OK...but my original question is still WHY??? Is the requirement B800,000 "seasoned" in a Thai bank account for 3 months or is the law/rule/requirement that there also be activity on the seasoned B800,000 account?

IMO...I've already summed it up, which isn't difficult. Ridiculous random rules by random offices in the Land Of Ridiculously Random. ????

To put a sharper edge to it, regarding using an agent to obtain extension based on money in bank or 65k income, is legal or illegal. So if I use an agent (personally I don't) pay my 15-20k baht or whatever, where would someone stand? As mentioned in my post, there are companies advertising this service very publicly. Thaivisa platform included. I guess what I'm interested in....is the extension stamp someone obtains using an agent, valid, legit, whatever you call it. Anticipating the members jumping in with comments such as...its fake and illegal, etc. Then how is it I know folk that have used agent and down the track applied for reentry permit (without using agent) and obtained one no problem. I would have imagined this is a simple question. Apparently not. This post is not sidetracking thread. As many threads running on similar questions in light of some embassies changes to "letter".

    Members opinions sought.

Same stamp everybody else gets, + in the computer.

You have to go and have your photo taken at the local office by an IO

The stamp is legit, otherwise how could you go out of the country ? or get a re-entry, or do a 90day report,

So the bank supplies information to show how much money is in the account and how long it has been there. If the IO uses that information supplied by the bank to confirm enough money has been in the account for the required length of time I called that by its most commonly used name............. seasoning, whether the bank actually uses that word in its letter or not it has confirmed the requirement.

If however, an agent has bribed a bank employee to supply an inaccurate and untruthful letter in order to give the impression the expat meets the financial requirements when in fact he doesn't that's illegal and fraudulent. The agent, bank employee and the expat are all part of that conspiracy.

The agent does not bribe the bank employee.

The letter and statement and bankbook  show 800k on that day

The letter and statement is accurate and truthful,

The 3 mths is waived by the IO

Bit unrelated, but as I read many posts debating the legality of "using an agent" I have a little smile as I see many adds at top of threads, along the lines..."extensions no 800k required in bank no 65k income required". Indeed if this practice is sooo illegal how can the companies/agents use such open platforms..

Indeed,,  this is an ad from the agency at soi 5.  jomtien   [allegedly]395088596_ScreenShot2018-11-29at21_25_34.png.e5d5b70902d9deaff30b084b31b26371.png

I'm in the process of starting the ball rolling converting a METV to Non O "A" and I was given a price of 38k to do it from a certain visa agent which I wont name as it's all new to me and I wouldnt intentionally damage anyone's rep.

I thought it was a bit steep but then I thought it was the going rate as there's the 800k that they will assist with. I have the money plus approx 275k per month income but I'm reluctant to have that money sitting in my K Bank account so they'll sort that and maybe next year I'll do it.

I also got told by a bloke that there's a small place opposite Sweethearts that will do the same for around 14k.

It's all a bit confusing as I always leant towards if sounds too cheap then it may be dodgier than the dearer ones.

Who knows. More homework for me I guess.

go to the one opposite sweethearts,  cheap ,efficient and well established

Someone posted a 40K offer from there, if I recall correctly - but I perhaps it was for non-o stamp plus marriage-based extension.  That would be 2 "difficult desks" in a row, which would cost more to get through the system.

The retirement-desk in Jomtien is easy-going - probably because they have massive volume, so do not request as much 'extra', per agent-submitted application.

re: jomtien,     yes,,   correct, massive volume from all over the country,

    economies of scale,

cambodia-inter 15 mth,,   the cheapest in patts @21,500 for 15 mth,

looking forward to extra business in 6 mths time

the married ppls over 50  go for retirement visa,  easy, hassle free ,no hoops @ 12,900

was at cambodia-inter today.   they don't do verification, never heard of it,,,  fake news IMHO

The same shop has offered relatively high rates for other things.  They can get your "Non-O stamp" done, etc.

I'm not sure why immigration would accept something that pays them less than the usual "agent sponsored" extension - but maybe they are creating a "middle-ground" for those who actually have the valid income, but will be locked-out of using it by the embassy-letter issue.

The Soi Bukow prices are usually reported as the lowest, but leeway to shave off the retail-price depends on how much of that quoted 10K must be passed to immigration in a brown-envelope.

exempt or tourist visa,  convert to non-o then retirement, [15 mths stamp] 21,500.

tick tock charges 25k for the same.

retirement only 12,900.  or 15k @ tick tock

I will check about this new service,  good news if it exists,

Yes, i do. Had a 2017 Macbook Pro. After 1 or 2 months the problems started, keys sometimes felt "stange" but could usually be solved by "massaging" the keys. After about 5 months one key was defective, when pressing it it sometimes caused 2 key strokes. Apple had to replace the upper part of the Macbook (including Battery and Touchpad, so imagine what this costs if it happens out of warranty), the shop said they have to keep the Laptop for 5 days to repair it. I couldn't wait 5 days without a Laptop. Bought a Lenovo Laptop (which does come with on-site warranty), got the Macbook fixed and then got rid of it, now using the Lenovo.

That Apple is doing this with a Laptop for 100k THB is just a joke. Especially not fixing this problem and releasing a new model with the same faulty keyboard.

2017,,   old hat,, faulty keyboards,,  class action lawsuits,,  superseded,  now intel coffee lake,,,   and no faulty keyboards

    100k is for the i-7 -  512 gb 15 inch.

13 inch macbook pro 8th gen' processor =65,900

      15''.  i-7  256 gb= 85,900

Max the 15'' out,   i-9 etc ,,,   258,300.00 bt.    really sick

Why would anyone buy a Laptop that comes with a flawed keyboard?

OP asked if the 2018 macbook pro is available in bangkok,,

The 2018 macbook pro does not have a flawed key board,,  it's generation 3,,     it's been fixed.  won't be any different in sept,,,

The rest of the range will get the same gen' 3 keyboard [probably]

Wow Pattaya expensive. The one I use in Chiang Mai is 7500 for retirement extension and includes 4 x 90 day reports.

Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Sorry,    should have said 12,900 for retirement visa no funds .

Or 7000 for retirement visa if you provide the funds , bank letter

    + 800 for  4  90 day reports

Visa exempt  to non-o to retirement visa =21,000

Tourist visa to non-0 to retirement visa 21,000
