Yes french embassy provided such income letters, I used that method for my 1st and second extension. I needed not to show monthly transfers. The second extension expired while I was back in France, so I couldn't get a 3rd one.

Thanks for your answer Yes it would be a non-o visa based on retirement (above 50 yo) When I first got a Non-o Visa in 2018, I got my first (and second) extension using the income method. Do you mean the rule changed ? At that time (2018) I got my Non-O visa in France

Hello, The link seems to be no longer valid. I guess the evidence of income is still accepted, right ? I thought a visa could be obtained only from outside of Thailand. I had a year extension based on non-o but I could not come back to Thailand before its expiration in april 2021, so I have to start again the whole process in order to come back, probably in november. Yes, I can upload an insurance certificate both in french and english stating that amount in euros, including Covid-19. So many people worry about the cost of insurance that I was thinking this free Visa Premier insurance might not be accepted.

As for me, I first opened my bank account in 2018 at Bangkok Bank in Bangkok with no visa at all. My account was restricted : no iBanking, no Mobile Banking, but it was enough for me (ATM Card only was Ok for me). My passport and a letter from my embassy were the only things they asked for (not sure they even asked that letter) When I got later a Non O Visa, then all these restrictions were lifted.

I think that this decision came too late. Most people already planned their summer holidays and so did I. I will not go to Thailand during the rainy season, will go to Greece this summer and may be to Thailand in november.

The contrary for me a test on arrival and a one-night hotel stay is much more a deterrence to travel for me than Thailand Pass (incl. insurance) . I don't want to be quarantined or go to hospital if I am seated in the plane near a positive traveler, or if I get positive myself without any symptoms. I got covid in France, having 3 Pfizer shots, but without any symptoms and was negative 1 week later.
