  1. If you contend the phenomenon of wrongfully included cases is "widely reported" you are giving it a scale that is far exaggerated.

Figures in Thailand could be lower than the putative true figure because of overly exclusive classification, deliberate fabrication or suppression of data, or the latency of data.

I don't give the first two serious consideration. Latency of data however could be a factor.

    Thailand didn't join (Covax).

"If Thailand wants to join the COVAX program, it will have to pay for vaccines itself with a high budget and there is also a risk," he said, adding the country had to make an advance payment without knowing the source of vaccines and delivery dates. He did not specify the costs.

That's a totally acceptable reason. In the planners' infinite wisdom, we now know exactly what vaccines Thailand will get, and when.

    NOT!

To be clear, my point was that the mass numbers of infections predicted by the Doomsayers here about Songkran travel never happened.

I was one of those doomsayers. I said it was unsound to allow mass inter-provincial travel.

Thailand now has to work overtime to contain the wave. The new infections, clusters, lost jobs, physical restrictions arose directly from the mass travel. The data does not yet show that Thailand has climbed out of this mess.

You are not explaining why we are not seeing 50,000+ infections in the provinces after Songkran.

Maybe we are not seeing 50,000+ infections because there aren't any.

However, it is more likely a combination of latency, limited testing and asymptomatics.

That said, I sincerely hope you're right.
