I am not mixing up warranty as I my original post never mention warranty as it not relevant in a car that requires repairing due to accident damage If I remember correctly is was yourself that introduced the term 8 year warranty which as i stated not relevant with a vehicle that requires repairing due to accident damage

The Inital repair cost for the Byd atto 3 was quoted at B1.2 Million including B900,000 for removing and replacing new battery Here he is being given a repair estimate of B1.2 million now a new standard model cost B1.1 milllion baht more than the cost of a new car which means the battery cost in relation to the whole vehicle is 81% which is unique situation compared to ICE vehicles where no single component part ever exceeds the cost ration of the vehicle by between 30-35% For the owner of the car the problem is also compounded that the capital maximum value of the vehicle was set to B1 million which means the breakpoint at which they scrap of 70% or in the case of a vehicle that has a capital value of B1 million B700,000 which is short of the original cost by B500,000 Personally I think what needs to happe with EV's they need to be insurance under a master policy that covers the EV with execption of the Battery and and the secondary policy covers the battery only And as to Capital value reductions that should happen to the main policy only the secondary policy that covers the battery its capital value should only be reduced if there is a major reduction in the price of batteries

My post was related to BYD cost of repairing a car that was involved in an accident I have yet to see any warranty papework that states the warranty includes replacement if vehicle is subject to an accident. Does the article mention that if removal and replacement of the entire battery unit from a Byd Atto3 cost more than the total price of a Top of the range Nissan almera and cash back in your pocket

I have already done my research thanks and if you do the same you will see loads of people have similar concerns

You could get 950Mb/s and faster from your laptop but is depends on a number of factors Chipset used in Laptop wifi card type of router used and your Internet threashold Here is a Tri-Band card that supports 2.4, 5 and 6GHz bands. You can achieve maximum speeds of up to 2400 Mbps on 6Ghz and 5 GHz bands and up to 574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. https://techsphinx.com/wireless/laptop-wifi-cards/

As I said we will have to wait any see the Byd atto3 repair costs reach the main news media outlets and they were shocked that a repair bill could exceed the price of a new car and that the replacement battery cost alone was the equivalent price of a Brand new top of the range Nissan Almera
-
We will have to wait and see Personally I think the ev sales will be less than last December as for most people the main issue is cost of battery repair and low capital values on EV especially if your battery needs replacing due to accident within a few weeks of ownership and Insurance company decides to write off vehicle as repair cost exceeds 70% of current value

Thinking about buying a used car in Thailand
vinny41 replied to SiSePuede419's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Not always the case there was a period of time last year where people were getting everyone in their families to reserve an electric car knowing that their was a limited supply and a 6-9 month lead time and then selling their reservation/q number for between B100-150K reserve 20 cars and they were looking at a profit of between B2-3 million -
Op should look at Current MG EP plus , new facelift 2023 MG EP price unknown until 23rd March and MG4 sightly over budget at B869K and the gwm ora good cat
-
Looking at Chinese prices there is very little difference in pricing between Han EV and Seal EV for pricing lower than the current 1 Million for atto 3 that might happen if Dolphin or Seagull ( both hatchbacks ) are released in Thailand https://inf.news/en/auto/48f5fedf3d8ad99c2c4a11625690beea.html

There is some discussion on facebook that indicate they Byd will reserve the name seal only for China and overseas markets it will be named atto 4 There are some rumors that the 1st Byd sedan to enter Thailand will be the Byd Han MG will be launching the MG EP 2023 facelift at the motorshow known as MG5 in the UK which is an estate car

No what I am suggesting is that you research and get 3BB to provide you with the best router for your current requirements and future requirements otherwise you will leave yourself open for 3BB to provide a router, will it be the best available , will it be the fastest available, will it offer the greatest coverage will it be wifi 6 capable if you choose not to request a router that has gigabyte ethernet ports or a router that is wifi 6 capable thats your choice Its like going into a car dealership and asking for a car and when the dealer asks what type of car you say I can't be bothered with the details he is going to sell you the car he wants to shift it may not be the best car for your requirements but since you haven't specified anything he hasn't done anything wrong Depending on how old your TV is it might have ethernet or wifi that only supports 100mbs , in the future your next TV might support 1000gbs via ethernet and wifi but if your router can only handle 500mps that is all your going to get if your laptop has a WiFi 6E Compatible Laptop WiFi card you need a router than can support Wifi 6E Most wifi 6e cards can run at speeds Tri-Band (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6GHz) support. Maximum speed of up to 2400 Mbps (6GHz), 2400 Mbps (5GHz) and 574 Mbps (2.4GHz). Now you will never get 2.4gbs will a 3bb 1 Gb connection but if your paying for 1GB internet connection then you will hope that you get as close as possible to that 1GB internet speed

In most ICE vehicles past and present no single component exceeds more than 30% of the total value of the vehicle In BEV currently you have a single major component that costs 70% of the total value of the vehicle some insurance companies looked at Covid as a business opportunity collect the insurance premium and not ever have to pay out https://www.efinancethai.com/LastestNews/LatestNewsMain.aspx?release=y&ref=M&id=ZEtZUlF5a0xZb1E9 -
Also check google playstore on your TV and make sure HBO GO and Disney Hotstar can be installed some members reported problems with Samsung TV as they have a different os to other brands Make sure that you request a router that supports supports Wi-Fi 6 https://droidsans.com/test-wifi-6-router-3bb-upgrade/
-
Do some research on what is the best router 3BB each province has it own selection of 3BB routers so are better than others when it comes to speed and wifi signal
-
If your getting Disney Hotstar free that is a good deal as normallly AIS charge either B49 per month or B499 for 1 year access https://www.ais.th/disney/

Cars built in the 50s depending on the brand they were built to last We seen 2 cases where the whole battery needed to be replaced gwm ora cost in the region of 600,000 approx cost and the recent Byd atto 3 where the total repair bill exceeded the price of a new car. As a rule early adopters get punished until the markets sort themselves out I expect EV insurance premiums to increase next year or they may decide to implement a sub policy with an associated premium for the battery only -

I think your overly optimistic with your 18 year lifespan each year your insurance company will reduce the capital value of your EV if during those 18 years there is an incident that requires the battery to be replace insurance company will look at the replacement cost of the battery including removing old one and installation of new one and if it exceeds 70% of the current market value of your EV they will simply write your EV off -

the price that the BYD centre quoted was from BYD so have they just reduced the price of the battery because of media coverage or is the price of 896,190 baht still correct as that includes removing the old battery and installing the new one -

Actually most brands tend to understate the range rather than overstate and many different factors can affect the range such as if the driver has a heavy foot or the car is loaded with 5 sumo wrestlers it never going to reach the published ranges -

Something the op should be aware of BYD ATTO 3 hits an island in the middle of the road The repair center valued over 1,000,000 baht. https://droidsans.com/byd-atto-3-damage-cost-1-mil-baht/ BYD center has estimated the total repair cost for this car at 1,167,571 baht (including Vat 7%). cost of replacing the battery alone is already 896,190 baht The insurance value is only 1 million baht. Causing the insurance company to request a refund of the sum insured because the repair cost is more than 80% of the car price
