  1. I am a licensed Ham operator with a Thai radio amateur license HF-VHF. So I know what I am talking about. The answer on you questions is NO.

You need a license for all kind of radio transmitters, even a PMR or Walky Talkie. In case they catch you I don't come to visit you in jail. I know cases been catched.... don' t want to replace them. So one advise: DON'T DO IT !!!!

  2. A question starting with: 'A friend' .... I always have doubts about it. This 'Friend' cannot write or read himself?

Would like to see how this 'friend' completed the application form to give you an answer. All of this looks just as a combination of a mix of an application as Retired and Married with Thai woman. So not possible as it is the one or the other.

The only thing I can guess is: the former application and extension was as retired and the present one as married. In this case Immi wants to check you fulfilled the conditions on your former extension, 3 months after extension still had the 400K on the bank or income all year every month of 65K and now, as married, fulfill  the conditions as married, so with the presents of your Thai wife, with pictures ........

  3. Retired , staying year out year in on a tourist visa: yes, this will be the advantage on staying in Thailand with the wrong visa. Now people, having a visa, made by some agents, not able to have the correct one with year extension because not fulfilling the immigration financial rules, now they will complain and blame Thailand again and again. Get the write visa and and do what you have to do.

  4. You have wrong information: on Koh Samui trhere is all you need concerning farang shops, bars, good massages..... Makro's Big C, Tesco Lotus ..... EVERYTHING. Going shoppin at Surat Thani? Do you have an idea how long it takes to go there?

Prices at Koh Samui are higher as CM as you are on an island.

  5. The rules are very clear and did not change at all: you have to keep the 800K 3 months after receiving your DEFINITE stamp of extension of stay. After you can drop till 400K. Most Immi offices don't control at the next 90d report what doesn't mean you are free to take the risk to ignore or not fulfill this rule as at your next extension application they certainly will check it. In case you did break  this rule they can refuse your new extension. It is all clear in case you can read.

  6. Yes, the will has to be written in Thai language and it is the only version what is legal. If not it shall have to be translated to Thai language by a legal translator. A will always goes by court in Thailand. In the will, you better specify the specifications of the account: bank name, owner of the account, number to not have discussions later.

  7.  I am getting angry and that obviously doesn't help either.
Getting angry is the best thing you can do to be sure you will have no cooperation at all anymore and will be send away. Go on like this and you risk to be send away, next time you go, again. Don't forget: They are the boss and not you.
