I think the question being asked is the same one that interests me and that is whether or not the Bangkok Bank Thailand app will let you send to an overseas account in your own name, I have heard from several sources that it will not. I understand the first part of our reply above but the part in bold confuses me.

I seem to think that you CAN send THB to say GBP IF it is first converted into GBP , at THEIR rate, and then THEIR fees are applied. Try Dee Money.

Can I cancel my debit card account with Bangkok Bank an keep just an ordinary account, "is that a current account?" Can I still transfer money from my UK bank to my Bangkok bank through Wise?

You can cut the Debit Card in half and throw it away. The account will still be active.

And yes, Wise will still send money to it.

2 hr rule....hot foods hot cold food cold......after 2 hrs the bacteria starts.....rice is a big culprit here as well and poor hygiene....  touching money and food also--street food...unwashed produce

Exactly what I learned at hygiene/cooking course many years ago.

But here, my Mrs cooks dishes and a pot of rice for the family first thing in the morning and it is left out on the table for folks to help themselves as and when they want. No-one seems to get any tummy problems, but I give it a miss.

I heard that at KFC they discard any chicken over 4 hours old. A tub was left on the table for over 24 hours.

At Thai fried chicken stalls, I wonder how long since it was cooked, and what happens to the un-sold stuff.

this goes over my head I guess. The reflective part is facing DOWN? I thought it was supposed to face up towards the sun?

Very little sunlight will penetrate your roofing.

To me, it is virtually unheard of for blood to be drawn from an artery in an outpatient setting. I think it's 100% from a vein. The only place you might have blood taken from an artery is in the emergency department or if you are admitted and have a severe condition.

    Yes, sorry. I was wrong.

I would reconsider going there for other than really simple, clearcut issues.

Where ard uou located? It is usually worth a bit extra travel to attend a higher level hospital.

Both a top-level Private hospital, and the local Government hospital asked me not to eat or drink 8 hours before a blood test.

Some more fluid in your veins makes it easier to get blood samples. So drinking water is not a problem.

Does drinking water really thin your blood down? And it is taken from an artery, not a vein.

    I would assume so.

What a load of baloney. Blood for testing is taken from ARTERIES.

  9. I was told as a rule of thumb, that a conventional, old style 18000 BTU a/c takes 1800 watts when running, which is about 8.2 AMPS.

It can take double that to start up, so 16.5 amps maximum.. Inverter models do not need the high current to start up.

Your 30 amp breaker should be plenty. The breaker is there to protect the wiring, not the a/c.

If you have an Android phone, then Google Maps Timeline saves all your moves all the time.

And you can look for any moment in time 24/7 in which location you were.

The following map is low resolution from me in 2023. Bangkok and Phnom Penh. I cold lookup my location for 23 Feb, 13:15, just an example.

I can zoom in to every single house on that map.

I could look at any location, i.e. Nana Plaza, and find out when I was there for how long, etc.

In theory it is possible for the user to switch this off. But will it switch it off? Or will it just not let the user see the data anymore.

All this is saved in the cloud. We can be sure the NSA and other can look at every detail if they want to.

I think something like that also exists for Apple, but I am not familiar with that.

    Edit, one evening in Nana

I just tried it and it told me that my Location History is turned off, so nothing to show. If you don't want Mr G to know where you have been, turn the 4..ker OFF!
