BS - he is/was a very astute business man (yes, some will say corrupt) who brought modernization and prosperity to many ordinary folk across the North of Thailand, much to the resentment of the Bangkok establishment! I know, I lived in Lanna during his time in office and witnessed the transformations, especially in infrastructure and agriculture.

New public assembly ban imposed in Thailand to contain COVID-19
Burma Bill replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Quote from today's AN: Pattaya City officials are planning to deploy 273 officials to facilitate traffic during the Pattaya Music Festival 2022, which will begin its first round on August 5th and 6th. From OP: "banning unauthorised public assemblies and gatherings in the wake of clusters COVID-19 infections resulting in a rising number of hospitalisations, severe cases and fatalities, despite more people getting their vaccine booster doses". So, authorised assemblies are allowed and unauthorised ones are not, despite the risk of COVID-19 infection! IMO, this is not about cluster COVID-19 infections, it is about crushing anti government/military/establishment protests!! -
Not an actual price list but for general reference:- Richard Mille retail prices range between $60,000 – $1,300,000 MSRP. The average Richard Mille watch costs approximately $200,000 at retail MSRP. Complications, materials, and limited edition collections are all factors that contribute to how much a Richard Mille watch costs. (information from Google)

Where Do You Find Thai Information in 2022?
Burma Bill replied to Neeranam's topic in General Topics
I always use Google for information, a recent example being the locations of Karen Hill Tribe villages where the "long neck" ladies can be photographed with their gold rings. I have my answer in the Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Golden Triangle areas. Of course, if you are after "beer bar" gossip then Google no good. -

Thank you, I totally agree. During my 20 years living in Thailand, EVA AIR became my favored "direct" flight choice. Never flown to/from BKK with BA - always too expensive! On one occasion, my EVA flight to LHR was full and I was asked to "step down" being offered 1,000 baht cash, a hotel for the night in Bangkok and a seat on the next day's flight. As it turned out, this was not necessary as EVA re-booked me with THAI Business Class at no extra cost - I was a happy bunny!!

I've often wondered why. I can understand a post of a nice meal one is about to enjoy, but one as a memory from previous years is IMO beyond belief! Recently a FB friend posted a memory photo of a pizza taken 3 years ago titled "dinner"! -

For reference:- After a big reopening early in 2022, Krabi’s Maya Bay, at Phi Phi, is to temporarily close again on the 1st August (2022) for 2 months to allow time for the Thailand authorities to check the impact of the last few months of the bay being open. https://5starmarinephuket.com/2022/05/19/the-beach-maya-bay-closing-again-and-other-phuket-news-and-weather-may-2022/ -
My favorites which I have driven many years whilst living in Lanna: Mae Hong Son Loop from Chiang Mai (2 days needed). On northern section is Pai. Route 12 from Chumphae (Khon Kaen Province) via Nam Nao National Park, Lomsak and Khao Koh to Phitsanulok. Chiang Mai to Phayao among the mountains. Route 118 then route 120 from Mae Khachan, via Wang Nua to lakeside Phayao . Chiang Rai to Doi Mae Salong (hill top town among tea and coffee plantations). Chiang Rai to Doi Tung (Royal Villa mountain retreat with its extensive gardens and Akha Hill Tribe village). Whilst living in Isaan: Mekong Riverside drive from Nong Khai to Loei on Route 211 via Sri Chiang Mai to Chiang Khan then route 201 to Loei. Half way between Nong Khai and Chiang Khan is Wat Phatak Seua with its skywalk overlooking the Mekong into Laos (clearly signposted to the left off 211).

A very interesting question, thank you. Last night on You Tube in a neighboring country, I watched a documentary about aircraft (civil and military) being used as "play things". I'm sure this documentary would have been banned in Thailand. I will not elaborate so please do not ask any questions. It will be very interesting to see the final outcome.

"cryptocurrency" - sounds a scam to me so that certain people can get rich quickly! reference (wikipedia): a digital currency in which transactions are verified and records maintained by a decentralized system using cryptography, rather than by a centralized authority. "decentralized cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin now provide an outlet for personal wealth that is beyond restriction and confiscation"
