  1. I got my tax identification number/TIN. In around 20 minutes. Bring the copies required.
  2. I think so. They tax our interest directly with 15 %, I probably got it back ... ... and had to fill another form. 😆 You undoubtedly can go deeper into the tax law here, and that makes sense if you expect to pay a higher amount to the kingdom. As for me, this amount was fully acceptable to close this case that caused concern among farang here for so many months.
  3. My health insurance is Thai. My pension or my income --- no question was asked, they did not want any definition. Only the amount of money transferred to Thailand from a foreign country, listed in the bank statement, was essential. They somehow took into account the intest on my Thai bank account. I mean --- 1,431 Baht and that's it... I did nothing else but accepting.
  4. My second visit today at Jomtien Tax Office. Bank statement is needed. Health insurance is deductible. Many forms, many signatures. The Kingdom charged me a tax of 1,431 Baht. I immediately accepted and paid. Case closed, see you next year.
  5. I made another transfer with WISE these days. As many times before: I keep on being very satisfied with the service of WISE. No complaints.
  6. Nakhonchair Air has its station in Pattaya, Sukhumvit, very close to Klang, southbound. My last trip with NCA Pattaya to CMai was extremely long, extremely cold and, due to the styling of their seats, with very little space to stretch the legs.
  7. Omeprazol and similar are very strong. Blocking stomach acid. Should not be taken for long long time. Try Famotidin or Cimetidin -- on sale now after Ranitidin gone, reducing stomach acid (which you need each and every day), not so strong. In your pharmacy.
  8. For me: Nakhonchaiair no more. Arctic cold in the bus for many hours, more than 13 hours from Chiang Mai to Pattaya, and the design of their seats makes it unable to stretch the legs. I better go through Mochit, changing the bus to Pattaya.
  9. With 261 square kilometres (101 sq mi) of territory, and roughly 50,000 inhabitants, St. Kitts and Nevis is the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, in both area and population, as well as the world's smallest sovereign federation.[1] ... quoted from wikipedia
  10. I can report positive reactions only. Respect when they figure out, for example, that you use the correct Thai plural structure. In some cases uncertainty when I approach someone - and a bright smile when I speak a few sentences in Thai !
  11. I confirm this highly inefficient procedure when applying for the re-entry permit in Jomtien. I had times with not more than ten minutes waiting for this. No one can explain why they do not give the passports back when three or four have been processed.
  12. There is a Bus or Minibus connection from Ekamai to Aran, to the border point. I crossed the border, waited in Poipet from around 3 pm to 6 pm and took the evening bus to Siem Reap. They have coffeeshops and restaurants along the main street. Thai trains. Yes. Once in your lifetime, but it is not real exciting in my eyes They have - or had? - direct flights from Bangkok to Siem Reap.
  13. Foot massage - now always 60 minutes, sometimes even more. Before Covid, I noticed they went down to 45 minutes or even less. Pay less, a Thai friend said to me when I complained about this...
  14. I tought about entering the Kingdom of Thailand with a passport of the Principality of Seborga. Quite an interesting but tiny place, in the very northwest of Italy. How would the Thai Immigration Officer react when not finding Seborga in his database? But certainly, I prefer avoiding any trouble here and refrain from executing this strange idea...
  15. Go to a dentist and make a panorama x-ray. I did it, and the dentist told me than on one side my jaw the muscle has to work harder than on the other side. I have no problem with it, but according to the dentist, this can cause several things starting from headache. I suggest that a qualified dentist should be your first contact. Not all of them make panorama x-ray.
  16. Whenever available, I book Green Bus. They have kind of a business class: 3 seats per row in the first rows, the rows behind have 4 seats. They seem to operate mainly in Northern Thailand.
  17. The minivan started from the intersection of South Pattaya Road and Sukhumvit (northbound, next to the gas station and the pedestrian bridge) when I made the trip to Siem Reap through Aranyaprathet one year ago. They have a small office there, everyone will help you when you ask for Aran. The ride was close to six hours as the minivan went through several small towns, but it took you for 300+ Baht directly to the border checkpoint. - The trip was okay, but it was not a VIP bus, just the normal one. - Once you crossed the border, you can take the evening bus to Siem Reap (and take a one dollar win to bring you to a restaurant or cafe to spend the waiting time close to the bus departure point). It is a sleeping bus which I booked online and not too comfortable for my farang size, but good for the distance to Siem Reap. (When arriving there, I had to rush to the driver and remind him to stop and let me out, as he was already through the city center and seemed to forget me ...)
  18. Had to do the same verification process these days. Went smoothly.
  19. I hate the insersection of Thappraya and Thepprasit, Jomtien. And nearby. How on earth can they make such a big crossing without pedestrian red lights?? On this very place, Thailand is strongly back in time, dangerous for all.
  20. Of course in THB.
  21. Another visit today. Came out angry. Re-Entry permit used to be a 10-minute-thing. Today I waited 80 minutes, saw eerie things, staff (take more than 100 USD for this stamp...) doing nothing but eating etc.
  22. That's it. Much better than before, but note that it is low season now. No visit, as almost always, without a problem. They insist now on passport photos with the person in front of a white background. Needed to do new ones, had no problem in previous years.
  23. See a doctor if you are not on a super low budget. Purple skin in my case. "Oh, you have infection..." She gave me a cream, problem solved. PIH.
