Sorry Ralf, but I just do not understand your problem. The laptop is on a shelf which slides in and out in order to access the keyboard, but you need to disconnect all the cables. Needs a re-think.

I think you need to re-route the cables to save yourself ALL that hassle. I do not understand anyone who finds pressing an ON/OFF button a PITA. Turn the PC on BEFORE you start the re-wiring.

The sound coming out of the speaker will then go back into your microphone, causing distortion and echo. Using a pair of headphones/microphone should clear that problem, wired or wireless. I use a pair of Bht200 wireless earbuds perfectly with my phone and PC. ZOOM (and Whats App, Messenger, Skype etc) however usually needs a camera which can have the mic built in. Make sure you are using the headphone mic and not the camera one.
