I was thinking of staying with girlfriend who stay with her mother from January . this kind of incidents confuse me if this is a good idea to stay with her .  she is 22   I am 52 . mother in law 60 .

you and your "girlfriend" = 30 years age difference.

you and "mother in law" = 8 years age difference.

wanna make mommy happy? Do a threesome. You're closer to her age anyway.

I guess that paragraph says it all:

"Based on the study, the department came up with the CC figures for at least seven parks, including Similan, which stood at 1,600 people per day. However, these figures have not led to any further regulation and controls desired by the department, due to various factors including the lack of policy and serious enforcement, Dachanee says."

You can held hundreds of meetings, establish committees and make new laws if it is not enforced at the end.

TIT. Where it's all about talk, talk, talk, eat some lunch, drink some sweet bubble tea, talk talk talk again, and go home. Repeat tomorrow. Nothing gets done.

  3. The problem is the methods. Too theoretical, too grammar-focused, zero understanding of children's development, zero effort on trying to understand linguistic aspects of language learning, and lack of effort on finding quality teachers as well as lack of appreciation for teachers in general and too much emphasis on the teachers' skin color and country of origin and not enough emphasis on the teachers' history and actual teaching skills.

I did mine yesterday. N2 moved very slowly and needed a copy of my work permit which I hadn't expected. All in all, the transfer, then getting new extensions, then new re-entry permits took about 5 hours. Could have been worse!

Sent from my SM-A500F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

I was actually called right after posting that, and 9:55 I was out of there.

Whatever, I still find it good that they manage the lines at the counter where you need to get the queue numbers. People tend to jump lines over there. Even when outside is fine and disciplined, once you get to that counter, it turns into a zoo.

I was there for a retirement extension this morning. Don't know about passport transfers but three hundred people by noon sounds off. Maybe depends on how you count.

The check in process was better and they’re getting people into the system faster…but then it goes into the usual slow motion. And they’re still insisting up silly things like drawing maps and making repeated runs for copies that waste a lot of time. There were also a generous number of agents doing their typical queue-jumping…which wasted more time.

I saw the IO at 0915 but didn’t get my passport back until after 1100…so the overall ‘hurry up and wait’ factor was similar to last year. The staff are still very much obsessed with minutia.

On the bright side…the Re-Entry section was very fast…and best of all……there were “NO TIPS” signs all over the place.

This is exactly what I was worried about. The lady who told me she arrived around noon and they'd already finished 300+ numbers... can't really be trusted since I trusted her words once and got sent around in circles cause SHE said "mai mi panha", but the folks at CW said "mi panha". This lady likes to give fake assurances. I don't believe that CW can change that quickly from 90 numbers until noon to 300+ numbers until noon... riiiight.

  6. My German (he was Italian, but born in Germany) boss often forgot to pay my salary until the 20th. When every 15th I had to pay for health insurance and if I don't have enough money in my account, I get fined. My boss usually paid us between the 9th and 12th of the month, but on the months that he forgot, guess who had to pay the fines from the health insurance??? It's not all rainbows and flowers in Germany. Just saying.

Also, if it states in your contract that you will get paid on date x every month, and that's what they do, and you agreed to it, then you really can't expect them to give them your money on the first, now, could you? If you don't agree or you want your money always on the 1st, then you need to work at a school who pays on the 1st.

  7. I have to move my existing visa from my old passport to my new one.

Question 1: do I have to go to Changwattana? Can't I do it at Chamchuri?

Question 2: If I have to do it at Changwattana, which counter is responsible for it? Is it counter N, the same one that handles all visa extensions? How long should I expect to wait?

Has anyone had any similar experiences?

They didn't just decide to round up Indians and Cambodians.  You do realise that don't you?  You think they did that because they don't spend enough money here and they didn't go after westerners because they do?

Plenty of Westerners have also been caught and deported.

At no point did I mention they were rounding up only Indians and Cambodians. Don't blame me if you missed the entire context. Since I feel generous, here a screenshot for you so your finger doesn't have to do some scrolling exercises. And FYI, Jimmynewbie was replying to someone else saying that they don't do anything about the many Thais working illegally in western countries. image.png

sorry i guess you talking about burmese, cambodians etc.

I was more referring to westerners that spend the money here

although with wages more on par now with neighbouring countries and price of living here higher doubt they have much to send

I thought the topic of this thread was that Indians are the majority? So I'm talking about them, as well as the runner up (Cambodians), etc. Individualistic retired westerners don't need to send money home. They bring money to Thailand to support their new teenage Thai wife, the kids, wife's "brother", wife's parents, wife's neighbors, and the family buffalo ???? This is the type of foreigners that Thailand wants to keep in. Not the overstaying Indians and Cambodians....
