"As of November 21, the CDCTrusted Source has confirmed 2,290 vaping related lung injury cases, with 47 deaths"
https://www.healthline.com/health-news/lung-vaping-disease-now-called-evali
Your welcome.
This number is for illegal THC vapes, not e cigarettes as you think, it has nothing to do with normal e liquids. I don t think you checked your source or you don t understand what we are talking about.
By the way, even if this number was real which is not, take alook at this from the CDC, you are more than welcome:
https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/fast_facts/index.htm#diseases
- Worldwide, tobacco use causes more than 7 million deaths per year.2 If the pattern of smoking all over the globe doesn’t change, more than 8 million people a year will die from diseases related to tobacco use by 2030.3
- Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day.1
- On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.4
- If smoking continues at the current rate among U.S. youth, 5.6 million of today’s Americans younger than 18 years of age are expected to die prematurely from a smoking-related illness. This represents about one in every 13 Americans aged 17 years or younger who are alive today.1

Personally, I don't care about the Sinovac vaccine one way or the other, as I've already had my two doses of AZ via the Thai government's vaccination program for expats.
However, my Thai wife has refused the opportunity to get the Sinovac vaccine via the government's vaccine program because her mother upcountry doesn't like it. And when I asked the wife what the mother had seen about Sinovac, the wife's response was that the mother had been viewing Thai youtube and social media videos claiming people had bad reactions to Sinovac.
Now, I personally don't reconsider Thai social media reports to be particularly credible on these kinds of topics, nor does the real science support that kind of stuff. However, none of that stops ill-informed or poorly-informed Thais (or even people of other nationalities!) from basing their personal vaccination decisions based on social media nonsense.
If I had to make the decision still, based on what I know from credible science, I'd try instead to get two shots of an mRNA vaccine like Moderna or Pfizer solely for being more effective against the Delta variant than Sinovac... that is, if I had any such choices in the matter.
And not because of any social media vaccine reaction nonsense or anti-Chinese sentiment relating to the Sinovac vaccine.
And FWIW, my wife just today put in her 3300b payment for two doses of the Moderna vaccine thru a private hospital in BKK that are supposed to be delivered before the end of the year. So, she put her money where her mouth is, paying for Moderna instead of taking the free Sinovac doses offered by the government.
You are right, most of the anti sinovac claims seem again to be based mostly on misunderstanding on how vaccines work and anti chinese sentiment which is very high here on tvf. I myself am not in a hurry to get a vaccine as i work online so I m waiting for MRna vaccines, but if I had a lot of interactions with others for my job or social life, I would take it now and maybe wait for a booster in the future. It protects you again death from covid which is the main reason to take the vaccines.

Blame the organization which provides a 40% commission incentive to police personally on funds and items confiscated in drug busts. How can you expect to maintain an honest police force and justice in these conditions?
They still owe him 400 million baht.

In France people only accept moderna and pfizer or do not vaccinate, they have a brain there ! and still, many still refuse any vaccine !
so yes, embassy is better than many other countries, but still, they consider expats as african...
I m ok to be considered as african, how about you? Get back on earth and explain me why you deserve better than africans. You are lucky arrogance doesn t kill!

Right. Because chronic pot smokers are known to be highly industrious and absolutely brilliant. Just ask all the hippies sitting up in the hills in Himachal Pradesh. Bloody geniuses each one.

No, chronic pot smokers are not known to be highly industrious and brilliant.
No one gives a Fk about the hippies sitting up those hills.
And that does still not make it true that Everybody free to smoke but it does make you stupid and lazy, it just deflects a little bit.

I believe everyone should have the freedom to smoke as much weed as that want legally. I'm simply saying it makes a person stupid and lazy.
You can repeat it as many time as you want, it does not make it true.

