Yellow hatch markings universally mean "do not enter unless your intended exit is clear"
Or in Thailand it means just a waste of paint

Follow the advice from ubonjoe, it's spot on. I renewed my UK passport last month. Downloaded and completed the payment form, £118.51 including courier fee

Yes, there is no such thing but it doesnt stop real estate agents using the term. I explained about freehold and leasehold and explained that its a "made up" real estate term. They "present" a long lease and "imply" it means ownership.
I didnt say there was such a thing as a freehold lease, I explained how real estate agents have made up the term.
I'll say it one more time its a made up real estate term.
If you had even the most basic knowledge of the subject we could debate this further, as you obviously don't, i'll just leave it there.

I think I just said that, lol
Really??? re-read your post.
I am quoting you "i think the term freehold lease is presenting a long lease (10, 20, 30 year}
I'll say it one more time, there's no such thing as a freehold lease.

The term freehold lease doesn't make much sense. Its usually freehold which is outright ownership or leasehold which is renting. I think the term freehold lease is presenting a long lease (10, 20, 30 year) as being as good as, the same as, ownership. Implying that you own the lease and can sell it.
A creative real estate marketing term which basically means "for rent" with maybe a possibility of on-selling the lease. (The lease would need to have a "can be sublet and transferred" clause).
There's no such thing as a freehold lease, the term is freehold and means outright ownership as opposed to leasehold (the clue's in the wording) which means there's a lease with a stipulated number of years involved

A peppercorn means you pay a tiny amount for the lease. It doesn't have anything to do with the length of the lease.
A lease is a lease, varying number of years, A "PEPPERCORN" LEASE MEANS 999 YEARS

Freehold / leasehold is the system used in the U.K.
Freehold means you own the house AND the land, leasehold means you only own the house but lease the land for a certain number of years.
The last property i owned in the U.K. had a "peppercorn" lease, which means 999 years

I'm not a big fan of shopping malls but out of curiosity i visited Terminal 21 with the wife yesterday, very impressive. Only light traffic on north road and around dolphin circle and parking was easy. Food wise you are spoilt for choice, good quality eateries, especially on the San Fransisco level. Didn't intend spending anything, just a look, but ended up buying a load of clothes for me, it's worth a visit.

Even with a valid will payment must wait for legal process. More headaches for those who are supposed to not have to face such difficulties; and their survivors.
On the topic of what happens to the 800k lying in a Thai bank account when you pass away.
A German friend of mine passed away last July. He was hospitalised, and when it became obvious to him that he wasn't going to live till his next extension of stay date, he told his Thai wife to take 50,000 out of the ATM per day till the account was empty which she did. Shouldn't have to do things like that but it's better than your money ending up in the bank's or government's pocket.

In the UK they banned smoking in pubs etc, but you could stand outside and have a puff, in this case it seems you have to stand in the middle of the road..????
Standing in the middle of the road is probably safer as they have a tendency to ride motorbikes on the pavements here

In need of a bit advice.
I am a Brit on 3rd year of retirement extension in Thailand. 4 weeks ago i applied to renew my British passport at H.M.P.O. in Bangkok so i am expecting them to contact me anytime now to say the new passport is ready to collect.
My query is this, do i need a form from H.M.P.O. in order to have the stamps transferred from the old passport to new passport? or is it a simple case of going to immigration with both passports and asking them to transfer everything. Someone recently told me that i need a form but they couldn't remember which form.
Thanks in advance

I have had to do this at Jomtien immigration for the last 2 years for visa extension renewal. The 1st time i printed off a google map and marked my house, not acceptable. They wanted a hand drawn map but wouldn't accept one drawn by my Thai wife, i drew one which was pretty crappy, they didn't even look at it but said that's ok

8 years ago i opened an account at Kasikorn beach road Pattaya without a work permit and while on a 60 day tourist visa, only took my passport and a Thai lady friend as translator, it took 30 minutes. I am now retired in Thailand and have 3 accounts with Kasikorn. Good bank, farang friendly and never had any problems with them

Never heard of suicide brought on by toothache before, R.I.P. mate.
In the U.K. i would always buy Ibuprofen for pain but it's not available here. While suffering with sciatica here in Thailand recently, i discovered that GOFEN 400, which is available over the counter at virtually all pharmacies is actually ibuprofen 400mg.
Just a tip for any of our expat friends who may require pain relief.

Why.?.
If you ask why and you live in Thailand you are obviously involved with a strange Thai family, or you're strange, one of the two. I seriously can't believe that anyone thinks that.

Fantastic news, can't say i was really optimistic all the time though.
One thing i don't understand about the plan now for getting them out, they are talking about 4 months to get them out. 10 years ago i did the PADI course here in Thailand, 4 days to qualify as an open water diver. I know it is a totally different situation, not open water, extremely limited channels to navigate and zero visibility, but 4 months?
I am sure and hopeful that when they start the rescue phase it will go a lot more quickly and smoothly than they are anticipating now, Well done to all the emergency services and everyone else involved, now get those kids back to their families
