  1. Totally agree Mr Next.
  2. No there is not. The SSD and RAM are easily accessible without taking the ribbons for the keyboard and mousepad off if you are careful. If not, they go back easily. Well that's on my Asus Vivobook.
  3. What a great song. Never heard it before. Could use it in an ad for this.
  4. If that's what you think, OK. I totally disagree with your first statement though. So if you start with say 16GB RAM, plenty plenty for W11, and are very careful when you open it up to clean your fan, it should last just as long as one with 4GB RAM using Linux.
  5. Marmaalde were a really great band, originally called The Gaylords! Saw them in UK in 1968 supporting a band called Ambrose Slade! And then in a pub in Germany in 1978 in their 'leaner' years.
  6. These BeeLink are good PCs from personal family experience.
  7. Thanks Mike, and get well soon. I did read it carefully, and have come to the conclusion that what my Taxman told me is correct.
  8. How and why would the OS affect the longevity of a laptop please?
  9. Yes it certainly is unfair. 65k x 12 = 780k. There is a Old Person's 190k allowance, plus 60k = 250k. Then the first 150k is at 0% tax, and then 150 - 300k at 5%. So you are liable for 5% on 300k plus 10% on 80k. Total tax = 15k + 8k = 23k for the year. Figures given to me by my local Tax Inspector. Got it in writing.
  10. So what please is the situation if the transfers ARE made from savings earned before 1 Jan 2024? The Simple Tax Guide was not so simple, for me anyway. The figures I quoted earlier were those given to me by my local Tax Inspector.
  11. Only filed last October 2023 with help from local Taxman. Told him exactly the truth, only my UK State Pension was being transferred (they accept the Combo Method at my IO). The details I posted earlier are exactly what he told and wrote down for me. I am happy with that. My pension goes into my Wise GBP account, and is transferred in THB on 1st of each month.
  12. How would Somchai Taxman know, or be able to find out without legal permission. Just tell them it was from 2002.
  13. From the first post.....Ms. Urai Phorn
  14. Confusing. Quote from Simple Tax Doc. If we take the simplest type of income and say that you transfer personal savings from overseas to Thailand and those savings were earned before 1 January 2024, those funds are not taxable
  15. Agree, that's what I asked. Seems confusing.
  16. Please post a link to this Guide. Thanks.
  17. Do you mean savings which I put in my UK bank in say year 2000?
  18. I would argue that my State Pension comes from savings taken from my salary 50+ years ago
  19. The guy said that he transfers what is need into Thailand. So that is considered as income.
  20. Using the above tax allowances etc, anything over 400k is liable for tax. You must register for a TIN if your income is over 120k.
  21. Do you need to transfer 65k per month to keep your Retirement Extension? 65k x 12 = 780k. There is a 190k allowance, plus 60k = 250k. Then the first 150k is at 0% tax, and then 150 - 300k at 5%. So you are liable for 5% on 300k plus 10% on 80k. Total tax = 15k + 8k = 23k for the year.
  22. In Gilbert & Sullivan's Iolanthe opera, someone is described as 'A Parliamentay Pickford, he carries everything' Very clever words.
