Yeah kind of like the US that has no problem it seems to come across the southern border illegally but God forbid they let a Thai come here on a legal visa. Crazy.
I'm reminded of the Biblical aphorism of straining at a gnat, and swallowing a camel.

I had the same problem with my GF's visa to Australia. In my innocence, I thought the Australian Consulate in Bangkok employed rational human beings.
Eventually, I employed an AUSTRALIAN lawyer specialising in visas, which was successful. At considerable cost.
It's all based on ensuring Thais return to Thailand. Which is absolute BS, when you consider Australia is absorbing Sudanese who are creating a crime wave of their own once they get to Australia. Or the son of a Sudanese general, on Centrelink benefits, who has attempted to purchase a $2 million property in Narre Warren.
Thais in Australia do things such as restaurants, massage and yes, some prostitution. However, AFAIK they are not represented in the statistics for crimes of violence.

Good luck with the rest of it.

I lived with one for a year when I first came out here, but she insisted on doing it 5x a day, and when I could only manage 4x, she'd be off out for another go. Lovely woman, but I left her because the strain was just too much for my tired old body.
That's some confession from an ex-SAS man.
A woman that wants sex 5 times a day? That sounds like a nymphomaniac to me.

I suppose it depends on how you read that but taken as it's written I could feel my arteries clogging.
Marbling of fat in steaks seems to be part of American food culture.
The fat is supposed to enhance the taste, although it does nothing for me.
I've never tasted Argentinian beef, which is claimed to be very good. IMHO an Australian eye fillet steak cooked medium with a full-bodied shiraz is a meal fit for a king.

I like to hoard the 500's and 50's, although I doubt that is affecting the overall stock of notes. Could be the supply of red and blue ink in Thailand is used up on the national flag instead.

Take her back to your own country let her see some of your culture
I took my GF to Australia for a month. First, she was wondering why there were no police checkpoints. She was horrified by my son's dogs sleeping on the bed with them. When we drove for 8 hours between Nymagee and Broken Hill, she was wondering where the houses were.
She had never experienced a decent eye filet steak or yabbies before, could not catch them fast enough.
Even now, I don't think she was able to comprehend the sheer size of Australia relative to Thailand.

As a falang, I find the Thai obsession with white skin very strange. That honey-brown skin so many Thai women have is just gorgeous.
As for the politics, I stay out of it. Not my business.

Aww. Come on. Nobody can understand Kiwis (just kidding)
That's because their version of English has interchangeable vowels.

Northern Thailand Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai has a lot of tourist attractions, some are free. Doi Inthanon ( expensive ) San Kamphaeng Hot Springs, Chiang Mai Erotic Gardens. Further north, Wat Sang Kaew Phothiyan ( much better than Wat Rong Khun ), Doi Chang, Doi Angkhan, Doi Mae Salong, Phu Chi Fa, Mae Sai markets, Chiang Saen.

Hate blue cheese.
I loathe pumpkin. King Island Blue Brie is the king of cheeses. We all have our foibles.

Falangs will never understand Thai thinking, just as Thais will never understand falang thinking.
I converse with my Thai GF in Thai. Mostly mundane things.
As long as we are both satisfying the needs of each other, understanding is not a necessary element of the relationship.

And if they did?
I'd expect murders to trend higher. After all, semi-automatics are more efficient at killing people.

95 gasohol is exactly the same as 91 gasohol in terms of ethanol content - 10% ethanol. The better performance noted by the OP is simply due to the octane rating.

Strange, I don't seem to be hearing of gun massacres in Thailand like they have in the USA. Then again, most Thais don't seem to have access to the semi-automatics so beloved by American supporters of the NRA. Perhaps it's purely co-incidental.

I don't buy or drink wine in Thailand. I bring one bottle of real wine from Australia every six months, and share it with friends.

Try "Kyrie Eleison" ( Mozart) on YouTube. Multiple versions. If you believe in God, this is his voice.

Well, from where I sit it's sabai sabai. A teerak who will do anything for me. A cost of living about one third of what I would have in Australia, where I'd probably be living on packaged noodles and paying extortionate rent.
What on earth is the OP on about? Mai Kowchai.

13 years for Thai construction? That's about average. Unless the driveway is removing the sump of your car, or flooding the house, do nothing. Relax. Mai bpen rai.
Perhaps it's time for a head count of fussbudgets on Thai Visa.

From memory, it was Arthur C. Clarke who suggested aliens would be judging the human race on the basis of how it treated its animals.
I don't disagree dogs should be put down if they are a health risk; however, it should be done quickly and humanely.

Some of the best sights in Northern Thailand are free. I don't go to tourist "attractions " where I get charged 3-4 times the entrance fee for a Thai anymore.

The OP is stressing over a consumable part in a Suzuki Carry? Maybe he should consider a Chery for his next purchase, so he can really get to the bottom of the food chain.

700 baht from Suvarnhabumi to Don Muang - reasonable except the driver took about 3 hours because he was dodging the tollways. Fortunately I had allowed 4 hours to get there. Lesson learned, I take the free shuttle bus every time now, about 90 minutes.
NYC? Where do I begin? Touts trying to wrestle my luggage from me. First experience a cab driver who relieved me of all my cash - 190 USD - to take me out to Farmingdale. Return journey to NYC with a driver who drove at 90 mph. His suspension was so badly worn the cab threatened to fishtail every time he hit one of the road dividers. When I pleaded with him to slow down, his response was he had just got out of a mental institution and he was sick of people telling him what to do. Stayed at a Sheraton near Central Park , 300 USD a night, dirty frayed curtains and bed linen had not been changed. Every cab I got into in NYC was filthy.
IMHO NYC ranks up there with Bahrain as a shithole I have visited. That was some time ago; however, permit me to doubt it has changed much.

Why are 50 and 500 baht currency notes used sparingly?

Forgery of the USD is the favoured target all over the world. Virtually no-one tries to forge the AUD because 1/ Not enough of them around 2/ Too difficult with the plastic note technology.
