  1. How do you know you never caught COVID? There were many cases of COVID with no symptoms. Until you have a blood test which confirms you have no COVID antibodies in your system, you can't say you have not had COVID. If testing did show antibodies, you should buy some lottery tickets. You're obviously lucky.
  2. Given 70% of Americans are either overweight or obese, what's the BMI of your friend? Check with any health professional as to the effect of body mass on longevity.
  3. Once a year, thank you.
  4. Vapor clouds are just that, VAPOR. The average diameter of a water vapor particle is 0.3 nm. A COVID virus is 125 nm in diameter. It's not that in practice, the virus is attached to larger particles of sputum and snot, projected by coughing and sneezing. The person behind the microphone is a well-known quack. He obviously has no clue about experimental design, which makes his demonstration an exercise in stupidity.
  5. I guess hospital staff wear masks just as part of a traditional costume, then. The Sinovac vaccine was only 50% effective in preventing infection. In a large phase 3 trial in Brazil, it was found to be 100% effective in preventing serious illness or death, a finding supported in Singapore and China. I should know, it was the first jab I had. When I did get COVID, 3 days of a runny nose and sore throat with delta, the most potent version. Thanks to social media, my unvaccinated Thai GF was seriously ill for 10-11 days. Your post is another reminder I can't fix stupid.
  6. Wow, were you a CEO? What are you doing here, among the peons? What did you do to justify your own existence?
  7. The statistics on masks are as follows: An infected person is 70% less likely to infect others if wearing a mask. An uninfected person is 30% less likely to contract infection if wearing a mask. I assume you won't mind if a surgeon operates on you with no mask. The 2-3 metre rule is based on how far an infected person can project virus-laden sputum or snot by coughing or sneezing.
  8. I applaud your construction of history, designed for urine extraction. A copy of the Oldenburg stork correlation. IMO the Santa Anna winds will get much worse, when the hot air from Washington arrives over the next four years.
  9. In Australia, there is free hospital care. We pay $7.50 for most prescriptions. We have the ACCC, which protects consumers from the predatory practices of of corporations. We have the Fair Work Commission, which protects workers from unfair dismissal, or underpayment. We don't need to teach our children how to avoid getting shot in school. To me, that's progressive.
  10. Strange. I have always thought of Trump as remarkably thin-skinned, or was the title sarcasm?
  11. If you think a Santa Ana wind of 100 km/hr fits the narrative of no climate change, there's a bridge in Sydney I'd like to sell you.
  12. I asked AI the question. For Australia, most states will let temporary visitors use their home country license. Citizens will have to take out an Australian license within a certain time frame, which varies state by state.
  13. I've renewed my Thai DL twice, Australian DL was not needed.
  14. This is not natural, it's man-made. Link to your 95% assertion? Where are your academic qualifications?
  15. No. As the planet warms, AVERAGE wind speeds increase. 2011 was an outlier, there will be more of them.
  16. Obviously, you know more than the 95% of scientists who agree global warming and climate change result from anthropomorphic emissions of carbon dioxide. Please list the sources of your knowledge. Do you have a B Sc., M.Sc or Ph.D in any of the applicable fields, such as meteorology, climatology, oceanography, or thermodynamics? Or are you an acolyte of social influencers, such as Alex Jones or Jordan Peterson? What is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
  17. True, the burning is nothing new. What is different is the wind speed. The strongest Santa Ana wind speed ever recorded was in December 2011, with an average wind speed of 156 km/hr, and gusts of up to 269 km/hr. The winds of the current fire were weaker, at a mere 100 km/hr, still faster than some people drive. Given the convergence of fuel, house construction, dryness, and wind speed, there was nothing firefighters could do. Tripling staff, equipment and water supply would have ended the same way. P!ssing into the wind springs to mind. How fast does the wind need to be before people acknowledge the climate is changing? True, in this instance it's not Trump's fault. Neither is it the fault of Biden or Newsom. In the broader picture, it IS Trump's fault. He's always been a climate denier, and has the same comprehension of science as an amoeba. That will carry over into his second term.
  18. Sarcasm clearly goes over the heads of some posters.......
  19. It certainly does, which is why employees in constant contact with the public were given the choice - work vaccinated, or don't work unvaccinated. I keep my distance and don't breathe on anybody, you're safe from my imaginary shedding.
  20. There is room for argument America could put more money into Greenland than Denmark does. Having said that, Canada's debt is $1.5 trillion. The USA is $38 trillion. Any Canadians wanting to become the 51st state would have to have rocks in their head.
  21. It amazes me Americans still put up with shingles on their roofs. Quite apart from the fire risk, they have to be replaced every ten years or so. A Colorbond (TM) roof is guaranteed against perforation by rust for 36 years. Orroroo is a small town of 600 people in South Australia with a semi-arid climate. There are galvanized roofs there over 100 years old, still in good condition. I guess it comes down to tradition.
  22. It's the severity that counts, not the vaccination status. That ship has already sailed. Calling me dishonest when you display the empathy of a scorpion, that's rich.
  23. I get it, a statistical sample of one proves your case. What I don't get is information on how many COVID patients who rejected vaccination died, or suffered long COVID, after taking Ivermectin.
  24. Australian statistics showed quite clearly ICU units were 6-7 times more likely to be admitting unvaccinated COVID patients than vaccinated ones. Effectively, those patients crowded out other patients without COVID who had life-threatening conditions. Their relatives would think your selfishness, arising from your beliefs, is unbelievable. So do I.
  25. Precious metals and some shares - not all - have served me well over the years, although I only buy those listed on the ASX. My stock pick for 2025 is BHP. IMO it is undervalued, goes ex dividend early March. I have put my money where my mouth is.
