You claim living 30 years in Thailand. And after 30 years you still don't know where to live, how Thai people will treat you. Or don't know it is possible to integrate into a local community? ......... It even looks like you even don't know how far is Pattaya or Hua Hin away from Bangkok......
So I ask myself what you have done during this 30 years of living in Thailand so you do have to ask that question here.

I don't know where they get this prices. Here where I stay, a non Farang touristic place with a very nice beach, we pay, at the beach in a restaurant-bar, 80THB for a small beer (Chang-Leo) and 120THB for the big bottle. We even have a beer bar were we pay only 40THB small and 65THB big bottle. I don't know were in Belgium I can drink a 33cl beer for less than 4Euro in a bar at the beach. The places I am talking about don't have 'garniture' with what I mean: don't have bargirls to help you drinking your beer.

No compassion at all. Investing money in something what is complete illegal??? How stupid can you be? 10% return must make you think if you have a brain.

For those calling the Immigration requirements extreme or over the limit: this study confirms it is not at all. The requirement of having an income of 65.000TH/m is a real need to live a comfortable life as farang in Thailand. It is more or less what I need every month to live the way mentioned in the article. You can live as a cheap charlie but I have the meaning you did not immigrate to Thailand to make 5 steps back in your way of living you were used to do in your home country.

There are many mini buses from Buriram to Korat.... never heard of it? If you really wants it very cheap you also can walk.... will ot be the most fast way to do but CHEAP.

One thing I don't agree with and ask myself why you did it:
you connect the N (neuter) with the earth.
KEEP the Bleu and the Green wires complete separated in the main box, just as you did in the secondary boxes !!!!

A question starting by "I ask for MY FRIEND...." better would be: I ask this for MYSELF. Who do you think can give a correct answer on a question as this one? All depends on the lifestyle of YOUR FRIEND. I case he has no income, he would need a hell a lot money to keep his trousers up for maybe more than 30 years.

I live in Chumphon, out of the city. Till yesterday evening I did not see anything else as I saw before. Everything was open as usual and also didn't hear about a quarantine. Chumphon is 'red zone' because it has borders with a high infected province and with Myanmar, not because a high number of infections.

I use it for many many years yet. Flemish Carbonades (boiled in dark beer), Goulash .... all made in the slow cooker ..... a fast cooker (under pressure) I don't like.... it goes fast but it is all steamed and the taste is not what it should have to be.

Reading the reactions some people are already dancing on the table .... for what? There is nowhere written amnesty has been extended yet.... it's only a rumor, nothing more, so don't count on it yet.

I also don't understand the comments of certain people here. Had 6 months to do what they had to do but..... no they didn't. Now they are complaining and put the blame on Thailand. You are a tourist and a tourist is not supposed to stay for years, if you do, you are not a tourist at all and you are here on the wrong visa.... is this so difficult to understand?

Those people what has been clever enough they made the 90d report during the amnesty just as they did before....but I know, for some people everything they have to do is to much... now they have to run run run.....

What are you hoping for? To stay 6 months more without a correct visa?
This will be the final amnesty, those what had to leave they had time enough to do so. There is NO EXCUSE anymore. Just do what you have to do, if you cannot..... just go.

YES I agree 200%.
I live for years in Thailand and now, I feel very very safe here, just as I did before. The country did it EXCELLENT and I had not one problem at all with the way they did it. I could live my life the way I was doing before and I don't live in the middle of nowhere in the Isaan but in the middle South.

Multiple entry visas are for people who are not supposed to live in Thailand !
Now they have a situation where they can enforce this quite easily.
It is not about whether you like it or not ... right now there seems to be no other option !!!
Just get the right visa

A deposit never can be used as RENT money. Not here in Thailand and also not in your home country. You should have to know this. If you don't pay the rent, yes he can kick you out.

Don't worry, the other neighbor countries will follow soon with equal requirements. They just want to get rid of the people staying for years with the wrong visa as TV-ME, Non O-ME, so the border-and visa runners. Covid is a good reason to get rid of them and to force them to get the right visa with the financial requirements. Now they just jump over the border, spend nothing and they are gone for another 3 months.....That last, the financial requirements will be a problem for many.

Here, in the South, most along the coast, wooden houses were replaced by brick:
-first after the Tropical Storm HARRIET in 1962.
-second after the Typhoon GAY in 1989
Most all wooden houses along the cost, even several km inside the country had been destroyed and were rebuild in brick build houses.

AndyAndyAndy,
you don't tell us what means 'normal life' to you. Possible you are one of them: waking up around 09.00, starting by drinking a big Leo or Chang, keeping on drinking till you fall a sleep after noontime. At 17.00 start drinking again till you fall a sleep again.... when having no beer anymore sending your wife to the shop to buy new. At night, in case you wake up, some Hong Tong bring the sleep back.......
In this case you don't have to change your life at all, Corona will not kill you and you have a very little chance to be infected. Something else will kill you.........after your normal life

don't blame your wife, just blame yourself. Try to understand another culture before making such a conclusions. You are the only one to blame.

A study showed 80% of the Thai motorbike drivers have NO LICENSE ..... so what is new? They know it very well as they know how many motorbikes has been sold and how many driving licenses has been issued.
