I don't believe they attempted to steal money from you.

Sometimes they are slow at giving change especially when there busy! If they were giving you your change back slowly the likelihood she was counting it again.

I have been in a 7/11 where the lady that served me counted the money/change 4 times just to make sure it was correct.

Why do people constantly moan about the bad things in pattaya.

have lived in Pattaya for a few years and enjoy it here. This was a heads up to fellow members to be careful and alert at the filling stations. Not a Pattaya bashing thread !

I know this topic has been covered before, but they tried to scam me 2 days ago filling up the scooter. A gentle reminder hopefully people will pay attention to the attendants diligence. I won't name and shame the station, or the thread will be closed.

The attendant didn't zero the meter, before she started filling up the tank. Got from 66baht to 69 before i pointed it out to. She quickly corrected it. Thought no more of it. When i gave her a 500 baht, she kept giving change in dribs & drabs thinking I would think that was it and carry on. Then I knew she was just trying to screw me one way or the other. Her attitude had changed completely.

Funny thing is, there are not many petrol stations here in Pattaya, nearly always queue's !

Liked the venue during the daytime for quiet lunch-dates. But last year place went downhill....air con not on...some of the daily specials like kebabs weren't available at lunchtime, their idea of baked potato was mashed potato on a bed of French fries, bizarre !

Man, this guy looks harmless, but that is probably how he gets close to mothers and their kids. I hope the giant homos' get him in the shower.

excellent service if you want all in one system (Speednavi) maps on mini sd card (not the cheapiest) but very good at helping you. mine cost me 24k including camera, map, etc.

Has anyone had any recent experience of doing this. I was particularly interested in a GPS system that is is easier to update each year with new mapping etc Toyota themselves seem to make this hard work.

I think the current model Fortuna may use SD card, rather than DVD.

Also I was wondering how difficult it was to combine this with a reversing camera too. Presumably wiring and pin-hole camera need to be retro-fitted. Does this cause any damage...

I do low mileage each year, so want to avoid the expense of a new car at the moment !

Many people call themselves your friend in Pattaya if you have money, you soon find out if they really are a good friend if you find yourself with no money !!

It might seen difficult at frst, but after lots of practice you recognise word groups, final consonants etc.

How any sane person can commit such an appalling act is beyond me.

You can be legally sane and hold (very) extreme views, and commit horrendous atrocities. 21 years is not enough, i hope they continue to extend this on a discretionary basis.

Running a bar here is long hours. It is much more fun drinking at different bars too than being stuck at the same one all the time. If you don't have reliable thai partner, it is an uphill struggle to recruit "ladies".

If he was wearing traditional dress they might have mistaken him for the competition.

If he's correct and he sounds to me like he actually knows what he is talking about, then there was a short curcuit inside the club which caught the foam used throughout the club, on fire. It makes much more sense than any other the other stories I've read...

Thai language version on PDN says the driver was racing. Whatever the facts are, a reminder to everyone else to exercise more caution when driving scooters & motorbikes, and when you have the responsibility of a passenger at the back.

I agree with a lot of the reasons stated, but feel that you have a lot more independence here, and a better chance of making a relationship work if you can at least make yourself understood in Thai.

Thai language is not very useful outside this country, but if you are going to live here for any length of time, it is very important !
