Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
You have to admit it is very convincing. Question - for what purpose? -
Britain to unleash army of hackers on Putin
Lacessit replied to bannork's topic in Political Soapbox
You seem to forget the British at Bletchley Park decrypted the German Enigma machine when everyone else failed. They can look after themselves in cyberspace. But then, forgetfulness is becoming your trademark, when you accused me of being a conspiracy theorist, and failed to post any proof of your allegation. -

I have checked the Notification and messages pages of my Centrelink account, and there is no mention of any new requirements. I will be phoning Centrelink International on Monday. -

IIRC he is a JP. Not Ronald Elliott, some one else. -

I would have thought Centrelink would be sending notifications by email, post, and on the Notifications section of their website. We all make mistakes, no need to beat yourself up. -
Why do so many posters continually diss other posters?
Lacessit replied to BritManToo's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Simon's meme reminds of the Seven Dwarfs who went to bed with Persil. Six got up snow white, and the other one got up grumpy. -

I think the OP was being sarcastic. Respect me, I give respect back. Don't. and I don't. It's not rocket science. I can't say I have seen anything in the forum rules that states I have to suffer fools gladly. -

Problem is, if it is not legit then clicking on the link may be a virus invitation. I would have thought the link would be mygov. -

Presumably I would get a letter at my Australian address. For those living overseas without any address at Centrelink, I suppose they should follow your link. The Honorary Consulate in Chiang Mai closed in 2023. I guess the only route is mail to the Bangkok embassy. -

According to the link provided by Giddyup,if you are living in Oz, you can submit documents online via the MyGov portal. If overseas, by mail only. By June 30. Or through an embassy. Another example of screwed-up bureaucracy. -

My assets, including Thai bank balances, are with Centrelink already. -
Question about obtaining bank letter from BBL
Lacessit replied to paulbrow's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I am switching my 800K deposit from BB to Kasikorn. I have 800K at both banks for the full year. How long does it take to get a 12 month bank statement from Kasikorn? -
AFAIK any kind of meat or meat product is the only thing banned in luggage by Thai Customs. Thailand has fruit up to the wazoo. I don't understand why the OP wants more. Fruit is usually perishable anyway. Bring fruit into Australia - good luck with that.

I live in the middle of Chiang Rai most of the time. Play golf 3 times a week, eat out regularly at good restaurants. The spaghetti and mango smoothie is at Singha Park. The mussuman curry is one dish my GF cooks for me in the village. IIRC the Singha Park meal for two people was AUD 15. Probably AUD 40-50 as any two pub meals in Oz. I'd agree places such as Bangkok and Pattaya are more expensive. However, Chiang Rai is not the bush - far from it.

Stupid post. Beating only creates resentment, and possibly retaliation when the child grows up. Disciplining a child does not need physical violence. Deprivation - toys, activities, freedom of movement are all effective strategies. Criminologists agree children who are physically abused have a much higher risk of becoming the same as parents, and the child more likely to become anti-social or criminal in their teens. You reap what you sow.

I like the Australian logic of banning semi-automatic weapons. It has resulted in 3 mass shootings in 30 years, compared to depressing regularity in the USA. Medicare and the PBS in Australia covers everyone. The medical system in America is a sh!tshow. We are not so illogical as to elect a convicted felon as our leader. Congratulations, you have attained a new level of posting stupidity.

Cost of living about one-quarter of that in Australia. My GF will take care of me until I cark it. In Oz, any woman would be lining up a lawyer to milk me.

Is Trump's war on academia his dumbest move yet?
Lacessit replied to BLMFem's topic in Political Soapbox
Trump is anti-science. Progress in science is essential for any nation. It's no accident South Korea has one of the world's strongest economies, along with the highest percentage of scientists and engineers in its workforce. Every cloud has a silver lining. Australia will get the students instead. -
Things that annoy you in Thailand
Lacessit replied to scubascuba3's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Being told what the Thai person thinks I want to hear. I would much rather have a truthful answer.
