  1. Well since you aren't allowed to own any property in Thailand you can assume that land in her name will stay in her name. I don't know about your retirement but mine required me to list my beneficiary. Originally it was my first wife. When I got divorced I changed it to my kids. When I remarried I changed it to my Thai wife. I don't see where there is a problem. Make your bank account a joint account and she will have no trouble getting any money you have there. In the mean time you could be purchasing bars of gold for investment and when you croak she can cash them in or not.

  2. I America there is a product known as BENEDRYL. It comes as a pill (helps immensely for sleeplessness) It also comes as a cream and a spray and a gel. I find the spray to be the most effective. It can stop itching instantaneously. I am someone with hyper sensitive skin. For example I can't wear woolen clothes. So as you might imagine, whenever anyone comes visiting me here from America i often ask them to bring me a bottle or two of Benedryl spray. Available at Wal-Mart and most pharmacies.

There are only five big air-cond malls in Chiang Mai so there's nothing much to compare.

    Maya

    Airport plaza

    Kad Suan Kaew

    Central Festival

    Promenada

Personally, I prefer Kad Suan Kaew.

Maya is good but prices are more expensive there.

Promenada is quite dead after immigration moved out.

One of the things I find attractive about Promenada is the lack of crowds. The fact that Dukes is there is a bonus.

    1. Am I right you ride on the wrong side (right) of the road for a long time, as so many foreigners and most Thai do?
    2. Am I right you do not help a person in need?
    3. Am I right you run the red traffic light by yourself after the accident occurred?
If all 3 are a yes, shame on you, you're a big danger in traffic too.

AmI right most Thais drive at so slow a rate of speed and constantly park in the left lane blocking traffic that the only sensible place to drive is in the right lane? If the answer is yes then you not recognizing this fact are one of the problems with driving in Thailand

  5. What’s the big deal? You’re not traveling around the world for goodness sake. Geez, get a grip and just go and enjoy yourself. If you find you need something you left behind, buy another one. Now you’ll have a back-up back home. People like you drive me crazy. Truly pathetic.
