  1. I went to deposit 2k cash today at the Bangkok Bank ATM as I done  100s of times.

    1. I selected cast deposits.

    2. Inserted my card inputted my pin number etc..

The ATM returned my card, message on screen saying access denied at this time. ( I done the procedure 3 times )

I went into the bank and spoken to the bank staff, the staff told me that  foreigners can now only deposit cash in branch over the counter, and not at ATM ( banks reason staff said )

Only about 2 weeks ago I went into AIS my sim card provider I got proof that my  phone number is registered to me etc..

i then went into my Bangkok bank with the proof AIS given me to show the bank that my SIM card all matches to my account details.

I've been with my UK bank for over 50 years, but when I went onto the site a few days ago, they made me fill in a big questionnaire regarding my pensions, who I paid tax to etc, before accessing my accounts. Bit daunting because it was early morning and I was still half asleep! I must admit that I was panicking slightly because I was about to do my monthly pension transfer. Anyway, they seemed happy with my answers because my transfer went ok and I haven't heard back from them. I did cock up my first attempt at logging in, so it may have had something to do with that.

    Which bank ?

Does anyone know who in this forum has the most knowledge on the most feasible ways to change my retirement visa to a marriage visa? I have specific personal options I wish to ask about that can help me choose which suits me best.

When I changed over from retirement to married I had to leave Thailand and come back in ( Pathum Thani immigration )

FYI..     being the skeptic that I am .....

I went to the local TRD in Pranburi ..   got the run around and caused the clerks eyes to roll like a roulette wheel when I told him how much money I brought in from US Social Security      he said Oh $$$   you have to pay  but I can get you a discount ..    ba bla bla..  wasted my breath ( the wife and I  )for 15 mins trying to explain the DTA between the USA and Thailand..   but. more enjoyable to bang my head on a brick wall...

anyway .   back to being a skeptic...  I took one of the free 15 minute consulting one on one with Jason @ expat thailand

expained to him all my funds are  from US Social Security and he confirms  you are exempt... " you do not need to file any tax return"  do nothing !
