Many offices are now requiring the 400k baht stay in the bank during the under consideration period.

There is no written rule stating that but it is a requirement set by the immigration division headquarters (Division 4 in your case) that approves your application. It could also be a directive from the immigration bureau sent out to them.

Thank you we were obviously ill informed, and caught off balance,  the question has been answered, maybe close the topic, we have no strong view

  2. We thought we knew the rules, did  our 10th marriage extn at KhonKaen this morning, and  found we were not up to date on the rules

The marriage confirmation from local Ampur was rejected since it was not dated July, it was dated June 28 got replacement

400,000 Deposit, bank letter etc done BUT now told we can not touch it until our date for visa collection, (Sept 15 2019) this was never the case before, is there a government statement on this, we had promised builders this money this week, so effectively 400,000 tied up two months plus six weeks, if the money not there visa will not be issued. We were told by the boss lady very firmly,  if we do not like it do not get visa extension

It is the sudden change in rules that is the upsetting point

We requested a copy of the rules and were ignored

I thought grandfather in rules meant that original rules kept going so long as no break in continuity

    Any input appreciated

If you have been living in Thailand for the past 12 years you will not be entitled to free medical care on the NHS if you return to UK.

Misleading I believe, so long as you were fully paid up on NI contributions, and are returning permanently, and subject to the assets you still have they will do the rest

One hour before heathrow, throw a fit and insist on ambulance to meet you, and all will be taken care of

I generally refer to those 75 plus

  4. We like wallet because refunds go there quickly, no waiting

Had the same problem on wallet, could not top up any more, so opened account in my wifes name, and top her account up before lazada wallet

Today had to reverify wife info, and enter her name in Thai, some cutting and pasting as we do not have thai keyboard I told them after chat lasting 50 mins I love EBAY

Lazada service has gone to the dogs, just beat them with Office of consumer Affairs and got full refund on an item they were refusing to refund

SAD they used to be so good and I thought honest

However we buy dog food 60 kilos at a time delivered from Bangkok FOC and substantially below what we pay in KhonKaen

I would suggest the OP proceed carefully. Defamation laws are such in Thailand that the truth is not a defence. His best option would be to get the defects repaired, then sell it. Use the proceeds to buy a TATA.

I established a long time ago Fords are crap vehicles. The best example of that was an Australian Grand Prix, when the two Ford entries pulled up to the starting grid after the warmup lap, and burst into flames 20 seconds apart.

Excellent good sensible advice, defamation can not be used if it is in the public interest but difficult to establish

Only problem is we had a  new Honda, and followed advice above, then we bought a new SUBARU , we raised the question of misrepresentation a month after delivery, we have received several lawyers letters threatening defamation, despite the fact we paid 1.2M we wrote to Japan, got nowhere

Sadly gave the fight up, we live in Thailand, know its third world, no real consumer protection, I am sad to hear Ford also do little to help

We have choices stay and accept or leave !!

Next year I will be over 70. Our car is in my wife's name and she is licensed, so I'll just list my wife as the primary driver....she's 55. Then, I will choose the coverage where only those over 30 are allowed to drive the car, so as an unnamed secondary driver I would qualify regardless of being over 70.

Our car is and always has been in wife's name ,she is the primary driver, and we choose the coverage of over 30, and declared husband will drive at age 74 NO PROBLEM competitive pricing, so far we have ten yrs no claims, may it long continue
