Well it all comes down to details and how it will be administered... Previous experiences say this will be a bit of a mess.

Many of analysis are myopic. This is a global pandemic. Of course there will always be some willing travelers. But the entire world's ability to travel (due to means, or fear, or the changing nature of the destination - higher crime, price gouging, etc.) will make once desired destinations, no longer desirable. I feel for Thailand. I do. But they have put too many of their eggs into the tourism basket, and the the basket has hit the floor. Worldwide, hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues are closing up shop. It won't be a flip of a switch to bring them back. And many will never reopen. Quarantine and limiting movement once in country is a non starter. That will not attract tourist. The best idea is to test travelers for the virus before arrival (forget all the other idiotic pre/post-travel requirements/rituals). Get off this notion that zero infections is the goal. It's impossible to achieve. Otherwise, Thailand will indeed be hoisted by its own petard.

The government is more concerned about potential loss of tax revenue

The prisons are being fitted now to allow for all the tourist to "live the life"????... Or simply come stay for 9 months while being tracked in lockdown at inflated prices????... It's losing its appeal quickly????

6 October 1976. Military and right wing nationalist murdered and lynched students. People remember what happened then, and are naturally afraid it could happen again.

I might have to file a lawsuit now... ????

It's not wrong thinking. Really. When the global pandemic is declared over, would be best. I understand the economics of the tourism nightlife industry, and it is difficult. The pandemic is hard on many. But for responsible social drink and meals, the restaurant and some proper bars should open with more takeaway than table services, ideally. Thailand has done well (and maybe just lucky) preventing the virus, and things are improving. Stay vigilant and move slow (Thais are good at that anyway).

Tyson will never fight anyone, ever again. He's a boxer so any other discipline, he gets beat anyway, most likely. Maybe Dana White COULD make Tyson a $$$ UFC payday, not some Aussie in THA for 2nd tier money.

If you have a mobile and it's turned on... You are being tracked... The phone company knows. The app just makes it easier to abuse

First. There has never been a 20% mortality rate. Anywhere. Second, if they are looking at thailands data there is only one conclusion.... there is no covid problem in Thailand (if the data is wrong is another question). Third, 18 month impact is the first real truth coming out of the committee

You really have to be in awe of Thailands delusional optimism.

Less alcohol and less large gathering... That's the theory.

a medical certificate, issued no more than three days prior to their arrival,
What does this mean? A certificate from whom saying what exactly?

Yet another case of very poor reporting. Do they mean TRANSFER as in electronic transfer or do they mean EXCHANGE in that you go to a counter with your foreign currency and change it for Thai Baht? TV, it is time you started challenging some of these reports to make sure people understand the basis of what you are publishing, even if you are only copying and pasting an article!
???? The truth. Thank you!

Government to introduce “Thailand Plus” application for foreign tourists

Why anyone (without family here) would want to come to Thailand under such circumstances is beyond me.
