Like many others here, just because I don't like these conditions. It's not a matter of hotel ASQ price. I just want to choose the place where I go, not being like in jail. If only people who agree with thai govt policy would have the right to post, you wouldn't have much to read

Being asked to stay home, or in an hotel you chose, for 24 hours is ont hing. Asking to stay in a SHA or AQ hotel is another thing. I will not come back. When I was in Greece last summer, only non vaccinated people (I was vaccainated) had to stay 1 night wherever they wanted. Tests were free and people tested positive were supposed to be transferred to another hotel for quarantine at Greek governement's expense.

That means one night quarantine or more if you do no get the test result after one night. You have to book an hotel and cannot stay elsewhere. And bars still closed. I'll wait till situation is back to normal : I will come to enjoy my stay, not to subsidize thai economy, even if I am more worried about thai economy than the junta istself.

Same all over Europe if you are vaccinated.

Same for France. UE is a colander. Restrictions for people enterring legally, but illegal can do whatever they want and are even given free health insurance and home !

In France illegal immigrants are paid to accept being deported and they don't pay for the flight. I guess the same there.

Once you entered EU, not much risks to be deported if you don't agree. Around 10% of illegal immigrants are actually deported, unfortunatelly.

I experienced only Phuket, Pattaya and Koh Samui but I much prefer the mediterranean sea greeks islands. Generally the water is more crystal clear and cleaner in Greece than in Thailand and in Thailand the water is too warm, like being in a soup.

They should make it even easier than before Covid-19 with less paperwork and, why not?, automatically extend for one year extensions that expired during the pandemic.

When applying for a Non O visa (over 50yo) in France, they ask for a letter from my bank certifying I jave at least 6 000 euros on my bank account in France each of the past 3 months. If I apply for a Non O visa at immigration office in Thailand, am I in the case described in this document (TM.87) : 8. Documents to be submitted for Change Visa – FOR RETIREMENT PURPOSES – 50 YEARS OLD (NON-O)and only need a letter fomr french embassy in Bangkok : " (together with reference documents showing the source of monthly pension)" seems to be new. Up to now there is not reference to anything on the letter my embassy gave me for extensions. I don't know if they will add it. as for : Up to now they just asked me my address and to draw by hand the map of the location. I have no rental agreement (only apartement hotel booking or AirBnb booking) and will have no rental receipt for past three months if I just arrived on visa exempt. It seems to be new too.
