  1. I'm looking for some feedback and suggestions of any English speaking lawyer in Bangkok..

I have some documents to be certified for my private UK pension.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

  2. I have a Yamaha 155cc NNax 2021 model.

The bike won't start this morning as the battery voltage have drop to 9.2.

The Yamaha dealership said I needed a new battery as the life span of a battery in Thailand is only 1 year due to the hot weather.

Have anyone had the same problem with they battery after only 12 month's ?

    New battery wasn't experience 750B.

  3. Have any expats living here in Thailand on  Non O extension been successfully be accepted for the Thailand Pass with just 30 days insurance cover ?. Any not cover until the expire date on they extension stamp.

I'm planning to visit family in the UK for a week, I have 10 months left on my Non O extension married to a Thai.

  4. Reference to Richard Barrows meeting today with the Department of Consular Affairs expats returning from abroad only need 30 day's health insurance cover for 50000USD.

And not insurance until end of they extension date.

expatriates are finding it harder than tourists to find appropriate insurance for the $50,000 coverage. Particularly as they are supposed to be covered for the remaining length of the time left on their visa. I had ten months left on mine and was quoted 30,000 baht for a one-year insurance policy! Foreigners with Permanent Residence or people with long-term Thailand Elite visas, would face a much bigger bill. On this matter, I think I have some good news and some clarification about the rules.
For a start, it doesn’t seem to be written down anywhere that you need to have special insurance to cover you for the time you will be in Thailand if you are on a long-term visa. It was just implied by some embassies. I asked the director general about this, and he said a 30-day policy would be plenty. After all, if you test positive, you will only need to do 10 days in a hospital and a possible 14 day quarantine afterwards. So, a 30-day policy would cover you.
I also asked him about the option to have a certified letter from your employer. He said that as long as it is on official letterhead and clearly states that you are fully insured by the company and all costs can be covered up to $50,000, then you won’t need to take out a special insurance policy. He also confirmed that people like myself who have social security, can use this instead of taking out a special insurance. Another misunderstanding is that the insurance must have Covid-19 coverage up to $50,000. That is not true, and it can be general insurance up to that amount.

    From the embassy website.

"If you have not been given a copy of this letter, send us your name and Thai address via our web form and we will post a copy to you."

That's great thanks guys very much appreciated.

I have send the UK embassy a request this afternoon hopefully I will get apply soon.

  6. My UK passport is due to be renewed in December.

Due to the VFS being closed in Bangkok.

My visa extension due for renewal in November, so it's important to have my new passport before then.

The question I'm asking is what's my opinions in renewing my UK passport ?

    1. Can anyone recommend a agent in Chiang Mai who can assist ?, as VFS there is open as normal.

    2. Send my passport to Liverpool direct from Thailand for renewal ?.

Will Liverpool post my new and old passport back to Thailand ?. And if so how and where would I get the embassy letter to transfer my visa stamp from old to new passport ?

very much appreciated for any feedback
