The Westerdams passengers were mainly " Farang " from Germany, Canada, and Holland.
Yes but it also had 19 Thai passengers who had to go into quarantaine when they came from the ship.

Do you want them to pop round to your hotel when you've freshened up and recovered
from your long flight?
You didn't read well...you think i live in a hotel while i'm married with a thai? We have a villa for that.
And yes they have been here at home to check EVERYTHING....after we had to show loads of things on photo to them, bring neighbours to get interviewed by them and much more.
But to make it all simple, they should (and do) check every tourist before they issue them a visa...but even the embassies ALL have different rules....the ones in Laos issue multiple non-o's without any proof of income, while the others want to see bankstatements and more proof of income.
It's just a big mess...

That one will work but is very dangerous..i had those as well..the plastic can break easy but also the thai connector (when fitted) will leave some bare metal which can be easy touched by any person....it is under 220 volt...
I would buy a good connector, cut the old one of the wire and replace it for that good one.

The MORON asked me what I was doing during my visit in Thailand. I think my face told him everything he needed to know concerning what I thought of him. An absolute moron. That what you get when you spend most of your working life pretending that you are smarter than is actual.
That's the whole issue here, those officers think they're quite something but the fact that they're doing that job tells enough about their education and wealth.
I think they're just after some cash to 'speed things up'.....but where i come from that's absolutely not done and i also refuse to bribe anybody at all...i made all my money legally, they already checked that at their embassy so why do they have to harass me?
But to tell you guys, it will get much worse if you marry a thai and want to get a long term visa...just saying. They will check you many many times, you'll have no privacy left, they will even come to check your bedroom to name something.

I have been questioned by immigration when travelling into the U.S. And while such situations are never fun, the fellow that questioned me was polite, not angry and very professional.
I always had to jump through loads and loads of hoops to get my multiple non-o...and then when i arrive the angry io-lady always askes me if i am going to work in thailand...i just say no and then she will ask me what i will do here and if i have enough money...to get my non-o i already have shown them loads of cash and i have plenty in my pocket as well.
I'm not poor at all and just hate it when they treat me like i'm a criminal...they can check anything on me, fine do it, but after a long flight i just want to get stamped in.

They've dug their own grave here and this is the 'perfect storm' type of situation which will be their undoing.
I read in the European newspaper that after China now Thailand is the most dangerous place for this virus....so the Europeans will find a better place for their holidays, for now and for coming years .

I like the people, but I still get the willies every time I'm at a group function and there's a guy across the table coughing and hacking, then dipping his chopsticks into the community bowl we're all eating from. That's the custom, and if you don't eat from the shared dishes, you go hungry. I don't care if it's exotic food or not. It's not hygienic, and I guaranty you that it played a huge role in the rapid spread of the coronavirus.
Then you'll be hungry in Thailand as well, Thai groups do exactly the same and in most restaurants the dishes which are for the whole group even don't have a serving spoon....
Then i try to be smart and order dishes for myself but before i can get some of it the other guys already took the best parts out of it with their own chopsticks or forks.

He didn't see them! ceases to amaze me what Thai drivers do see when they are driving.
Many Thai have no idea why their car has hazard lights or even indicators...So it's sure possible.
Why not drive the car with the flat tyre to a more safe place? Oh wait, i forget i'm in Thailand....

Dogs shouldn't be allowed in whole Thailand since they can't take care of them at all...maybe 5% of the dog owners walks it, the rest has to sit in the garden all day long without any attention or correction.

Pattaya is a city with the constant infrastructure construction and upgrades that other, similar-sized cities the world over require. Digging up roads to do this is a necessity, just as it is everywhere else in the world. I don't see this expansion and ultimate long-term improvement as being the problem here. It's the lack of proper planning for traffic management and the lack of involvement by the police in that management. TiT.
Do they also have to replace the whole drainsystem in other city's every few years???
Where i am from we did that once 50 years ago and they are still fine...
