Heck I've got a house for sale on 2+ rai 40 km north of Chiang Mai and I am asking 7.8 million baht fully furnished. I would be tickled if I got ANY offers.

I ordered several items from China about 2 months ago and they still haven't arrived. I'm wondering if the world will ever get back to the way it was before the virus hit. Probably not if we accept all the restrictions and regulations put in place that have taken our freedoms and rights away in guise of "protecting" us.

Yeah, I know how to find the 1 baht price. I'm just trying to figure out what other nuances might cause the price to be more than 1/2 the 1 baht price. For instance the shop 'fee'.
People often under value the cost of converting raw gold into finished jewelry. You really can't compare the cost of gold per baht to the cost of finished jewelry per baht. You probably got exactly what you were promised. A nice solid 20 Karat gold bracelet for 566 bucks.

What I have learnt is that the Democrats will go to any lengths to increase their control of the masses.

In my not so humble opinion, I find city dwellers shallow without any substantial values. They are arrogant and consider people who live in the countryside as beneath them and ignorant. At least that is what I have observed in my 80 years on this planet.

I don't have a clue what it is but I sure as heck know what it isn't. It isn't a Cicada. Cicada's make a very loud raspy sound. Quite low in pitch but very loud. Not a high frequency sound as the poster claimed.

If you have to pay to keep her then she is no more than a prostitute. Probably not worth keeping.

If you are dealing with a bank that isn't customer oriented and willing to go out of their way to help you, it is time to withdraw ALL your funds and find a different bank. And keep doing that until you find one that is more amenable to your needs.

would explain to her how she is upsetting you with her behavior and then after one week if she hasn't tried to curb her addiction, then I would take a hammer and destroy her phone.

It absolutely depends on your morals. Dating a married woman when you don't know is one thing. Doing it when you know is definitely something else. For me, I couldn't do it. Temptation be damned.

1. insult them
2. insult their country (a big one)
3. insult Thailand
4. complain about life
5. share too much too soon
6. have very strong opinions, matter-of-fact
i've met sooo many losers who are desperate for friends but immediately disrespect everyone. luckily it happens soon into the relationship.
of course, IF they insult (xxx) after you insult (xxx) then you are both losers and will be good friends. lol. coming to Thailand to be negative is very funny to me, but i avoid these people.
Yeah by all means do not have very strong opinions. Be wishy washy about how you really feel. Those are the kinds of people that you want to get close to. Those are the kinds of people you want to associate with because you know you can really really depend on them. If you really think Thai drivers are some of the worst in the world, just say they are wonderful and no worse than those in other countries. If you think a military dictatorship is not good for a country, just say how lucky Thai people are to have such a strong government. Personally I can do quite well without friends like that thank you very much.

I drive a Mitsubishi Triton and have for the past 7 years. Fantastic. Super reliable. Good mileage. Drivers seat could be padded a bit more bit otherwise I am a happy camper that I bought it back then.

Ohh you poor poor babies. I can't imagine how you people will survive without having any alcohol drinks for a month or two. What torture. Y'all are truly pathetic.

When the Chinese come back with all their investments and want the loans to be paid back. Then they will take over because the Thai gov't. won't be able to cover the loans in spite of the kings great wealth. That's when you can bid goodby to the Thai baht.

Amazing among all the deaths and sickness, the inconvenience you are concerned with is the pubs being closed. You are without a doubt a very shallow person.

Who cares? Adults spraying water at each other is so infantile in the first place. Grow up for God's sake.

Sounds to me like the perfect time to make some intelligent investments. There were just as many millionaires made during the great depression as there were millionaires that went broke. Keep your cash at home and strike when the opportunities present themselves.

I hate living here in Thailand and want to return to my home country but I can't leave until I sell my house here since all my savings is tied up in the house. The only redeeming thing is the low cost of living here.

The cost of living and that's about it. Everything else pretty much sucks.

To all you bike riding fanatics, I have a news flash for you. You will not have any dire consequences if you sit back and take a <deleted> break of not riding for a couple of weeks.

Thailand is a kingdom with a dictatorship running the parliament. The king or the dictatorship can take any money you have in any bank any time it wants to. That's just a fact. But the same can be said about banks in America. The banks are federally controlled and the gov't can close any of them or all of them down anytime it wants to thereby eliminating any access to your funds. The only safe place for your money is in a safe in your own home and then it is only safe there if you can defend it against thieves.

We have been using a double blue lamp outside our front door that we bought at home pro a couple of years ago. It seems to work quite well.
