  1. Yet another reason to cheer for Spain! I hope they'll sink England decisively. ¡Viva España!
  2. How about keeping the alcohol ban in place for railway officers, but allowing passengers to drink again? I fondly remember night train rides with ice cold beers being served in the dining car.
  3. If I need my passport at short notice, trying to get it back from an agent (potentially out of business hours) would be unnecessarily stressful. So no thanks, I'd rather make sure to take care of 90-day reports on time.
  4. I don't think there's anything wrong with Vietnam specifically. What they seem to be suspicious of are "permanent tourists" who, instead of going home after their holidays in Thailand, have the audacity to spend a few days, weeks or months in a nearby country and then rock up in Thailand again. They clearly don't get that.
  5. Their site is up, as they still do border runs from Bangkok to Cambodia. I've found their information to be up to date and reliable. https://thaivisaservice.com/
  6. It's still 30 days, nothing strange there. If you think it's 28 days, you're just counting wrong.
  7. They're "unlimited" until you encounter an IO who thinks you're abusing them.
  8. Easy, I get that information from a visa run company that used to go to that border when it was still open. It's in their very best interest to stay up to date with this, so I trust their information. And no, I haven't been to all of those borders myself. Maybe because I'm not a border runner, but if I was, I wouldn't find it difficult to get the information I need. You're just being dramatic, "betting your life" and all. Worst case scenario, you lose a day and a few hundred baht in bus fares. Or you could just use a border that has proven to be a reliable choice for a border run. Or use a visa run service. How difficult can it be?
  9. "Not at all", would be my guess! This flip-flopping will cost some people dearly, and this kind of thing does nothing for investor confidence in general.
  10. Rain in the rainy season, brace yourselves!
  11. Debate Ramps Up: Is the Thai Senate Still Necessary? Wrong question. Was it ever necessary in the first place? Thailand isn't a federal republic.
  12. Just for clarity, as you went to the O'Smach border. Did those 2000 baht you paid to a helper include the visa on arrival for Cambodia?
  13. There's "no info" because nothing has changed; that border remains closed and has been since Covid. Sure, we can repeat that answer to each and every poster who asks the same question (and we often do, as it were), but where's the real benefit? You did find existing topics with the correct answer. If and when a border crossing reopens, reports will start to pour in - and you'll find them as well.
  14. Yet another form. So people in Nakhon Nowhere, ahem Roi Et, really do have too much time on their hands.
  15. Aranyaprathet / Poi Pet Say no more!
  16. You need to apply for a re-entry permit for the under consideration period anyway. That's the best time to tell them when you will be gone, so that they can schedule the home visit for when you're at home. Not really a problem.
  17. I used Bolt a few times but having to pay cash annoyed me. Has that been fixed?
  18. That's interesting and I guess you won't get a definitive answer until you go to the embassy. Maybe you could take along your boarding pass as alternative piece of evidence of flying into Malaysia.
  19. Yes, ask for a 30-day extension for the purpose of tourism at your local immigration office. It's routinely granted.
  20. You definitely need bank statements that cover 3 months and a (current/ending) balance of at least 20k baht. Anything beyond that, such as requiring that the balance hasn't dropped below 20k baht within those 3 months, is something I've heard from Vientiane but not from Savannakhet or Phnom Penh. That might be hit and miss.
  21. With regards to Myanmar, a recent topic on here had up to date info. At this time, your only Myanmar border run option is Ranong, all the other crossings remain closed (at least for border runs).
  22. Tomorrow, well let me guess, you'll get the usual 30 days if you're from one of the countries that get those.
  23. I don't read Tod's advice as saying that you should go late. In a perfect world, everyone takes care of their immigration business well in advance. I read it as saying if your immigration office happens to be closed for a holiday and you haven't done anything about your expiring permission to stay before, then make sure that you go there on the very first day they're open again to avoid overstay penalties. Which is good advice.
  24. You need to do it where you are registered to be staying, or in other words, where your current TM30 notification has been filed.
