  1. Quick & easy Google result: A slang term for race cars that feature a roof and doors, as opposed to single-seater cars like Formula One.
  2. Thanks... I see good reviews for Dr Sawarut, and I live nearby in Kata so I visited them few days ago... Unfortunately the reception lady said they are full until next Tuesday (I booked it anyway, just in case), she also said their X-ray is broken, and recommended Phuket Town 'Cosmetic Dental Clinic', hm... Today I did checkup & X-ray in Kata Beach Dental Clinic, but I might go to this Karon clinic on Tuesday as well.
  3. Yep confirmed, he is Dr Panya, I've been there today on checkup & X-ray... I'll put my review here later on tonight (after the painkiller kicks in, eh...).
  4. Yeah that's the guy from the reviews. So actually he is Dr Panya? If yes, then I'll try to get to him today (my appointment is late afternoon).
  5. Thanks... Yeah I prefer that guy (all patients looks so happy with him in Google reviews photos lol)... So *he* is actually Dr Panya? I'm not familiar with Thai male/female names... Yesterday I asked that lady "are you Dr Panya" and she said "yes" ???? Maybe misunderstood, they were in a rush after closing time...
  6. Thanks, it's interesting as I live in Kata... They got great reviews... I visited them today to book appointment (exam. & x-ray only) for tomorrow... Interesting, they quoted 2x lower prices compared to their website... Which doctor you prefer there? On Google reviews I see photos of older male doctor... but today there was a lady (Dr Panya).
  7. Hi all, as the title says, looking for good dentist recommendation in Phuket... It's time to update this subject, as I saw earlier threads are very old (and also because I had bad toothache over the weekend, took a lot of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol to calm it down). Might need more serious / surgical procedure on one molar (recessed gum & exposed root, inflamed and painful), but I'll do general check up too, 1-2 fillings, and cleaning (regular or deep)... Needles to say - I'm absolutely terrified of dentists ???? I searched online and found couple of dental clinics with good reviews (Patong: Sea Smile, Dental Signature, Cube... Phuket Town: Dent Central...), at first I zeroed on Sea Smile, but then I saw few bad reviews (and for Cube Dental too), which put me off... Dent Central has mostly good reviews, I passed by their shop in Central mall, but it seems tiny (reception) and it's in the mall, so I'm not sure... Dental Signature has all good reviews... Bangkok Hospital is probably very good - and very expensive (although their published prices are not so much higher comparing to others mentioned above?). Looking for personal experiences with any of the above, and also with any other dental clinics in Phuket that you recommend, thanks in advance! P.S. I made this price-list comparison in Excel (attached photo) if anybody is interested, hope this thread will help other toothache comrades too ???? (tomorrow I'll visit some of the clinics and update this list) Cheers, Alex
  8. P.S. (I didn't do anything with 2nd paragraph, but it shows up bold)
  9. It occasionally shows up on unselected sentences or paragraphs after sending, seen them in other posters too... Next time I'll make screenshot and post it to a proper forum section, no problemo ???? Back to the subject, I don't think OP should be worried, that's how things work in LOS, just make sure the agent is legit.
  10. P.S. will Aseannow ever fix that bold font error? I don't think it's rocket science...
  11. Hi there, from my (and my friends) experience, that's just how it works, yes it's stressful to wait in the dark, but at the end it works out well... I just had ED 90d done, I was biting my nails past 4 weeks, each other day arguing with agent who didn't give me any update except "be patient, it's all ok, you worry too much, this is how it works"... they were right. You just need to confirm with agent *when exactly* immigration started processing ED visa (meaning, they already got school approved) - before or after current extension stamp... If before, then it's all clear... If after, then I/O will officially fix your overstay (500/day, stamped in the passport), this was my case, since I applied late (due to previous bad agent kept my passport 1 month and failed to make Covid extension). If you worry about police checks, ask your agent to send you the receipt, so you can feel safe while waiting. Lesson learned: next time I'll use better and more transparent agent... and yeah, after the summer in Europe, I'll be back with brand new and empty passport ????
  12. Back to the subject, would it be better for OP if he came in with new passport... could I/O see his old ED visa in the computer? Not sure what the system exactly shows, apart from each entry & exit... Or if I/O could see it, would he make a fuss about it the same as when he saw it in the passport... any thoughts?
  13. Absolutely yes, I did it for my parents 4-5 times, no problem at all.
  14. Did @Barry Morris make things harder for you, or was it the Immigration who was scheming with agents? (and they will continue doing that until the end of time) Ridiculous...
  15. Singapore is open, there are cheap VTL flights from BKK to SIN, and you can also check Cambodia as previous post said... You have to leave anyway so just go there and try, if you succeed in getting Thai Pass then I don't think immigration will make problem on arrival, didn't see those reports now (like before Covid). By the way, did you check other (non-Phuket) agents for your extension?
  16. Sorry I really have no idea why AseanNow is doing these bold font paragraphs on it's own, looks ugly and they should fix that, I saw it in other people's messages too... (in this quoted text it's not bold, but if you look at my original message you'll see my meaning.
  17. I agree with the government run businesses, although I must say the Post offices in my area (Kata & Karon, Phuket) are reliable and efficient, and staff were always delightful (from my personal experience), especially EMS. Kerry always gets my vote for receiving the goods, because they always call before delivery. For sending, I prefer EMS because Post office is 1 minute from my condo... One time I tried Kerry app for pickup booking, they absolutely failed on all levels (I called their CS, which is abroad, they even couldn't see confirmed booking in the system, then local CS called me and we canceled the booking, and then 3 hours later Kerry guy was in my lobby to pick up the 'canceled' shipment (which I've sent with EMS 3 hours ago, eh...), I uninstalled the app... Kerry is Chinese now, SF bought them, not to say their service will get worse, because SF is actually pretty efficient in HK & China, but... that Belt and Road thingy is creeping in, slowly and everywhere... (Darth Vader 'Imperial March' theme now playing in the background, lol)
  18. Thanks guys, I used EMS at Post office 1pm, next day delivery Phuket to BKK 50thb, great service and very polite staff.
  19. Hi all, I guess this is visa related, as I need to send my passport from Phuket to Bangkok to make a visa, but Kerry refused according to their policy. Any recommendations on other domestic couriers (or EMS) from any of you guys who did it before? Thanks!
  20. Looks like AIS doesn't have 10mbps unlimited 1 year? Only True and Dtac...
