I think reality is that most of us have people near us with a car. Tell your neighbors that you need to go urgently to the hospital and there should be someone who will help you. If necessary give them 1000B tip.
Disagree have a few already advised one day you might need them, tell them in advance you will pay 5,000 to 10,000 , MONEY MOTIVATES, and maybe you are still alive

PLEASE HAVE A PLAN, and practise it Ships have emergency drills do the same
I respond sharing my own experiences on this
If you own a car get in it drive to A & E where the ambulances stop ( if you do not own a car you should probably be in your home country), park as close to the door as you can get, ignore red and yellow lines, have your flashers going
Do not wait for the ambulance, you may die in the process
They will put you on a trolley
Give them the car keys, I have done this a few years ago when haemorrhaging vast quantities of blood through my ass, I was in intensive care very quickly; medium sized bill but OK, I self insure., was given three litres of new blood, and many tests
That time I drove at 3.00am as I am quicker with my wife constantly checking I was not going to loose consciousness, and I said if I felt I was I would let her take over the driving
My wife knows the routine knows the way HAS DONE IT and can do it under pressure, about 26 kms for us
If stopped by police ask for escort to the hospital, I just show my colostomy bag does wonders, the police are not stupid
Make sure you are preregistered and have a card, at your hospital of choice, (choose carefully or your bill could be awful) for us that is SRINAKARIN KhonKaen, a large teaching hospital, (Main government hospital in KhonKaen too busy too often) where they can cope with any emergency we do not stop at the small hospital in Bangfang , it just wastes time, and time can save lives
If on arrival the doctors say false alarm, apologise and smile, YOU ARE STILL ALIVE, if a day later again an emergency repeat the plan
Stay happy keep smiling

He is the top colirectal surgeon and can manage yoyr anal fissure, hemoorhoids etc. For gastritis he may refer you elsewhere.
I underwent 13 hrs on the operating table, at Chulalongkorn under this man, he did remote surgery I have no scars !!!! and believe him to be the very best, nice man as well
To get original appointment you need to preregister with Bangkok Christian and be there several hours before the clinic opens like 6.00 am for 1 0clock clinic, my loving wife did most the waiting

Many contradictions
Proposals put forward by transport minister Saksayam Chidchob to DLT officials and the police say that Thai drivers will only be banned when they have accumulated 100 points on their licences, claimed a section of the Thai media.
According to points already proposed this would mean having to be caught drink driving a staggering 25 times before you would be off the road for a year.
Alternatively you could go through 50 red lights or go the wrong way down a road 50 times before being banned.
You would have to flee the scene of an accident 34 times before losing your licence.
Or drivers could look at their phone 100 times or motorcyclists could ride on the sidewalk or not wear a helmet 100 times before they were obliged to put the keys away for a year.
MThai.com said this was all part of encouraging Thais to be better drivers. Saksayam is making the proposals to the Department of Land Transport and the Thai Police, they claimed.
The media also said that when 100 points is reached a driver could take the test again and get a new licence. But if they amassed 100 more points that would be it - a lifetime ban from driving.
German and Swiss testing procedures are also being studied to upgrade the Thai driving test, they reported.
MThai.com said that the following points system applied:
One point: Using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt or helmet, riding on the sidewalk
Two points: Going through red lights or going the wrong way
Three points: Organizing street racing, fleeing the scene of an accident or driving under the influence of drugs
Four points: DUI and driving while intoxicated with 200mg of alcohol in the blood and causing injury or death
Thaivisa cautions that this report - and its interpretation by us here - makes a stark contrast with previous proposals to ban drivers after they amass just 12 points.
The claim about getting 4 points for 200 mg of alcohol seems odd, we further note, as the limit for DUI in Thailand is just 50 for experienced drivers.

Nice to know I am not the only one concerned about kids and motor bikes, the first bike lasted six months before I finally took it back and sold it, he was refusing to wear crash helmet all the time, removing mirrors, disconnecting mile meter so could not monitor and going outside agreed set limits
At the same time he was banished to temple for two years
When he came back he went to hotel school, on a push bike, for the first year, recently got him a nice motor bike again and so far so good, he is respecting the rules most of the time
We do not want him killed like many other young kids
I still think about a GPS, or maybe just tell him one is fitted and well hidden !

