  1. There is only one current generation truck available in Thailand, and that is the Ford/Mazda.

Most of the others are one or two (Toyota) generatilns behind.

That being said, generally speaking, Fords after service is poor, and Toyota's is good.

You have to decide whether you want to buy the best truckmor a truck that has the best after sales service or resale value.

  2. Gotcha now. It'll all depend upon the price. Sadly, i can see a bit of piss taking happening on that score. If its anything like the Chevy price-wise hen they'll shoot themselves in the foot. Its supposed to be a Fiesta on steroids, not a Ranger with seats.

  3. It's not available yet. That must be a test car you saw. November officially starts orders but rumors on thai fan sites say end of year. Based on huge demand in India, I also expect a longer wait. We will order one soon as we can.

I doubt the success of the car in India will have an impact on Thai production as all Indian models are locally made.

  4. Yamaha Nuovo is by far the best quality automatic bike out there, and will keep its vaule far better than a Honda. Yamaha has had the best build quality for several years now. Yamaha also do a 4 speed semi-automatic - Spark - 135 cc and liquid cooled, like the Nuovo. Please buy good safety equipment.

The Yamahas also like to eat batteries at a quite alarming rate.

Bear in mind, you're talking about a cheap scooter, not a 'motorbike' so the differences between them all are minuscule. The known world swears by Honda, and that's where my money goes too.

  5. The 2.0L Camry is probably the worst car I have even driven with regard to performance. My old 1.3 L Capri I learnt to drive in had more 'go'. I'm also fairly certain that the brakes came off an Isaan tuk-tuk.

The 2.5 is by far a better car. Good choice.

  6. Taken from a bike forum from a member based in the US.

I've been doing ride swaps with the bro-in-law. I get his ZX-14 and he rides the CBR500R. Since then, he's decided he's sick of his ZX and wants to get rid of it. LOL...a classic example of usable power/fun in the conditions you ride every day. He wants to swap bikes.
  7. I have used Honda Jazzes and Toyota Vioses on the same Udon to Chiang Mai trip a number of times.

The Toyotas were significantly more frugal (used only about 2/3 the fuel of the Hondas) while significantly duller to drive. These are 2 or 3 year old models,

Give me a Fiesta or a Swift any day.
