If it weren't for blueberries, few Thais would want to go to Finland.

I worked there one winter and what a miserable place. maybe it's a cultural thing, but their direct communication style makes most Thais think they are downright rude.

Because Thais dont understand direct communication, you know !, saying what you mean in a straight forward manner.

While there is obviously more to the Thai economy than tourism, it certainly wouldn't hurt to start building it back up again.

Start accepting verifiably fully-innoculated visitors from countries that, thanks to mass vaccination, have achieved the "Zero Covid" status of less that 100 infections per day per million of population. Planes carrying only vaccinated passengers and crews represent no biological hazard to the people of Thailand. Today, that would be Israel, Malta, Iceland, Gibraltar, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Albania. By June it will be the UK, by July the US. By early 2022 it will be most of the EU.

As an emergency measure to kickstart thing, announce a return to the simple, welcoming, low-friction visa system and attitude they had before the coup happened and the junta did their damndest to kill the golden goose. In fact, just wave everyone from visa waiver countries in with a 12-month stamp. Sure, if they cause trouble or take a job that a Thai could do, kick them out, but the focus right now should be on getting people to come and not handing regional competitors, such as Vietnam, a golden opportunty to leapfrog Thailand.

Nobody wants to come to a delapodated country where no one has been vaccinated.

I've never heard of anyone skipping a class. The only thing I've seen was kids starting 1st grade a year earlier, and that's not very common either.

As for puberty - I don't think that's a big problem. I've seen 3rd grade girls which are very much developed and 6th grade kids that look like very little girls. I think Thai society is very open minded to differences. I've seen retarded kids both in a regular kindergarten and a regular school and seems the other kids just accept them as they are.

Hahahahahha.......retarded kids....I got berated for saying that at work a while ago.

Glad im not the only one who hasn't gone all P.C .

By the way, I was told it was....special needs kids........still retards in my book.

A very small drop into a very large bucket that needs to be filled.  But, hey, not nothing.  Where's America's donation???!!!  Come on America, get with the program and create some good will for a change.

Why should anyone donate, Thailand should get its own house in order.

It's not just people. Eventually that girl probably would have had her pets attacked by someone's dog. She's living in fantasy land if she thinks its safe to bring those animals down the streets. It's almost pet abuse.

In Thailand, now we have a horde of mostly young 'woke' Thai people who think that all the problems in America are so bad and racism is everywhere and they want people in the US to change. None of them look at the problems here and the abuse of animals and xenophobia.

Exactly. As soon as a Thai abroad has a mishap the country is up in arms.

If it were an American in Thailand, total silence.

Thailand to me seems to be dragging it's feet over getting everybody vaccinated, whats the problem?

Got to make sure they buy the vaccine from the right manufacturer so said manufacturer can be the saviour of the people.

Wouldn't want a foreign supplier to steal the thunder when it can be attributed to the locally produced brand.

Meanwhile, destroy the country for a bit of propaganda