I have been dealing with all the illogical moves of immigration for ten years, currently on marriage extension, we try very hard to get it right first time, stay up to date on the rules, but never succeed, even had a colour photocopy rejected, not black and white
And yes the stress it causes is unkind and unnecessary
Personally maybe I will ask the wife to request one specific officer in the office to assist for a fee, as I am getting old, and full of cancers, maybe just have to accept oiling the wheels is necessary, they do have the power to make our lives hell
OR use an agent
I will happily pay for an easy time

They do DaVinci prostate surgery at Siriraj.
Reversal of colostomy is a very, very simple surgery and no reason not to do it. Why live with a colostomy when you don't have to?
They do DaVinci prostate surgery at Siriraj.
Interesting, I was not aware of this, however I still prefer to have it done where it is very common, in India the cost was advantageous, I pay all my own bills
Reversal of colostomy is a very, very simple surgery and no reason not to do it. Why live with a colostomy when you don't have to?
When I knew I was going to have a colostomy I was very upset, and still do not like it
But then life is a compromise
On other forums cancer and related, I have read many horrors and problems on reversal
I have made no decision
I have consulted other colorectal surgeons for opinions
Dr Chucheep talked about retraining my bowel, well before all of this I had some problems there occasionally, like three or four times a year, and would be worried about retraining; my sphincter is working and I can feel it
I know he wants to do it and I joke with him he just wants to show his students again about how good he is ! I have a very high level of trust in this man he also says he knows how well I investigate and evaluate
A lady from south thailand had similar surgery in USA about the same time as me, and reversal and still has to irrigate daily
If I reverse and it does not work, then another operation to reverse it, and two operations to be back at square one, and then my cancer returns, and if it does I may say no more operations, I am grateful for my life so far, my book is halfway through
I am 75 and not strong my legs are going and I have swollen feet, and struggle to walk; I am overweight
If I become bed ridden and need nursing, a colostomy bag is a big plus for those nursing
Will my cancer come back
I have now been diagnosed with skin cancer as well as colorectal and prostate
I believe none of these will be my cause of death
I do consider all the associated risks and benefits carefully, risk assessment has always been a big part of my life and I am good at it
I know where I am at the moment, if 45 a very different story, I see Dr Chucheep again in June, and I appear to be treated as a local as regards billings, for which I am very grateful
My immediate priority is my legs and finding in KhonKaen a nutritionist and agree exactly what I can and can not eat, and persuading my wife, not to constantly feed me snacks
I am also wondering about glutin and its effects on me
So far this year we have done 4 weeks on cruise ships and plan four more next year for my 75 birthday, and my wifes 44 a few days away from mine
Or spend more time in hospital !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But still a difficult choice

More on Prostate
Interesting Utube, and relevant to prostate
I hope I am not breaking rules by referencing this
It talks about how different ways of surgical treatment of Prostate and how the older ways can give a greater risk of damaging nerves and other things and then can influence erectile disfunction, I personally found it very informative and helpful as a non medical person

Sheryl and spoorn, many thanks for the advice and support. A second blood test gave a reading of 20.4. I have seen Dr Chucheep at BCH and he has me down for a CTH of chest and abdomen a week tomorrow. So we (or I) will see.
I just got back from seeing Dr Chucheep, I rate him very top, for colorectal, however for prostate my Dehli surgeon is way ahead of anything in Bangkok Dr Chuckcheep was asking me about my holep surgery this week and how they did it
I do not believe Devinci prostate surgery can be presently done in thailand, mine to my horror was done under epidural anaesthetic
Dr Chucheep is at present urging me to have reversal, and stoma closed, then retrain my bowel, at present I am not sure and sitting on the fence, reversal is two hours surgery vs the original eleven hour surgery
I made one mistake on the prostate, I had biopsies from thailand that said, no cancer so I chose Holep surgery, (inside of prostate enlarged by laser,) with hind sight should have had it removed, but bigger and more expensive operation
It was only when the removed parts were sent for biopsy that cancer was found
My Dehli surgeon told me this is not uncommon and happens in many cases
My MRIs this month were good, more checks and ultrasounds in June
PSA again I only talk from personal experience, it is very helpful to have results over a few years and compare trends
My own PSA is again climbing and my prostate cancer still active
PM me if you need my phone number always happy to assist others, I have referred three others to India