Chronic marijuana smokers are losers. Their brain is fogged and they have zero ambition.
I recall a PSA many years back. Some 30 something getting high in a dimly lit, messy room. Makes some comment about ...naw, tomorrow. Then you hear a mother's voice calling him to dinner. The camera pans back....he's living in the basement. Exactly.
Sorry if the truth stings a bit.
Easy to have made $$$ selling weed over past decades. No genius their it was ILLEGAL.
No that is not true.
And you are saying different things, on your first post you said Everybody free to smoke but it does make you stupid and lazy. and now you talk about chronic use.
My guess is that you don t like cannabis and you have no clear idea about what you are talking about. You use a random personal experience you had and some cliches to prove your biased opinion. It s ok that you don t like cannabis and you don t want it legal but it is getting harder just to spray BS about it nowaday.
Chronic marijuana smokers are losers. Their brain is fogged and they have zero ambition. Really, that is your argument? It does not sting at all, that is just not true!

Anyone know the alcohol percentage they are spraying? Less than 70%, it's useless.
I think they are smart enough to know that they must spray 70% alcohol from the drone to have a good efficacy, COVID will be eradicated from the spayed area and they will all finally be safe ????

That is not true, most expats are not retired, that s only your perception. Most expats work here. a lot of asians ( japanese, chinese etc .. .) work here.

Considering the reality that 80% of the prison population are there for non-violent drug use -not dealing just use- then maybe banging people up for using substances that are scientifically proven to be less dangerous than alcohol, and yes, even *that* one is less dangerous than alcohol, if supplied and regulated like alcohol, because the Science and the Lancet say so; then the entire country would be a lot happier and healthier.
If 80% of the prison population are drug users, then the message is:
1. A lot of people like illicit drugs.
2. Jail doesnt seem to deter them much!
3. Stupid and inhumane laws = jail overcrowding that is now coming back to bite them on that part of their anatomy where the "authorities" seem to keep their brains.
I m surprised to see such a good post here, I agree 100% with you, stupid drug laws are the cause of mass incarceration of non violent drug offenders, they should not be there at the first place, and yes alcohol and tobacco are some of the most dangerous drugs
I hope it s the first step for a more sensible policy based on science, not perception.

It shows the vaccine is significantly less effective than previous data suggested - barely over the 50% needed for regulatory approval.13 Jan 2021Your article is old, here s a recent one
From the article: The efficacy data of about 50% is for very mild disease, requiring no treatment. For infections requiring some medical intervention, it’s about 84% and for moderate-to-severe Covid cases, it’s 100%.

Really??? did you think at all ???? just a little bit.
Anyone in my car private is already in my ‘bubble’... Girlfriend, mistress, friend etc... they’ve been in my house etc...
but, thaichina, I do believe it is a good idea if you ask your hitch-hikers to wear their mask.
Awww.... should have worked a little harder at school !!!.... The ridicule is not targeting mask wearing in public. The ridicule is targeting a stupid policy of wearing a mask in our own car, it's as stupid has being told to wear a mask in our own homes.
This policy of mask wearing in our private vehicles is no longer on the fringes of common sense, its well along there on the spectrum of total dumb-fluckery !!!
Make it simple:
Open the door of your house, go out, wear your mask, then when you come back home, take off your mask. Is that simple enough rule?

Of course.... But its pretty easy to spot a taxi... Grab drivers will ask customers to wear a mask and given the current media fed hysteria and fear who is going to get into a Grab car without a mask anyway ?
Under the current rules my Wife and can I have have dinner with friends round their house, but we have to wear our mask in our own car when driving ourselves there.
I’m not against covid protection measures, but I’m against stupidity.
Tell me how a policeman can know that it is your wife in the car? Maybe that s why they made the rules like that. Also I have very hard time understanding the complains on TVF about masks wearing, just grow up.

Actually, people think it works in these countries because everyone knows they are very tough, but in Saudi arabia for exemple, they have a big drug problem, it also doesn t work but it makes a good show on TV everytime they need to show they do something...
Check this:

I am not saying it s good for you, I m saying it should not be banned.
It s not smoking, it s vaping, and it s not about kids who should stay away from it anyway, but adults who want to quit smoking. It s like for weed, everybody always talks about kids to try to ban it for adults, we are not kds.
