Just now, Matzzon said:No, I do not side with tyranny. I am just of the nature that I believe that the presence of USA in all places they do not belong, is something that leads to conflicts which they of course are quick to point out that they solve when something happens. The question is, would it have happened without the provokative presence of a country that needs to control the world?
Ah there he says it:
"I believe that the presence of USA in all places they do not belong, is something that leads to conflicts..."
Such as international waters keeping sea lanes open to international shipping so guys like this can enjoy the sweet fruits of our risk. All the while crying about it.

Since when is the Gulf a USA Coast?
The USN patrols to keep sea lanes open against oppressive regimes like Iran that fires on innocent civilian shipping and the CCP in the South China Sea which has tried to claim the entire South China Sea as theirs, and regularly threats neighboring countries civilian fishing and other commercial vessals.
Obviously I am dealing with yet another person who is either ignorant of - or condones such behavior. Yet another who supports such regimes while finding fault in Western Democracy.

Wow, all these posts over a story of Iranian boats encroaching on a US vessel? I hope you can at least understand why some observers may find this logic quite bizarre.
It almost seems like a job for them. Like they punch some weird Party approved clock and then begin posting.

Okey! I stand corrected. Then it´s the US and UK that has problems understanding the territorial borders. Oh yes! I forgot. You and WalkingOrders as well.
You don't stand corrected you stand on the side of Tyranny and lies and can't recognize the good guys from the bad.
You support the Iranian regime and other similiar regimes like the CCP despite all of your feigned pretense of standing for truth.
You just rail against all that attempt to hold back really really evil powers in this world. Don't try to call me out into your skewed world vision again.
I have no time to deal with those ignorant of geostrategic relationships, grand strategy, foreign relations, or history.

I've never met an Iranian I didn't like, although their leadership is horrendous. I'd say the same about America but I've met plenty of Americans I haven't liked.

US military sees it as international waters, but that changed 1972. Guess they have not been updated.
Referring to post #21International waters. And if they keep playing they will die needlessly and rest on the bottom of the sea. All because of a rotten to the core Ayatollah!

Nope! It´s only USA that refuses to recognized a territorial shiftment of Oman in 1972.
Keep siding with regimes that torture and murder their own people while stifling their freedoms.

The game of playing with US forces in international waters eventually leads to the offending ships being sunk. Keep your eyes open for news out of the South China Sea.

What are you saying, that the Beatles stole that song?
Nah man...just making a joke about a song about Hitler from a movie because someone managed to squeeze Hitler into the conversation.

Good. Continue to investigate. And don't believe a damn word from the totalitarian, murderous, lying Communist Party of China, nor any of their cowardly sympathizers operating globally!

I assume the US Naval vessel was in International Waters, as is their right. I also assume that the Iranian vessels were either in International Waters or Iranianian sovereign waters, which is their right. If the Iranian vessels were truly a threat, I have no doubt the USN would have fired on them. It is a non story. Hopefully it enhanced the learning of the USN officers in command in understanding what is and is not a threat.
I am a Ret Navy Chief. Its not a non-story. A ship that has to take evasive maneuvers, go to General quarters, man its weapons, and or fire up fire control radars, put missiles on rail, and attempt to hail a potential threat while watching their every move, knowing they are in international waters is....pretty serious....
and the Iranians....and Chinese play this dangerous game all the time, one move the wrong way results in dead people.

8 hours ago, Matzzon said:Yeah, i will suppose that Iranian wessels are more normal and have much more right to be in the gulf, than a couple of American warships. Maybe they should consider that factor before complaining. Another possible action would also be to leave the Gulf.
Its not about complaining. Its about small craft performing dangerous maneuvers in vicinity of US warships which causes said warships to in turn take evasive actions including putting missiles at the ready and possibly firing up Fire control radars, or missiles on rail in case of Iranian aircraft.
That kind of threat that causes a ship to go to General Quarters, and prepare for battle is not funny, as the potential exists for human beings to be evaporated in a matter of seconds followed by all that paperwork.
Iran does this regularly to test US resolve. One turn the wrong way and dead people result. Complaints about such behavior happen for reason.
And its international waters
and a Nation that plays such games in International waters takes risks with their own people.
I hope the equally disgusting and foolish CCP cease their games in the South China Sea as well.

