  1. I have applied for a Wise card several times over the years and as recently as 2 months ago. Still not available in Thailand
  2. So that's it then, clear as mud as usual. I just want to buy beer between 2 and 5pm from 7/11. Is that too much to ask?
  3. In Thailand believe something "IF" and when it happens. Till then just have a laugh about it
  4. WISE is actually a British based company although it is available worldwide. I transfer regularly from my UK WISE account to Kasikorn. The transfer fee is always 0.6% of the transfer amount and the transfer takes roughly 10 seconds. Been using WISE for about 7 years and never had any problems
  5. It's a disgrace that our pensions are frozen but he knew that before he settled here, no point in moaning now
  6. I was at the new terminal at Suvarnabhumi last week. There are at least 2 new smoking rooms and the Hard Rock rooftop bar where you can have a smoke while enjoying a beer. Well done Thailand, common sense is coming back
  7. Thank god for my patio beer fridge 🍺🍺 cheers
  8. I have been retired in Thailand for 8 years and just returned from holiday in Laos today i leave Thailand 3 - 4 times per year on short holidays, would they expect me to pay "tourist" medical insurance every time i come back?
  9. I have been in Thailand for 8 years and am registered to vote. In the 2019 election i received my ballot paper on the day of the election, too late to send back. When i contacted them to complain they said they are only allowed to send out the ballot papers 10 days before the election. Unless they change this rule you still can't vote.
  10. Could someone please post the link to 90 day online report. Never done it online before but i'd like to try it, thanks
  11. Well that's as clear as mud, otherwise there wouldn't be anything to discuss
  12. It's already happened, in April Barclays informed me i had till August 30th to take my balances to zero and close my accounts which i obviously did. A nice thank you from Barclays after 35 years of banking with them
  13. My wife worked from age 20 till she was made redundant in 2021 aged 51 due to covid. She was on a decent salary for 20 years and then an excellent salary for the next 11 years as branch manager for a Japanese company at Laem Chabang. She will receive her Thai state pension in 2 years time, a total of 4,000 baht per month for 31 years continuous work, pathetic
  14. forget about voting in a UK election if you live in Thailand. I registered for a postal vote in the last election, my ballot paper arrived at my Thai address on the actual day of the election. I phoned the relevant number in the UK to complain and they told me they can't send out ballot papers to overseas addresses till 10 days before the election. So unless an envelope can get from UK - Thailand - UK in 10 days you've got no chance
  15. Never been found guilty of ball tampering though, pretty bad when Australian cricket kit includes a strip of sandpaper
  16. I always use Cockpit, never been anywhere else because great service. I used for new tyres, alignment, puncture, battery, wiper blades you name it, branches all over the place
  17. you were right about Geordies, we also have a sense of humour
  18. Your #3 is complaining farang, you actually said that while complaining, that's funny
  19. At least Thailand is catching up to the west in one respect where free speech is banned
