  1. I'd never seen those percentages before either... incredibly low compliance
  2. What's interesting about this, for me, is this is the first time I've ever seen a percent put on the size of the THA tax base. Only 30% of Thais pay PI taxes! That's wild. It's a small miracle THA can afford to pay for what infrastructure and government services they have now. Plus, given the number of government employees (including military and police), and the number of people in "above board" industries (like branded retail, large hotels education, healthcare and banking), that that 30% estimate is embarrassingly low, and a complete failure of the government's fiscal responsibility. And, it would seem that it's more than just those in the informal economy - e.g., farming, day laborers, street vendors, sole proprietorships, etc., who are not paying their PI taxes.
  3. So what? Could, should, would... Another example of pure speculation. If you are worried about this, I encourage you to hold your breath. And since expats aren't Thai citizens this NIT story is irrelevant. Next.
  4. easy choice as the form has no value

  8. What about all the firebomb CNG and LPG taxis? Let's see the DLT make a similar proclamation.
  9. And if they don't, then what? No mention of how this will be enforced to ensure compliance. In other words just another toothless bureaucratic reaction and nothing changes. TiT.
  10. Sounds like a justifiable reaction and outcome. Unwanted touching results to a bloody skull.
  11. You will never begin to end the endless parade of tragic tragedies until people like this are prosecuted to the fullest.
  12. It is parliament... trail of feces anywhere else would be more shocking.
  13. Tragic πŸ’” but the fire is baffling... When I first heard, I speculated that someone's rechargable battery caught fire creating a panic. In any event, the drive should not have fled (as reported).
  14. Friends and pals, doing friends and pal stuff... nothing like manslaughter to bring folks together.
  15. Would like to see more people refusing the playoffs from those who assault. Let the criminals face the penalties of the criminal justice system.
  16. When AseanNow chooses to put the words "world class" (in relation to Pattaya) in the actual headline it's just them trolling. The quickest way to stir up the masses is with just this kind of titling... or anything about kathoey πŸ˜‚
  17. How would social media bloggers have the slightest idea πŸ˜‚ given all the media noise around this new visa you would think 25,000 had been issued πŸ˜‚
  18. If it's too good to be true, it won't last. One thing is certain, visa rules change in Thailand like the wind.
  19. Peter Sellers did it better πŸ˜† https://www.facebook.com/share/r/rKnrAioYBgwZCZk9/?mibextid=oFDknk
  20. Implement a worldwide tax scheme on tax residents and watch that ranking plummet even more.
  21. Gossip and netizen whining and conjecture, brought to you by Asean πŸ˜‚
  22. Euthanize the owners. Just a suggestion 😜
  23. I love how Asean trolls it's followers by using terms like "world class" to describe Pattaya πŸ˜‚
