not sure if I am allowed to mention it. schools that don't require attendance do still exist, certainly in bangkok. they cost more than normal as they forge your attendance so it is illegal, but they do exist.

why not just attend a school and learn thai since it's not a weird and chinesy language? most only do part time hours anyway.

that aside you are looking at border runs to stay here longer term.

Pattaya same,  extra  3K every 90 days.

I think they would rather do something else.

ED  1 year visa  easiest for under 50's  only circa 15k in pattaya

I have used KV's service and the numbers being quoted here are erroneous. For me, the service was cheaper than taking two return flights to Bankok  KV fee 5100 in addition to the cost of the passport

i paid 11,500 total ,he used his card

according to OJAS the passport costs 4,700.  a 1,300 difference if OJAS is correct

But, unless I'm missing something, it doesn't appear to add up. From Thailand a standard passport costs £118.51 (= c.4,700 THB) and a jumbo one £128.51 (= c.5,000 THB).

So, in the case of a standard passport, it should be 5,000 KV fee + 4,700 passport cost + 100 KV EMS = 9,800 THB

And, for a jumbo passport, it should be 5,000 KV fee + 5,000 passport cost + 100 KV EMS = 10,100 THB

It's not clear to me how the apparent 1,700 or 1,400 discrepancy (depending on which type of replacement passport you were seeking) has arisen. It strikes me that this was the point which @baggies666 was making in post #5 above.

Well spotted. I assumed 6,000 was for the passport.

I dropped mine off and picked it up. so should have been 9,700.

    So 1,300 in hidden fees.

Still better than doing it your self though.

Yes, and there could be a companion regulation that changes in personal circumstances re pension must be advised to the imm. folks.

But there's another slant, it seems that Big Joke and his team are trying to stop the loopholes and the fake money transfers / in bank books etc., etc.

So would they create new regulations which easily allow non observance of other regulations?

"Among the offenses being investigated are agents accepting bribes to extend stays unlawfully; violating entry and exit protocols despite knowing foreigners have no valid reasons for extending their stays; taking bribes for illegitimate entries by people with and without passports; putting in fake entry stamps to enable people to go to a third country; selling the TM 6 departure card for workers in Thailand; and charging extra fees for visas on arrival."

I'm just intrigued by the bunco artists who think that the new regs say that, as long as the overseas deposit for extension of stay purposes remains in their Thai bank account for a few milliseconds, then they can pull it out send it back to from where it came.

i think they can.    and will.      dee money. or a friends A/C..

If that fails use an agent .

Bunco artists will always find a way

If you send all or most of the money back, immigration has a legitimate reason to question how you support yourself. So it's that issue that some people rather wouldn't want to be discussing with immigration, not the (lawful) act of sending back money in itself. Pretty obvious, really.

If you send all of the money back, or some of the money back via Dee money immo' won't have a clue.

Its very easy to apply for a PP at Trendy .

You fill out the same application form in the UK as you do in Thailand and the only difference is that you either hand that form into the UK office or the  BKK office

Is it not 2 trips to Trendy ?   or do they post the passport back via EMS these days.

  9. Do what i did last Thursday,  Drop off passport at key visa pattaya, thai licence for address ,1 signature,1 photo and 11,500 bt.

Should take 3 weeks.  they also do ems.

Far easier than going back uk,  ,and cheaper
