  1. Wow. If I could drive more than 24 kms/hr on any of the mentioned roads I would be very happy. I think that they calculate the speed over a 24 hour period, because in the daytime the traffic moves at max 5 kms/hr.

This is very accurate. From my condo close to Thonglor to Terminal 21, I sometimes average 5-6 km/h. If the temperature dropped a few degrees, I would be happy to walk!

  2. Inverter A/C's are less efficient if running continuously (you're converting AC to DC to run a motor with losses in the conversion process). Inverter A/C's are more efficient if they are oversized or set to run so that the compressor is running on half or a third speed speed in the outside unit.

The inefficiency is in stopping & starting, for several reasons. A correctly sized inverter will run on full speed for a shortwhile and then the compressor will slow down (but not stop).

By far the best solution is to fit 2 A/C units. A conventional unit that you set at 1 or 2 degrees lower than your inverter unit (so it runs continuously) and an inverter unit set slightly higher that actually decides the temperature in the room.

Personally, I would go for 2 of 18,000 BTU units, one conventional and one inverter. The conventional unit will provide 0 or 18,000 BTU of cooling, the inverter unit will provide 0, or 6,000-18,000 variable BTU of cooling.

For efficiency, keep refrigerant pipe runs as short as possible and don't put the outside engine in the sun.

If the inverter is oversized, it stops. I have a 35,000 BTU unit (Daikin sealing mount cassette) in my livingroom. About 60sqm. This is already too big, and the compressor stops quite often. In this season, I just run it for half and hour to cool the room, then i leave my 9000 BTU one in a connecting room on, just to keep the air dry.

Buying a conventional unit today sounds totally pointless. Unless you're looking to save a few pennies on the purchase.

  3. Inverter Inverter Inverter. Since its running constantly, it helps to keep the air dry and nice. Actually, I think 24 feels a bit too cool in a living-room when the air is dry. 25 is usually sufficient. My advice is not to buy an over-sized one. If the compressor stops, the air becomes humid. I've always been recommended larger Inverter than I need. My bedroom for instance. The experienced owner of an aircon sales/service shop said that 12,000 BTU just wasn't enough for my ~16sqm bedroom. But I really wanted that Daikin model, as its small, very quiet. But absolutely no problem. It cools the room easy to 21c all year around. I have single pane glass sliding doors, not very well insulated. The compressor runs quiet once the room is cooled down.

  4. For 50K a month you will get a mediocre programmer at the best. Remember, a lot of Thais are not used to individual thinking, and might not be as creative as we are used to in the west. They can be OK for repetitive tasks, but can sit day in and out without solving problems with a technology they are not familiar with etc. Their salary exceptions is high. They prefer working for a reputable company, having a title eg. Senior yada yada... I have been working through several programmers myself, eventually gave it up. I know there success stories out there, and some acquaintances of mine have found a few they are happy with. Depends on the technology and the level of work you are doing.

I can help you with recruitment / outsource if you are interested.

  5. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

I worked on the Burj Khalifa, also the River Project in Bangkok. Love to get a gig on this baby smile.png

would you care to translate your post into English?

He worked on Burj Khalifa (tallest, building in the world?), then The River Bangkok (huge condo project next to Chaya Phraya river). And he would love to work in this project, as in the Super Tower that this thread is about thumbsup.gif

  6. I tried the 4k download

the free version limits you to 25 songs on a playlist , but you can repeat it on other playlists from other people

the Pro version costs $10-$20 and allows more songs per download .

quality seems OK but I downloaded a mid range version to save space so I am sure its better if you want,

Will keep hunting for a free unlimited song program but this is a good start....thanks

    Go Pro! :)

  7. Unless you are an official dealer and the box has not been opened then I dont count being sold 2nd hand as brand new... Laugh every time I see classified ads " brand new only used X times...".

If you plugged it in even once for your project it is not brand new. Almost new maybe, but not brand new.

65k maybe ok if you actually want to spend that money on a monitor, professional film editors with money to burn are few and far between, so if you really want to sell make it attractive to an audience with buyers. Or join the line of condo owners with units they think are great value but somehow noone buys...

Hehe. Easy to make you laugh I can tell.. But it doesn't change the fact that the monitor is only 10 days old, comes with a full warranty and on-site service for three years (minus 10 days). And since its actually moved out of the box, and plugged in the socket, I give a discount.

Professional movie editors are exactly the target market here. Thats why, a simple programmer, don't need it. I love it, but more nice to have than need to have. Visual Studio looks crisp though ;)

Regarding condos, I think the constant supply of new condos does something with the 2nd hand market. Thats why you can find a decent 2nd hand condo on Sukhumvit @ 60K per sqm, but the new one next door is 140K per sqm.. Doesn't make sense to me.. I went for the 2nd hand one ;)

  8. I would say a 5k 27 inch compares to a 4k 32 inch... especially with a powerful computer thrown in.

40k almost tempting, 65k I would upgrade to the imac and I dont own any apple devices...

Good luck but I dont buy overpriced second hand prices that are standard here. If someone actually needs this and about to spend full whack on a new one you are lucky. If not you are competing with 10k thb screens that would do most users needs fine. I know yours is better, but better doesnt always justify cost.

I think you missed a few points. First, the monitor is brand new. 2nd, the price in the US is $2,499.99, which is 81000 THB. So this is an absolute bargain wink.png

  9. New Apple Imac Retina is 5K + AIO PC for 2499 usd (Expect 86-89k in Thailand)

Goodluck getting rid of your decently discounted (but over-priced in retail) monitor.

Btw you can't sell stuff in this forum. You know it right?

Yea, that Apple should be nice. Only 27" though... Can't reply compare, right?

I sell trough the classifieds. Ain't no harm doing some advertising ;)

  10. I bought the Samsung 28 inch 4K UHD monitor new for 20,000 baht. Screen real estate at 4K is amazing and games are incredible.

That Dell monitor is good if you NEED the AdobeRGB color space and high color accuracy, but it comes at a hefty price. The Samsung supports 60Hz via the DisplayPort, but only sRGB.

The full price is bad, but the price I offer is really good value for money. Remember this is a IPS panel, not a TN, which they cheaper models have. I bought a 30" Dell back in 2008, and costed me about the same that time. But no for 4K back then ;)
