  1. At the end of the day, it usually helps if the discussion is reduced to bare facts, replacing subjective "gut-feelings". - Who has more manpower. The Ukraine or Russia? - Who can produce their own weaponery, not having to rely on "outside help". The Ukraine or Russia? Mathematically: 2+2=4. Still. Generally: Was the Ukraine ever part of "the West"?. No, but part of todays Russia since the 9th century. Cemented by Katharina The Great. NATO: Without the US, NATO is a toothless tiger. Ever since 1989, European armies have been stripped to the bone. Throwing the wisdom of the old Romans to the wind: "SI VIS PACEM, PARABELLUM". Unfortunately, this is exactly what we did NOT do.
  2. This is about "Europe" not about Switzerland in particular. It may have escaped you.
  3. Unfortunately, Europeans have not yet understood that the US is entering a new age of "Isolationism". Even without Donald Trump at the steering wheel, Republicans refuse to be the "Policemen of the world" anymore (and pay for it). Without the "approval" of the Republicans: Nothing goes. Without the US, Nato is a thoothless tiger.
  4. Inventory list of the German armed forces concerning ammo supplies. Confirmed by Defense Minister, Mister Pretorius.
  5. Old stereotypes never die. Rats! The Cockoo clock was not invented in Switzerland but in southern Germany. In their hearts, all Americans are still cowboys.
  6. You, an Expat living in Thailand having certain Assets in Europe? Some food for thaught: Let's face it: Without US support, it's "game over" for the Ukraine. After that, the only question remaining is: Will the Russians stop at the Hungarian border or march into the heart of Europe, as the Hungarians will not shoot at any Russians? European armies have been stripped to the bone, running out of ammo after 2 weeks. Real Estate can't be moved out of a country. But "liquid assets" can. As an Expat are you considering moving your liquid assets to a trusted Thai Bank as long as this is still possible? Easily returned if this scenario should not unfold. -Not during the Tsarist age nor during the Soviet age has Europe been so militarily vulnerable. The temptation for Putin to become the new age "Alexander The Great" is high. Needless to say, that under the rule of Tsar Putin, any sort of pension-money transfers will come to a grinding halt. All just food for thaught.
  7. I don't want to hide my bushel under a sheffle (or is it the other way around?) I made ample contributions to local temples, having gotten the assurance by the monks that I most likely will return according to my wishes. - I will return as the chief W*ore Monger in Pattaya. Giving guided tours to newcomers. With the approval and sponsoring of the local police.
  8. That's what I thaught also. But Donald Trump told me that I am stupid.
  9. ASAP? Folks living in Japan have a high life expectancy. Besides, you have not charmed all your female surrounding in your neighborhood. You have got work to do.
  10. He He. If you stumble over a rattlesnake she could not tell you that she was a Taxi driver in Bangkok before. The ones that come back as humans are not very talkative, but probably thinking to themselves "Oh no, not this S*it all over again".
  11. With a 50% divorce rate among heterosexual couples, all those have "no long term future" as well.
  12. After your demise, would you like to be incarnated? If yes, as what earthly creature would you like to come back?
  13. I need to be educated. To my understanding, Tom Boys are females rather looking and behaving like boys. Fine. But what is their sexual orientation? Are they attracted to males or females? Or both?
  14. Brain cells need a constant flow of oxygen (blood circulation). If oxygen supply to the brain is stopped, (for whatever reason), brain cells frantically are starting to fight for their lives. Frantically starting to exchange "information", seeking to avoid their dying process. This final process causes something that only can be classified as final "haluzionary effects". A very strong dose of LSD can produce very similar effects.
  15. A Thai Lady living 20 years in my home country. Upon her demise, she would like to have her ashes brought back to Thailand. Question: Can the urn be sent to Thailand by way of UPS, DHL etc? Or can be part of "the luggage" on a regular flight? Can do? Has anyone done this?
  16. By looking at my surroundings, I felt that people are not the same as 50 years ago. More irratic behaviour, more erratic speach. I thought that this is only my imagination. But no, now it's officially confirmed: The world is going "Bananas". Here is proof: - Annually, health insurance companies in my home country publish a bulletin. The highest "cost factor" they have to cover is "Psychic ailments/addictions". Devastating. This is nothing than alarming. What are the causes that so many people need "psychiatric help" these days? When I was 20 years old nobody even knew what a psychiatrist was. If I had a son, I would not recommend him to become an astronaut, a doctor or a nuclear scientist, I would recommend to him to become a psychiatrist or any other occupation that contains the word "psycho". As for those, a golden age has just begun. Including modern day esoteric "snake oil salesmen". I am too old to study "psychiatry", but I still would like to be part of "modern day life". So I ask if there are any institutions or websites where one can learn erratic behavior and erratic speach. With the aim to remain part of the "modern day society" where abnormality is the new normality.
  17. October 2003. Beach road bus stop. A lady and me sitting on the bench waiting for the bus. Bus was late. She gave me a BJ on the bench. 200 Bht. Dozends of people walking by, seeing what's going on. No opposition, mostly smiling faces. That was Pattaya in the old days. Unthinkable today.
  18. What is the difference between GENIOUS Japonese girls and regular japonese girls?
  19. It depends if a Farang has "Family-Ties" in Thailand or not. If yes, then it's a "Thai Matter". (What says "the Last Will" of the Farang?) If not appliccable, Thai Authorities will (gladly) turn over the matter to the relevant Embassy of the Farang.
  20. Occasionally visiting Thailand to escape boredom?
  21. Lot's of "cosmopolitans" use US$ to reflect cost/income etc. There are also Can$, AUS$, Singapore$.
  22. Yep! Same all over "the west". Boredom is one thing, but expensive boredom is the ultimate "downer". Especially affecting western seniors living on a budget. Thankfully, there is Thailand (for those that still can travel). A place where a westerner can say to a female things like "I like your dress" or "Considering your age of 95 you look smashing". All this without having to fear to be accused of "Verbal, sexist molestation of a female".
  23. I believe the OP is describing circumstances in the UK. Therefore suffering British Winters.
  24. Thai Women, including it's pleasures trials and tribulations.
  25. Wow! That should cover the cost of the daily bowl of rice.
