UK warns British tourists to behave in Thailand or face jail time
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It really is true then, UK citizens are a problem group (broadly speaking). Even your own government has to issue a warning 😂 which of course will be interpreted as a challenge to behave worse 😂 does this mean all the whining about Brit bashing will end (seeing as there is now confirmation of the truth by your own government). -
Pita Declares His Readiness to Succeed Srettha as Prime Minister

Pita is ready, the people are ready, but the dinosaurs who control this country aren't. -
British Man Allegedly Assaults Thai Village Manager
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Thais tend to like those foreigners more who are just plain tourist because they tend to go with the flow (even when it's against their own better judgement), and then simply leave... Long stay expats (and those here just for the partying) are a different lot... and Thais love calling them out (by nationality it seems) for their bad behavior (which there is no shortage; and a lot of it alcohol fueled)... seems certain expats/foreigners have a tendency to grow tired of the constraint frustrations associated with living in a very different (sometimes unusual) country. Makes you wonder why some choose to come/stay when it seems they might be happier else where. -
British Pensioner Struggles with Frozen Pension in Thailand
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When I said have the son escort her though the airport, I was referring to the entire trip (end to end), though to final destination. May all be moot if her condition is respiratory or heart related and it's dangerous for her to fly. -

Yeah, in a way they have only themselves to blame. Sad. -

Her son will just need to support her until she dies. Sorry to say. They waited way to long and now have no good choices. Why they waited so long allowing it to come to this is anyone's guess -
British Pensioner Struggles with Frozen Pension in Thailand

At 87 and a UK citizen, she'd be better off going back to the UK and entering into the welfare system. There's no hope hear unless she starts begging and this just not right either -
Police break up network aiding foreigners to stay in Thailand
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thais facilitate creation of nominee company... foreigners get visas, buy land/homes, run businesses... Company gets exposed as illegitimate, foreigners get deported, and Thais keep the land/property/businesses (seized assets) for themselves. It's a brilliant model... Thais get paid on both ends... Thai citizens and officials collect setup fees, and the seized assets revert back to Thailand - who can sell them a second time. But they (authorities) can't not seem to stop what they claim they don't like 🤔 because they actually like it 🤑🤑🤑 -

In a way, Thais and Russian are kindred spirits... Both are notoriously corrupt and both love a good scam. -
Red Bull Heiress Sues for Defamation Over Son’s Hit-and-Run Scandal
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Now you are just being intentionally obtuse. You have no idea what you are talking about. The AGs office and the police chief (and many others) have all been implicated in a cover up. Charges against this privileged killer where even once dropped, extradition orders and red notices stalled and delayed to no affect of justice. All to ensure Jr. would NOT face justice. WAKE UP! https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40035926 https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN26Q1R7/ **** Link to the Bangkok Post removed as per forum rules **** -

Red Bull Heiress Sues for Defamation Over Son’s Hit-and-Run Scandal

No, it's only you. Only a dolt would believe that this cop killer, at large for 10 years, has not used his family's influence and privilege to escape justice. Go back to bed. -

I see. So you are under the delusion that his family had nothing to do with Jr. getting away from authorities. Got it. Wake Up! -
New Tax Rules for Expats in Thailand Spark Concern
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Significant shift 😂 Expats have ALWAYS had to pay taxes on assessable income 🥱🥱🥱 They changed (closed) one tax loophole to broaden the base, but you still only pay on assessable income. For the love of all that's holy, relax. -
New Tax Rules for Expats in Thailand Spark Concern
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Tax day is tax day. Even for the majority of all Thais who never pay any Income tax. Nothing new. Income tax has always been self reported, and still is, nothing changed (and still not linked to immigration). As with most countries, if you have no accessible income, there is nothing to file as you owe no tax. Same as it ever was. -

The lack of self awareness has reached new levels. And that's saying a lot when talking about Thailand. The man kills a cop and flees the country to evade justice. As far as I'm concern the entire red bull family can pissoff. -
Koh Samui Tourism Struggles Amid Infrastructure Challenges
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Energy and water infrastructure here is sub-par almost everywhere. And it's only going to get worse. Being crushed under the weight of poor planning and investment, and unrestrained tourist and expat growth. -
Thai Man Appeals for Help Repatriating Overstaying Russian Family

We are likely going to see a lot more of this as Thailand flings open the doors to all comers. Makes me think overstay is really not that big a concern for Thailand authorities. Reality is sometimes stranger than fiction. -
Big Thailand visa changes from June 1
Cabradelmar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Devil is in the details. Of which we have few. Let's see what 1 June produces. This all seems geared to hitting the mythical 50+ million tourist a year goal. Regardless, DTV is not a long stay visa but it will definitely have a niche. One thing is certain... everything eventually changes. Remain calm and relax. -

In fact, there needs to be more beat downs of tourist who refuse to pay their bar bill, if one tries to skate without paying. But at lease keep it real, and beat down the one who didn't pay, and if his friend(s) what some of that smoke, then beat them down too. I don't see the problem here. It's almost international protocol.
