A fellow who is terrified of water should not live at the beach.. but if he chooses to, he should not scream at everyone else to get out of the water...
you don't have to live here...
Granted but the health consequences of air pollution. in particular for children, are pretty well documented and backed by solid research. Although it may not actively bother some individuals, they are still as vulnerable as others to the damage to their health. 'Stay away' is hardly constructive advice which should rather be 'how can we reduce this serious health hazard?'

UK passport holders need a visa to travel in EU? I must have missed that story.

No they don't need a visa but from November, but iike all non-EU visa nationals, they will need an ETIAS (similar to a US visa waiver), valid for three years from November of this year. and costing 7 Euros (free for under 18s)

Now I am totally confused. The last press release said the Pattaya police visited all of the hots spots such as Walking Street and confirmed there are no sex workers. So they want to create legislation to protect sex workers who they claim don't exist lol?
Left hand - Right hand. Absence of joined up policies, similarly to many governments throughout the world.

No accomplishments, really? Repeated media reports suggest the opposite.

Presumably the vaccinations must have been within the previous X months?
The health insurance rule is risky, that may deter some tourists and will impact older expats.
Enforcement of facemasks in public places sounds almost unenforceable.
Visitors applying for a Schengen visa must have medical insurance - why not Thailand? At least it would reduce the endless requests for crowdfunding to pay the hospital fees for the uninsured.

Could be worse. Could be hordes of the usual trashy Farang.......which is least comparable to ever vigilant Chinese.
The anti-Farang sentiment requires readjusting and comprehended for what it truly is.
Yes, but at least the majority of farang will have had effective vaccinations.

Not just disappointing but inexplicable as the UK has been run by the party of economic competence for the past 12 years.

Possibly because, as I understand it, the Chinese only use Sinovac which is not very effective and not the newer MRNA vaccines produced outside china.

Stop with the fake news... Educate yourself if you don't want to become the equivalent of an American election denier.
Nothing about cannabis is illegal. Legal things can be controlled.
It's a bit sad that there is no mention of other non-medical uses of marijuana - that is to make paper or clothing, both requiring far fewer chemical or agricultural inputs.

I guess it depends if you think a mind trained 'not to think too much' is a healthy mind
However the environment created by such can give an overall relaxed appearance ????
Thank you for a very wise response. Another aspect I relaxed about living here is that Thai people in the main are not judgemental.

I "woke" up at 6.00am, how many times do I have to say it! Bloody rooster "woke" me up!!! Time the "woke" brigade "woke" up and realised this word has been around as long as English has been in existence! "Woke" is the past tense of wake!!! Get it???
But I love Rooster's weekly articles - they force me to think early in the morning - (and from you being rude about Rooster, how much I like your comment and how much I love living in Thailand)

But I thought the Thais were desperate to get the tourists coming back; will this help?

Of course illegal workers are flooding in - Thai industry is desperately short of labour - like Britain. The trick is not to stem the inevitable but to ensure decent working conditions for all. And to be fair the government has made a start on this with its agreement with the Myanmar and Cambodian governments to facilitate what the EU calls 'freedom of movement'.

Just a thought - if all the micro-brewers could create a single cooperative maybe their combined volumes under such an umbrella would be sufficient to meet the requirements of the law?

In fact the extreme left LIB/Lab/green would compound the disaster into a tragedy by punishing responsible working people and throwing out freebies like confetti at a wedding.
I'm wondering if the left are now reflecting on their harassment of Johnson for lying about having a beer with his colleagues(as did Starmer and others - and no I do not believe there is different science in London or oop north or whatever ridiculous excuse they had for Johnson drinks beer with mates = bad, Starmer drinks beer with mates = good).
Did they really get what they want?
But Corbyn isn't in the Labour Party. He lost the whip way back in November 2020.
