Yes, but my visa will run out before i leave. I didn't expect it will only be 3 months. Twice i have been curtailed in plans to get to Thailand. Once because i could not get a PCR test anywhere in the UK (even privately) in the alocated time. The second now, because Emirates have cancelled flights.

Then you need to revisit the embassy. Perhaps you can get on an official repatriation flight.  These are very under utilized.

Xenophobia ??? really...   It always makes me laugh how westerners don’t get what they want they pull a racist / xenophobia card.....

In reality, the Op was likely rejected because the staff didn’t know what to do, hence the ‘cannot’ as the ‘go to’ response for lazy idiots.

Contacting the head office won’t make much difference - they’ll require a work permit. The Op needs a branch which will interpret the regulations with a favourable degree of flexibility - its fortunate that Thailand is sufficiently ‘non-xenophobic’ for there always to be a away for us Westerners in such circumstances.

Op: Just try the next branch down the road - That has always been the advice when opening a bank account in Thailand and facing a stumbling block.

You are talking bull. I have personal experience  of everything I mentioned over the last 25 years.

  3. Always contact the bank head office by e-mail and report these things as they are not law or bank policy. You are a victim of ignorance  or xenophobia but probably both. I have Kasikorn bank accounts and credit card: I have never been asked for a work permit. Generally you get much better services at main branches. An area will have a main branch and quite a few smaller branches under it.

  4. Not Smoking and palpitations are not related. Nicotine  actually  causes your symptoms & anything caused by nicotine withdrawal will be over in a maximum of three months. People say smoking relaxes them because they are taking deep breaths & taking slow deep breaths is calming.

I have difficulty sleeping when just laying there as my mind is overly active at times so I watch tv, listen to books, the radio or thunderstorms on youtube. These things distract the mind helping you to relax and you just wake up later.

Where did you get "3 months" from? You should get a permanent license plate in less than a month. I just bought a new Mazda CX30 and got a new plate in 2 weeks.

The red plate is issued by the dealer where you buy the car and should come with a registration book. The new plate comes to the dealer and you turn your red plate and book when the dealer puts on your permanent plate.

You can get personalized plates in Thailand but they are EXPENSIVE.

    Our personalised plates cost 2000b

You get that in Pattaya too, last year there was this bogan character who showed me how to cut someone's throat, I could barely understand his English. Then there's the barfly types who bang on, the worse ones try to brag about money, I change the subject quick and they get deflated

The girls attract fantasists from all over the world.
