Fair enough... IF so... why not just tell the truth ??... Poor language / communication ?

Why not just get the bosses phone number so the Op can speak with the ‘the boss’ directly and find out whats going on ???

probably its all about language and communication problems due to agency eng level VS OP thai level.

there is no thai company or agency or any business in thailand that will tell you the truth about whats going on. its thai way.

though i wouldnt wait no more 1-2 weeks from today

A missing boss is not something to take lightly - if his passport is currently being used for illegal activities and he does not report its loss there could be serious issues.

I do not believe this is the case but letting a 3rd party have access to your passport is not a good idea in the best of cases - and a "missing boss" (if real) is a huge red light.

well obviously OP know about this agency or introduced by a friend or likewise. or even used it before. so that means most likely they are legit. Again most likely they are having problems with the immigration officer. probably he is busy or lazy to do. or maybe hes asking for more money.

missing boss thing is just something to earn more time. I dont know the english level of the agency or OP's thai level but by missing the agency guys most likely wanted to say they dont know where he is at the moment or they cannot reach him at the moment.

i totally agree with your illegal activity warning though.

  3. you dont need to worry about your visa because if the agency going to do that time on the passport has no importance.

and i have friends using agencies. they all confirmed that this year things are really slow. normally they get their passport back in 4 weeks but this time it was 6 weeks. so i would say hang on and wait. there is no danger. the worst scenario is you will go to the police station and tell them you lost your passport then take the police report to your embassy.

that cannot find the boss seems just a lie. if the boss was not around they would never tell you about this. they are just trying to earn some time.

seems to me 2 different scenarios happening here:

    a) they really lost your passport and trying to find it. this is a very common thing even with the best known agencies.

    b) they are just waiting your passport from the immigration

just wait another 1 or 2 weeks then if the passport is still with you go and file a lost report at the police station. meanwhile call the agency every 2-3 days.

    good luck

I believe the OP said he was going to do a border hop from Vietnam to get another time period there and he was coming to Thailand to do that; however, on that "border hop" to Thailand, he is hoping to get a visa exemption rather than use his 60-day evisa which he wants to use on a subsequent entry into Thailand.  Again, I don't know but I'd think that when they swipe his passport at immigration on his first entry (the border hop), I'd think his evisa would show up (presuming the Thai immigration computers issuing evisas is communicating with the Thai immigration entry computers....which I'd guess is a sure thing).  As to whether the OP can then successfully ask the immigration officer to simply give him an exempt stamp (versus using the evisa), heck if I know (but I somewhat doubt it).  Anyway, good luck OP....and report back here once you do your border hop to Thailand.

So is there such a thing to 'freeze' your visa and use exempt visa?? That would be cool. Imagine people get a visa but never use it till the expire date but keep using exemp visas..

  5. Hi guys,

a friend of mine is working at a university and he has a visa and work permit from this university. He got a pert time teaching from another university.

part time university sent a letter to his full time university and asked if its ok they let him work with them and full time university accepted and send a letter to the part time university.

a week later part time university asked my friend's original passport and work permit so they can take it to the labor office and put a stamp or something similar to his work permit which will show he is working here as part time. So it will be 1 full time and 1 part time stamps on his work permit. part time university will show all the letters from both university's to labor office.

his question is: will it effect his full time job or will harm his visa or work permit some how? If the answer is no will he pay tax for this because it will be on his work permit too.

    thanks

  6. what are you smoking bro, i want too..

you were worrying about your residence ?! then you ended up extension of visa?!

were you applying for thai residence and ended up visa extension or you got your thai residence?!

Oh please, take another xanax and call up the basement stairs for your mum to bring you down some milk and cookies.

The OP is asking questions about a currently available, and legal visa that he would be eligible to apply for.  He was just checking if there was a school offering it in Bangkok in preference to Chang Mai.

Jeesuz there are some petty creeps on this forum.  No wonder the bulk of long term members have left.  If it wasn't for Sheryl's participation here I would be gone also.

Well, the door is there. Please do so.