I assume the Iranian boats were in Iranian waters and the US was 'testing their defences' by ignoring their sovereignty over those Iranian waters.
The United States patrols international waters and has no need to venture into Iranian waters. As someone who has served in the area I can tell you for fact Iran regularly puts their own ships and planes at risk by testing US resolve in international waters. The US Navy should sink them next time.

They should have sunk the Iranians. With Napalm.

Remember when biden offered Mr. Trump to talk recently!
Wouldn't that make for a great round table in the oval office in front of the reporters and millions of Americans?
Joe Biden is NOT the President, nor is he in Government, nor deserving of a seat at the table of decision making, to advise, or give advice to the President. The guy is half brain dead by appearances and can offer nothing.

Here is one reliable source that contradicts your hypothesis, displayed in one of the most reputed scientific publication. Which scientific source is supporting your hypothesis?
"It is improbable that SARS-CoV-2 emerged through laboratory manipulation of a related SARS-CoV-like coronavirus. As noted above, the RBD of SARS-CoV-2 is optimized for binding to human ACE2 with an efficient solution different from those previously predicted7,11. Furthermore, if genetic manipulation had been performed, one of the several reverse-genetic systems available for betacoronaviruses would probably have been used19. However, the genetic data irrefutably show that SARS-CoV-2 is not derived from any previously used virus backbone20. Instead, we propose two scenarios that can plausibly explain the origin of SARS-CoV-2: (i) natural selection in an animal host before zoonotic transfer; and (ii) natural selection in humans following zoonotic transfer. We also discuss whether selection during passage could have given rise to SARS-CoV-2."

It's not MY hypothesis. Look things up, come to your own judgement and believe accordingly. There are contradictory reports everywhere. Stop trying to win. You could just as easily find contradictory information but you wont post that as you are in a convincing game. You got skin in the game one side or the other?

Are they too afraid to set up a system where they can watch speakers from another room and stagger their entrances into the room to cast their votes? I'm not buying it. It's political grandstanding in the midst of a crisis. Oh, how I wish for a 3rd, or even a 4th party.
Don't even pay attention to this <deleted> by either party. As crisis develops necessity will find a way to survive. Pragmatic voices will figure things out off camera, and as they roll out a spin machine of blaim or credit taking will go into efect of political positioning, but the thing (s) will get done amongst all the grandstanding. NECCESSITY will guide policy. Don't worry about the POTUS trying to take all the credit, or the opposition trying to cast all blame or vice versa.

Hitler was influential and innovative. Am I supposed to like him too?
I love that song,

They stole that from him in that movie "The Producers"

Better songwriters, perhaps? Don't think there's any perhaps about it.
Okay, I concede on that. You are right the Beatles were far and away better song writers. I think I have been listening to more Stones lately. But I was definately wrong Beatles are the master song writers tremendous original lyrics and melodies.

A great band performs as a band and does so greatly. That is NOT the Beatles and never was.
Great albums in studio with effects and orchestrations? Yes. Better songwriters? Perhaps. More imagination? Yes. Better band? Not a chance by any measure.

I've been following this closely. I could really use the cash. I'm a teacher and was supposed to have work over the holiday, but summer school was canceled.
It's going to a vote tomorrow. Last I heard, the first payments of up to either $1000 or $1200 could go out April 6. There might be a second payment in May, depending on how things go. It's mostly tied to your 2018 taxes. Good thing I did them, and declared my foreign income here.
Looks like they're trying to squeeze in Social Security recipients as well: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/20/coronavirus-rescue-checks-may-shortchange-americans-on-social-security.html
Keep an eye on the news tomorrow. Hang in there man.

Thank you for choosing the Iranian Mullahs and the totalitarian CCP over established Democratic republics. This is who you are. Embrace yourself. Thank you for letting me know who I am speaking to. The story here is about a US warship in international waters being harrassed. You defend Iran and likewise the CCP playing the same game against several countries in South China Sea, just like Iran does not choose to harrass the USA alone but bother many in the Persian Gulf.
