Israeli Who Escaped Quarantine Will be Charged and Deported
vinny41 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
There are many reports of the Thai Police reviewing the CCTV footage of the Bangkok Hotels, We must assume that they didn't release the footage becuase it had no added value i.e if someone was wearing a baseball cap sunglasses and a full face mask unlikely anyone could identify him in the street There are many detailed articles that state he had hailed a taxi from a hotel in Sukhumvit to a hotel in Pattaya Upon reaching hotel in Pattaya, it appears that travel documents and covid test documents must be presented. Respondent refused to show travel documents. We must assume he was unwilling to show passport as that would expose that he recently arrived in Thailand and the Hotel would question why he didn't have the results of his RT-PCR from his stay and go hotel. reports state that he rented a black Toyota Alphard van which police caught on CCTV in Chumphon Once the Police were monitoring Road Camera CCTV is was only a matter of time until they located the van at Nathon beach , Koh Samui, and then visit all the tourist locations nearby Unable to provide a link as forum rules state English language only -
Israeli Who Escaped Quarantine Will be Charged and Deported
vinny41 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Unlikely scenario as reported by the Times of Israel He traveled by taxi to the city of Pattaya, where CCTV footage showed him trying to check in at a hotel but being rejected because he refused to show his passport. On Saturday, he called the Bangkok hotel and said he was visiting a friend at a hospital and would return later that day, which didn’t happen. Baruch then reportedly turned off his phone on Saturday night and traveled back to Bangkok and then to the southern island of Koh Samui. https://www.timesofisrael.com/israeli-faces-thailand-jail-time-after-leaving-quarantine-evading-police-for-5-days/ If he left the Bangkok Hotel with the hotel aproval why would he 1) Refused to show his passport when attempting to check into a Pattaya hotel 2) Why would he phone the Bangkok hotel and advised them he was visiting a friend in a hospital in near Soi Phetchaburi 47 Bangkok and he would return to the Bangkok hotel later in the day 3) I think its virtually impossible for a farang to rent a vehicle without producing a passport 4) He must have been unlucky when selecting vehicle of choice as it didn't come with any usb ports for charging his phone hence he was unable to charge phone if battery had run dry or could be he simply turned the phone off -

Here is a US comparison specs might differ slightly for the Asean Market https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/sony-x950h-vs-sony-x90j/1777/21562?usage=1&threshold=0.10 Personally I went for the x950h and have no issue with black levels they are not inky black like an OLED but come pretty close I found the standard settings when opening the box to bright, brightness was set to 35 and colour was set to 60, I found brightness needs to be set to around 3 for SD and colour set to 50 This video is useful for both Android and Google sets as there are lots of icons that you might not require and they take up memory and screen space 11 Little-Known Hacks to Speed Up Your Sony TV Performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW1S68w4Uvc On the x950h if you reverse the feet i.e put left foot rightside and right foot leftside you can reduce the footprint of the stand down to 80cm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0z7QRCx_Gs if viewing in shops looking at the oled demos gives you a good idea of black levels performance -

If you not in a hurry I would wait for the 1st of January Both Shopee, Lazada have special promotions of the day of the month for example this tv you could buy for 32-34,000 baht direct from sony Thailand and delivered by Sony Thailand with 3 year warranty Another TV to checkout is the SONY KD-65X9500H main differences are the x9500h is much brighter than the X90J which is good for watching 4k. if you into gaming go for the x90j has it has hdmi 2.1 ports if you want best picture quality go for the x9500h X90J is mid range model launched June 2021 launch price 55,000 X9500H was the top of the range model launched Oct/Nov 2020 launch price 80,000 LCDTV Thailand is a good shop to buy from but if Sony Thailand is selling same price or lower buy from Sony Thailand Prices for both the x90j and x9500h were between 32k-35K on 12th December 2021 -
In many EU countries their in country laws state that Hotels should retain passports for the duration of stay here is UK Gov advise on living and working in Saudi Arabia It’s illegal to work without your sponsor being noted on your Iqama, and your sponsor will normally hold your passport, while you retain your Iqama. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-saudi-arabia My Point is your claim that "Under International law you are not allowed to surrender your passport to anyone" is false and we know that to be true because you are unable to provide any link to support such law as no law exists

Nissan Terra 2022 vs Isuzu Mux 2022
vinny41 replied to ilikethai's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
The 360-degree Surround View Monitor (AVM) was installed in all VL models since 2019, initally you coulld only view camera through rear view mirror , Nissan provided at cost upgrade at some point where you could view through both rear view mirror and the entertainment display unit. Some people choose to install aftermarket cameras that allow you to both view 360 and record 360 useful if some decides to key your car -

Nissan Terra 2022 vs Isuzu Mux 2022
vinny41 replied to ilikethai's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I would look closely at the manfacture year of the Nissan Terra there has been at least 2/3 model changes in the past 3 years, this time last year Nissan was offering 250,000-300,000 baht discount to shift current stock which does have an impact on used prices -
When Covid 1st started people were allowed to self isolate/ quarantine at home, that didn't last long as people just carried on as normal visiting friends, going shopping, going to restaurants/bars and hence that option was removed I suspect Hotels will be required to take passports on check-in and only returned with the PCR results. Here’s the timeline of Baruch’s recent movements: December 17 - Entered Thailand under the Test & Go scheme. Waited at his hotel in Sukhumvit area for his Covid-19 test result. December 18 – Left his hotel and returned a while later, claiming he visited his friend in hospital near Soi Phetchaburi 47. 2pm – Left the hotel again and called a taxi to Pattaya without showing his passport. He travelled in the area there before returning to Bangkok. December 19 - Rented a van to the southern provinces. December 20 - Went to Chumphon en route to Koh Samui. December 22 - Caught on Koh Samui. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40010335

If we go with your scenario. Why would he phone the hotel and say he would return later in the day, Why would he turn his phone off On Saturday, he called the Bangkok hotel and said he was visiting a friend at a hospital and would return later that day, which didn’t happen. Baruch then reportedly turned off his phone on Saturday night and traveled back to Bangkok and then to the southern island of Koh Samui. https://www.timesofisrael.com/israeli-faces-thailand-jail-time-after-leaving-quarantine-evading-police-for-5-days/

Some hotels required confirmation that you are fully vaccinated before you can check-in Agoda sent me this reply regarding my tweet that I was unaware that my hotel at the weekend had made it compulsory for all guests to be fully vaccinated otherwise they cannot check-in. According to Agoda, this is stated on their website. My apologies for not spotting this. https://mobile.twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1465214273626406918

My worst buy was a house in Turkey. I bought it on a whim and got a great deal but I shouldn’t have bought it. I never go out, I can’t sell it and it’s just sitting there." She added: "I bought it for €250,000 about eight years ago and I’d sell it half-price just to offload it. If anyone’s interested, contact me on Twitter if you want to buy me out.” https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/claire-sweeneys-flogging-house-twitter-5505622 As with anything research research research Many people have had their fingers burnt buying property in Turkey Paying 4/5 times more than a Turkish national would pay or buying in undeveloped that has been promised development that never happens -
