brexit. Even Farage says Brexit has failed.
  6. You can disagree all you like, but you need to provide evidence of claims you make.
  7. I’m not sure what you mean by “those of YOUR size” Perhaps a baseless personal attack, and so soon already.
  8. It’s a very good reason to understand precisely what fascism is and the means by which the Nazis came to power and ‘justified’ their atrocities. We know the methods and means of the Nazis, and people very rightly call out these when they show up in modern political discourse.
  9. You thought wrong. Seat sizes and seat spacing have gotten smaller, while at the same time average sizes and heights of people have increased. Seat sizes are set to get smaller still. People in this thread who claim to have flown regularly over many rears have either mysteriously not noticed seat sizes and spacing shrinking or are choosing to ignore it as a contributing factor to passengers becoming (don’t laugh) ‘the victim’ of other people’s obesity. But you are correct ‘Cattle Class’, airlines are making a choice here. Their profits over your comfort, so go ahead blame other passengers, you know it makes sense.
  10. Perhaps the airlines should be installing seats that fit their passengers rather than continually reducing seat size and spacing: https://www.wral.com/amp/20555439/ But poor you being ‘the victim of somebody else’s obesity’. Regardless of whether it ever really happened, it’s such a bizarre addition to your sense of grievance.
  11. Somebody else who hasn’t yet grasped or refuses to grasp the purpose and findings of the inquiry. The inquiry was not looking into Johnson’s attendance at lockdown parties, it was examining his statements to parliament about his attendance at lockdown parties. Johnson lied to Parliament, as stated, “He knowingly, deliberately and continuously lied to Parliament”
  12. It might be an idea to wait for the outcome of the COVID inquiry before banging on about what was the correct/incorrect response. And quit with the ‘for eating cake’ gaslighting already.
  13. He’s a great witness, I’ll give you that.
  14. In plain English, “He knowingly, deliberately and continuously lied to Parliament” No surprises there. Let’s have no more objections to members calling Johnson a liar, or even an habitual liar.
  15. Firstly let me answer your whataboutary question: Because the rules applied at the time Starmer had his beer were different. Now let me explain something you seem not to have grasped, or are refusing to grasp: The inquiry Johnson is whinging and whining about is not an inquiry into his attendance at parties and social gatherings in contravention with laws and regulations in place at the time. It’s an inquiry into his lies to parliament regarding his attendance at parties and social gatherings in contravention with laws and regulations in place at the time. Starmer did not break any laws or regulations and he did not lie to Parliament. Johnson did break laws and regulations and he repeatedly lied to Parliament.
  16. ‘Eating cake on his birthday’ = Johnson excuser speak for breaking COVID laws and regulations at a time when ordinary people in the UK were being arrested, fined for doing likewise and when families were denied visitation to dying relatives or to even attend funerals of lost family members. Of course he lied to Parliament about that, he can’t stomach being questioned, let alone held to account for his own actions.
  17. The issue is Johnson’s response to being held account for lying to Parliament, by a majority Tory committee, empaneled by a Tory Government.
