6 monthly service - is this a scam?
vinny41 replied to MrMuddle's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Yes the vehicle warranty guarantee, What is more than likely here is a new person has started and they have been given 2 spreadsheets spreadsheet 1 is new car sales over the past year spreadsheet 2 is all cars serviced over the past year They have been told to contact everyone on that spreadsheet that a service is required every 6 months so last month they would have contacted people that either purchased or service a car in March 2022 This month they are doing the same for all sales or services in April 2022 if you check the Thia websites of the major brands Honda,Toyota,Nissan,MG for cars in Thailand service intervals are every 6 months or xxx number of km during the lifetime of the manufacturer's warranty guarantee Some wll advised that you should continue with the same service schedule after the manufacturer's warranty guarantee has expired some people do many people don't. I have found that some service centres similar to Kwik Fit can be more expensive than using a service centre from a brand because on the example a 40,000 km service there are many items that require checking for wear and tear and replacing if necessary. On non branded service centres I have seen some where they have taken the item that requires checking for wear and tear and replacing if necessary to mean simply replace everything rather than just check -

Thats incorrect its what ever is written in the service schedule which in Thailand is normally 6 months or xxx number of miles. The only vehicle that i am aware of that offers longer service schedule is Ford ranger which is 15,000 km or 12 months which ever comes 1st -

Depends on the Brand and model most Brands in Thailand during the warranty period ( which doesn't apply to you) require servicing every 6 months or xxx number of km. If the vehicle isn't service according to the Brand servicing schedule normally you will find your warranty is cancelled next time you try to claim Your wife should ask the company will they still provided warranty cover(free) on your 12 year old car -
All the posts I have seen this issue is only for the 2019 model the 2022 model has the larger 50.3kWh and the battery has the highest moisture protection rating of IP69X : Protection against high-pressure, high-temperature jet sprays, wash-downs or steam-cleaning procedures - this rating is most often seen in specific road vehicle applications (standard ISO 20653:2013 Road Vehicles - Degrees of protection). https://battery.cardekho.com/articles/mg-zs-ev-launched-battery-specification-explained

All the videos posted so far of driving in water have only shown one vehicle be driven in a flood no vehicles overtaking or coming in the opposite direction so it appears the wave factor of other vehicles is still an unknown
-
Which is fine for you But a large number of people have no choice they start work in the morning by the time they have finished work all the roads are flooded, trains buses suspended

The title of this thread is E.Vs in flood water and for your information according to MG India the MG ZS EV is IP67 : DUST & WATER RESISTANCE INDEX Backed by the most trusted safety standard-IP67, the MG ZS EV battery goes through 6 crucial safety tests, which include dust and waterproof assurance.* https://www.mgmotor.co.in/vehicles/mgzsev-electric-car-in-india/safety So we know its meets the ip67 rating IP67 can withstand temporary immersion in water of up to 1 meter for about 30 minutes What we don't know and all the videos posted so far have not indicate is how EV's handle with a 18 wheeler or any 4 wheel vehicle coming in the opposite direction at full throttle on a flooded road how they cope with the mini tidal wave that those vehicle produces. And due to the extreme rainfall in Thailand some people have no choice about not driving on flooded roads

If you buy an Ora Good Cat in the UK its had a name change new name for UK is Ora Funky Cat
-
I have seen some ev brands where they have stated they meet the IP67 requirements IP67 can withstand temporary immersion in water of up to 1 meter for about 30 minutes I haven't seen any ev Brands state they meet the IP66 requirements IP66: Dust-tight and protected against strong jets of water which is what you need if someone overtakes you or vehicle coming from opposite direction in flooded water where they have decided to floor their vehicle and it produces a mini tidal wave against your vehicle

Hopefully it works in a similar manner to the confirmation of payee process where the banks check the acoount name, account number and sort code match https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-8465903/Paying-online-youll-tap-names-EXACTLY-right.html For years in the Uk if you did bank transfers online or in branch and even if you put the name of the account of the recipient bank's didn't check name they just checked that account number and sort code was correct For the cash is king brigade sugggest you check your existing car insurance and invested in a fire proof case of you might end up like this unfortunate guy from pattaya Sad instead. The young man carried 1 million to the bank. The car caught fire, both the car and the money. https://www.sanook.com/news/8376010/

Size and how deep mattress is will affected the price If you going down that natural latex mattress route it is possible to get a king size 6 inch mattress for under 10,000 baht if you shop around How does a real latex mattress look? not to be deceived But for the compressed rubber, it weighs about 2 times more than a real latex mattress Should buy a latex mattress with a zippered mattress cover. so that it can be opened to check whether the mattress in it is a rubber mattress or not https://www.cozylatex.com/post/ท-นอนยางพาราแท-ด-ย-งไง-ไม-ให-โดนหลอก If mattress is real natural latex mattress (injected molded) it is possible to lift each corner of the mattress with one hand. Largest single width of single piece of natural rubber is 6 inches if you require more they single join the pieces together A 6 inch natural latex mattress should weight approx 60-70 kilos There is a youtube video of a Thai buying a very firm normal mattress no zip so unable to see content fillings it was very firm because when opening it up it contain 10 bricks to increase the mattress weight Its important on latex mattress to find out the density rating the higher the density the more firmness Extra firm density rating is 110 firm is between 90-95 anything below 80 is considered soft Some stores suggest if body weight is 300lbs or above extra firm density is more suitable
