  1. The prices at Agoda not with PCR-test and Taxi included? Or only some? Or none? or All? ???? Sorry for thread hijack.
  2. Are you able to leave the hotel as soon as the test returns a negative, or is it some minimum stay? I'm arriving ~8am in the morning and I guess I will have the test back by evening. All things considered, it's not very important.
  3. Hi, Is it correctly understood that I qualify the 1) "40k/400k Thai Insurance" with https://www.lmginsurance.co.th/en/Products/Pages/Universal-Longstayvisa.aspx which is re-directed from https://longstay.tgia.org/ and qualify the 2) "50K USD" Travel Insurance with https://safetywing.com/nomad-insurance (it's 250k) ? or https://www.acs-ami.com/en/travel-insurance/globe-traveller/ ? Thanks,
  4. You're all life-savers here guys, thanks for the input! I got some free-time over since my original post so I decided to check if my desktop ("tower") would fit in my 75l hard-bag (accounting for some extra layers of bubble wrap, and it very much seemed so. I then figured the next move of least resistance would be to ship it as an extra bag of luggage. I contacted my airline, Finnair, and they said on their online chat that desktop computers are explicitly denied. I'll try to contact them tomorrow to get it confirmed, and then I'll try to contact another airline as a backup. If not - I'll pick out the essentials and go with that plan.
  5. I will pleasantly admit, I like both your ideas. I usually travel light in cabin and I could probably fit GPU, CPU, RAM, SSD there (and I guess it's legal since it's not heavy batteries). Admittedly I don't want to make this a computer forum, but - from the top of your head, any particular bags/bagging technique I should think of? Keeping the gear safe
  6. Hi friends, Currently living in Sweden I'm about to live for the next 7 months in Thailand, working as a video editor for a European co. These are heavy duty tasks and I need my desktop computer. The monitor/screen I would need, but it's not over-the-top expensive to buy one for 7 months. What are my options to ship a desktop computer? Is it deadly expensive? For the very sake of this discussion, lets assume I need my desktop computer and I would be very much grateful if we skip the "do you really need a desktop computer", putting the discussion in the wrong tracks (As so often happens on the internet). Bless!
  7. Amazing! I know it's early days but, have we heard anything from other members regarding total processing time? Last year I was told my application, in person, would be complete in less than 7 days (it took 3).
  8. Thank you, sir! A METV sounds like a blessing, but I don't have one in my scroll menu next to the STV. Good luck ahead. ????
  9. You guys were correct, the STV option is available at the following place (screenshot): So, do I understand this correctly that all the documents that the embassy needed for my application last year - I'll instead upload to this website? If thats the case, that's awesome. Am I not to get a stamp/visa in my passport? (I don't mind, I'm just planning my steps).
  10. So now I apply for a STV via the website and not the embassy?
  11. Special Tourist Visas are not available via the new website https://thaievisa.go.th/tourist-visa from which all new Tourist Visas are supposed to go through. I guess that makes sense because Thailand still argues STV is a temporary solution. However, the Thaiembassy website of my country still states all the same requirements of last year for a STV (14 day Q, med cert, etc.). Would you think there will be a "STV-light" update within short, with fewer requirements? Even better, have you seen any countrys website updated/downsized the requirements?
  12. Hi, I'm one of the very few, apparently, that like STV (below retirement age, need more than 3 months but not more than 7 months, border runs not available) and I was glad to see that they run it for another year. (Hopefully it becomes permanent). I'm also delighted by the latest news that Thailand will open for non-quarantine inbound travel. Now... Is there any material changes in the STV-setup since last year, that I should know about?
