  1. I’m not shouting at you. I’ve listened to your argument and made a reasoned counter argument. Is that a problem? Perhaps you are referring the multiple personal attacks I’ve had to put up with from rightwing members in this discussion (and others).
  2. That threat news. Trump will be able to log into his eBay account and show his purchase history to the FBI. What a great “knock down the prosecution” defense that is going to be.
  3. I’m sure you’d love the DOJ to arrest him before a Grand Jury has passed down an indictment. Trump is at this moment in time trying to delay the investigation by requesting a ‘Special Master’ to review the evidence against him. While the judge he submitted his request to (a judge he appointed) suggested she might rule in his favour, she’s done little other than give the FBI the opportunity to place before the public damming evidence of Trump’s crimes. Trump is trying to delay the investigation, the DOJ are clearly way ahead of where the public (or Trump) know them to be. Be patient, Trump is on indictment watch, Justice is coming.
  4. I think unproven allegation is the correct term.
  5. You’ve been saying that for how long? The technology and economics of renewable energy has changed n their favor dramatically in the past ten years, even in the past 5 years and is accelerating.
  6. Actually he wasn’t from an era when people could ‘talk about things’. There were a number of topics that could not be openly discussed at the time without fear of reprisals, losing your job or perhaps criminal prosecution. Beyond those issues he lived at a time when people, particularly women, were unable to openly discuss health issues with their own doctor, this was challenged and changed by individuals who did have a public platform, mainly women, bravely speaking out about serious health matters. People suffered illness and abuse in silence, people ‘knew their place’. At the time Powell was speaking very many people were unable to speak up. The reaction of the rightwing and the rightwing press was to try to shut these people up when they did so. So quit with this nonsense that at the time the Racist Powell was speaking ‘people could actually talk about things. It’s demonstrable hogwash. The deference shown the Racist Powell was all part and parcel of the same problem. There were the few who could speak, and the masses who could not.
  7. You’ll need to demonstrate that link. But yes, I’m quite sure this failing Government would like voters to believe their failures are all down to immigration. The most on topic failure of this 12 year old Government is of course the failure to control immigration, despite having destroyed the economy, ostensibly to get back control of the UK’s borders. So go ahead, trot out the old favorite rightwing excuse - scapegoat immigrants. It doesn’t solve anything but I’m sure it helps you to clear the bile.
  8. The X-Files has a lot to answer for.
  9. I’ve said from the start, it’s not simply that Trump stole these documents, the far more serious threat is who got to see them. Trump’s criminality is a matter for a Grand Jury and a trial, who got to see these documents is a matter of grave concern for the security of the United States.
  10. Renewable energy is the future, don’t let fossil fuel shills tell you otherwise.
  11. Not just Green Parties. Ronald Reagan also warned of the dangers of relying on Russia for energy.
  12. Tell us the one about your ancestors entering the US via Ellis Island but not being immigrants again. I really enjoyed that one.
  13. And even though it’s over a hundred years ago, respect to your grandfather’s service. But then there was this: https://www.aclu.org/news/immigrants-rights/they-were-willing-to-make-the-ultimate-sacrifice-for-the-u-s-but-trump-wont-let-them-become-americans
  14. Actually what he’s done is expose the foolishness of relying on imported energy and on an energy source that is impacted by manipulated commodity price shifts. Its a very good argument in favor of in-country renewable energy.
  15. He’s lucky he wasn’t shot dead, happens often to people who violently assault officers who are on duty. As a former serving police officer he has no excuse for not knowing the seriousness of his unlawful actions.
  16. Have you considered jumping straight to the ‘those other people’ who attacked the Capitol were insane defense, because that’s where your arguments are heading?!
  17. Violent overthrow in response to believing lies is not a legitimate response. The legitimate response was to present the case for election fraud to the courts. That was tried over 60 times in front of over 60 judges and was kicked out every single time. There was no legitimate reason to attack the Capitol, Give it up already, Trump lost.
  18. And Putin needs to keep money flowing into the pockets of those propping him up.
  19. ’If you understand the philosophy of governance’. Under the circumstances of the subject crimes I cannot think of any more inappropriate argument. If you understand the philosophy of governance you abide by the results of elections and you don’t attack the Capitol in an attempt to stop the certification of the election result just because your guy lost by millions of votes. Give it up already, Trump lost.
  20. Another claim to be neutral with ‘both-siding’ it. There are only two sides, right, constitutional, legal and democratic v mob violence, lies and treachery. The election was fair, there was no significant voter fraud, no votes disappeared, no votes conjured out of thin air - Trump lost.
  21. If, after over 60 court hearings rule no election fraud you still believe there is election fraud you have left the realms of rationality. The election was not stolen.
  22. That was an awfully fortuitous conversation you had all those years ago, but just as well you remembered it when it would come in handy. Well done you.
  23. If you swear an oath to uphold the constitution, the rule of law and defend America against all enemies foreign and domestic, then attack the Capitol in an attempt to halt the certification of an election and the peaceful transition of power you are not a Patriot. Away with you and your justification of Federal Crimes.
  24. No, again I refuse to be baited by you into breaking forum rules.
  25. Whether or not you are a racist is irrelevant to the topic of discussion, and calling you a racist would be in clear breach of the Forum’s rules - I have repeatedly stated I draw the line at calling other forum members racists. So you solicit an irrelevant answer that may me precluded by the forum rules - I’m no dumb enough to walk into such an obvious trap. The topic of discussion is not ‘laws enacted as a result of Enoch Powell’s racist views’, your question is an obvious strawman, feel free to play such games by yourself.
