  1. I wonder if any spectators blubbered at the sad sight???
  2. With respect and for reference: There are no restrictions to enter Cambodia by air, sea or land. Many tourists/visitors are now entering the Kingdom.

  4. Thai Airways flies high as numbers skyrocket https://opengovasia.com/thai-satellite-to-launch-on-3d-printed-rocket/
  5. As a person who prefers "cash only", I would avoid cashless establishments (personal choice)! There are still many restaurants offering high quality food that accept cash and in many instances "cash only"!! A smartphone with apps would be irrelevant.
  6. Thaksin married Potjaman Damapong in July 1976. They have one son, Panthongtae and two daughters, Pinthongtha and Paethongtarn. (Google search)
  7. From the video, it appears no one kept their cool!
  8. From today's Cambodian news media (8 August 2022):- "A senior police officer in Chonburi province confirmed Sunday that club owner Pongsiri Panprasng had turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued..................The 27-year-old will face several charges, the police officer said, including causing death through recklessness and operating a pub without a licence. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501127820/thai-nightclub-owner-detained-over-fire/
  9. You have my sympathy, and yes there are other similar cases I know of.
  10. Yes indeed, and during my 20 years living in Northern Thailand it was (and still is) my favorite Thai dish (but "mae pedt" - not spicy) A traditional dish across Burma (Shan State,) Northern Thailand and Northern Laos. Absolutely delicious and IMO far better than burgers, pizzas and sausage and chips etc. as served in many of the southern resorts and Bangkok.
  11. Unbelievable!! no gangplanks or ladders etc.
  12. Yes indeed, and as I have said on several occasions "Safe and Trusted Thailand" (TAT)!!
  13. Rubbish, IMO I bet he was involved in other rackets such as school lunches and wages for "foreign" teachers!! Interestingly, I lived in Phayao Province and I know what my local school "requested".
  14. Well I never, another Thai "business" out to make a quick buck!!!
  15. With the greatest respect to the moderators, may I repost a picture :
  16. Typical of Brits (and others) in showing respect, however congratulations to the pair in presenting their condolences.
  17. Regrettably, not just Thailand - back in December 2021: "Reports are coming in that at least 3 people have died and one is seriously injured after a devastating fire in a Siem Reap nightclub last night. The blaze happened at the Elite Club, in Asia Plaza Market." https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50981125/at-least-3-reported-dead-in-deadly-siem-reap-nightclub-blaze/
  18. With respect, I would not call a Soi Dog (or any dog) a best friend!!! As a child, I was attacked by a black Labrador in the UK. IMO Vietnam has the right idea (with apologies to dog lovers):- https://theworld.org/stories/eat-prey-love-vietnam-s-dogs-double-family-members-and-dinner