For several years I did retirement extensions
About eight years ago I switched to marriage extensions, although more onerous on paper work because I felt the authorities would be less likely to change the rules here
For those on retirement extensions, who can be eligible for marriage extensions although more onerous on the paper work, and you have a month in limbo, I would strongly suggest you consider this option.
To start making life too difficult by changing the rules on spouse might be something the authorities sensibly chose to leave alone, do it now and you may be able to remain grandfathered in.
We are in Thailand and new rules could come anytime for new marriage extensions

Prof. Chucheep, best specialist in Thailand and a really nice man to boot
For colorectal probably one of the best in the world, there is a utube video of him, an exceptionally nice man, I am seeing him at Chula again next Thursday, for routine follow up and generally at this time of the year I take him a nice bottle of malt whiskey.
I was operated on by him and his team, for 13 hrs at Chula two years ago, all done through keyhole surgery, no big scars, first met him three years ago, when he referred me to a top oncologist, for radiation and chemo, at Chulalongkorn.
Dr Chucheep is a professor at the teaching hospital and earns little when working at Chula, he is of a much forgotten type, wishing to do his very best and achieve excellence, at the expense of earning high monetary rewards, a true caring professional, sadly not so common these days
My cancers colorectal and prostate, appeared to go after the radiation and chemo, to the amazement of all the doctors, but they came back, 9 mths later, Dr Chucheep gave me the option of being operated on at the Bumrungrad or Chula, I asked him where the facilities gave him the chance of doing the best job, he said no difference, I was admitted within two weeks! to Chula, GodBless the UK NHS I wonder how long. would have been the wait there !
Dr Chucheep also told me due to my large size and weight it would be very challenging operating on me, but he liked a challenge, we both survived !, we always joke a lot when we meet, I think he likes me, or maybe its my young wife! which helps, and also understands my bad english humour
This saved me very very substantial sums by going to Chula, I pay my own bills, I had a private room on the 23 floor of the new building overlooking lumpini park
I first met him at Bangkok Christian hospital, my wife went there at 4.00 am to queue for a 1.00 pm appointment, and God helps those who help themselves, we just turned up no referral and said we would like to see him, I had a summary and copy MRIs
He has a colleague Dr Hirachani at Bangkok Hospital in Phuket they qualified together a while ago, who I took a second opinion from and he gave me an estimate ten times greater, but gave me an hour and a half discussing matters, and when I enquired how much he said no charge, he just said give my kindest regards to my friend Dr Chucheep
At Chula he normally has a few beautiful female trainees following him round, and I always comment he is not only a good surgeon but the best dressed man at Chula, he smiles as do his student who also adore him.
I was exceptionally lucky to wind up with him and his team, several well qualified post grad doctors, looking after me, as a foreigner Chula is difficult to get into, and by going to Bangkok Christian first maybe one finds a backdoor into Chula
I doubt if I could have found better anywhere in the world, and I say thank you to all who helped me achieve this
He will also personally do a colonoscopy, on a no pain two shot anaesthetic, at the specialist colonoscopy clinic at Chula
I will willingly communicate either by PM or phone if any one needs more specific detail
Remember Christmas is coming and there are some excellent Doctors in thailand, at very affordable costs, just be careful, I also have a long list of horror stories, CHECK OUT YOUR DOCTOR FIRST
God Bless stay positive, AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Very interesting, some interesting competitive prices being exposed, many scream and shout about extortionate costs here, but personally I have had some very very excellent care at very affordable costs, I pay my own bills, I would say no insurance you need to be able to raise very quickly 1.0 m, my failsafe is still back to UK and say catch
Some minuses wait often 2/3 hrs for appointment, and same day but then UK 2/3 months if lucky, results from last MRI copy disc they will not post have to wait 4 days so wife has to go KhonKaen BKK and KhonKaen, inconvenient yes, but still overal very good
PLAN FOR THE WORST and hope for the best, AND HAVE A PLAN
