Well since you aren't allowed to own any property in Thailand you can assume that land in her name will stay in her name. I don't know about your retirement but mine required me to list my beneficiary. Originally it was my first wife. When I got divorced I changed it to my kids. When I remarried I changed it to my Thai wife. I don't see where there is a problem. Make your bank account a joint account and she will have no trouble getting any money you have there. In the mean time you could be purchasing bars of gold for investment and when you croak she can cash them in or not.

Seems like the majority of scam complaints are about Phuket. So save yourself some aggravation and do your touristing in Chiang Mai. There’s nothing that wonderful about Phuket. JMHO

What do you care if it is genuine or not? The important thing is if it works as if it is genuine and you didn’t obtain it illegally.

I can't help you in the Bangkok area but up in Chiang Mai it is hard to beat Dukes for good western food.

Instead of asking a bunch of non qualified dipshits, why don't you contact a US lawyer? Seems like a no brainer to me.

I America there is a product known as BENEDRYL. It comes as a pill (helps immensely for sleeplessness) It also comes as a cream and a spray and a gel. I find the spray to be the most effective. It can stop itching instantaneously. I am someone with hyper sensitive skin. For example I can't wear woolen clothes. So as you might imagine, whenever anyone comes visiting me here from America i often ask them to bring me a bottle or two of Benedryl spray. Available at Wal-Mart and most pharmacies.

There are only five big air-cond malls in Chiang Mai so there's nothing much to compare.
Maya
Airport plaza
Kad Suan Kaew
Central Festival
Promenada
Personally, I prefer Kad Suan Kaew.
Maya is good but prices are more expensive there.
Promenada is quite dead after immigration moved out.
One of the things I find attractive about Promenada is the lack of crowds. The fact that Dukes is there is a bonus.

Another really stupid stupid question. Did it ever cross your simple mind to go to a reputable private hospital?

Mainly empty pikups with no suspension avoiding bumpy inside lane.
Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile appAnd also avoiding the idiot non safety minded drivers that pull into the main road without looking. In Thailand there are many many reasonable reasons for driving in the right lane.

The complete stupidity of the average Thai driver. And the blame for that stupidity is in the lack of driver education in the high schools.

I really can not believe the idiotic topics and questions put up on here. Buy a room air conditioner. Duh. They sell portable ones you can take with you when you move.

And how do you get safer roads? By proper driver training and improved road rules enforcement. Neither of which is likely to occur in yours or my lifetime.

You are much too naive to discuss this subject if you think ANY bank in the world is your friend and there to help you.

Have you tried going into one of the banks and Asking? Duh

Truly ridiculous reasoning. Can’t ban them because they are so effective for pest control. Only problem is.....they aren’t pesticides. They are weed and grass killers. Idiotic.

1. Am I right you ride on the wrong side (right) of the road for a long time, as so many foreigners and most Thai do?
2. Am I right you do not help a person in need?
3. Am I right you run the red traffic light by yourself after the accident occurred?
If all 3 are a yes, shame on you, you're a big danger in traffic too.AmI right most Thais drive at so slow a rate of speed and constantly park in the left lane blocking traffic that the only sensible place to drive is in the right lane? If the answer is yes then you not recognizing this fact are one of the problems with driving in Thailand

If you know the city is sinking (which it is) why in heavens name would you want to invest your money in any housing there? Rent. Then leave whenever you want. Like when the flooding becomes a problem for you.

Fasting isn’t A healthy way to lose weight. Especially if a person reverts back to eating huge amount of carbohydrates like rice when ending the fast.
Read up about a ketogenic diet and see if you can convince her to stay on that kind of diet. She WILL lose weight guaranteed. But it isn’t easy. And be healthier all around.

What’s the big deal? You’re not traveling around the world for goodness sake. Geez, get a grip and just go and enjoy yourself. If you find you need something you left behind, buy another one. Now you’ll have a back-up back home. People like you drive me crazy. Truly pathetic.

Anyone who thinks the weather in Thailand is “decent”, has a few screws loose. Rain every day for 7 months isn’t what I call decent. Especially when coupled with high temperatures over 80 degrees F.

I like the low cost of living and the friendliness of most Thai people.
I H A T E the Thai drivers. And the lack of enforcement of traffic laws. Hey you Thai drivers..The red lights are NOT a suggestion you stop.
A lot of lives could be saved if they made driving lessons mandatory in HS.

You obviously haven't seen much of Thai workmanship. And permits for any plumbing are unheard of. We built a house from the ground up and all we needed was a building permit. Nothing else.

Hahahaha. This is a joke right? Loan Sharking is a major way to make a living in Thailand.
