The Norwegian guy is married to a Thai back in Norway. I found both him and her on FB. My GF has no interest in him according to her. He was just someone who made her feel appreciated at moment of despair.

As she does not offer any future what so ever in terms of children, her own career or supporting my career. I'm paying lawyers big money for things she should be able to learn to handle, but there is no will from her side. Adding her betrayal makes it even more difficult. I have been living in Thailand for more than 12 years and she is probably the most beautiful girl i have ever seen, and i think it is her looks combine with here shyness, the non-fading passionate love and her respect for money that made me "trapped" in this relationship.

I will probably support her treatment financially, But i will keep my distance emotionally..... But that may kill her will or power to accept the treatment though as she will totally alon as she refuse to tell anyone.

She went to Bangkok Pattaya hospital yesterday and she emailed me the receipt after. In 7-days we will get the answer.

Looks like many are now complaining around Jomtien area..... Sophon seem to have fixed something now as since this morning i have got rocket speed in my line..... Paying for 4.0 / 0.512Mb...

This looks good but a bit pricy though... But with a Deductible on $1000 i can get the Vital benefits for $90 (2700baht) per month... Next step would be $155 (4600baht) per month but im not sure if i want to pay that much per month.

What do you guys think? It seams to cover more then Bupa and has a higher limit at 30 Million baht.

Thanks BlackPuddingBertha for your time and comments but it did not help much. 10% of 13Mbit is 1.3Mbit and i don't even get that even though I'm paying for 4Mb. That is the problem.

Wow.. That seems very expensive. Is Sophon your only choice? I pay 899 for 15M/1.5 TRUE cable internet and that includes 72 channels of tv. Even ADSL service can be had for less than that.

I paid 899 for true adsl 10/1 that I see in your list for 1990thb.

Are you happy with True? Do you actually get what they promises?

I'm actually looking at their 20/2 for 1299b. I have had some really bad experiences with True in BKK before. They was fast but NOT reliable and does not work so well with Skype. Maybe it is different here in Pattaya?

Sophon's internet SUCKS BIG TIME.... It is going down 5-10 times per day and during the last 3 month Speedtest to BKK avarages at 0.2 - 0.5Mbit out but i'm paying for 4Mbit. Ping time up to 800ms to bangkok many times... I have had their people here for 5-6 times and nothing changes.....

Sad as CAT was BY FAR the best internet in Bangkok.....

Is it possible to get a contract direct with CAT in pattaya without involving Sophon???

Did they change the box? (cant call it a router) because I just had the same problem, which was cured by changing the box yesterday, I pay for 10MB but can hit up to 13MB downloading torrents

Wow, 13Mbit, i wish i had 10% if that. They have change the small black box with 3 blue lights on it, twice and I'll start to think they just change it to make me feel like they are actually doing something. Some days it works just fine for some hours, then it can go days with ridiculous problems and then work fine again for a couple of hours.

A good day I'll get around 2mbit and I'm happy chap. But most of the time it is around 0.2 - 0.5. In Bangkok we had three lines in with loadbalancer 50/5 with True, 2/2 with CAT and a 4/0.512 from TOT. The CAT outperformed the other two in reliability BIG TIME. True was nice, when it worked, to download from, but impossible to Skype from. TOT was even more crappy then True in reliability and it was slow.

Which insurance is the best to cover the serious medical issues mentioned above without breaking the bank? I'm okay if i could pay like 3000 baht a month

I have a work permit since 2004 so im in a way covered, at least i'll let me to believe that anyway. - any comments?

I have looked over all of the options many times, and I have been with BUPA now for about 5 years. I have never had a claim, thank goodness.

But, I have read many threads like this one, and they all say the company pays when it is supposed to. This month, I am upgrading my insurance from 2 Million, to 5 Million, which is the best plan they offer.

By the way, the time to buy health insurance is when you do NOT need it and you are healthy. After you get sick, or come down with a disease, you might not be able to get health insurance, and if you do, it will not cover what you have.

The thing I do NOT like about BUPA’s plan is that it really does not cover “Out Patient Care” The maximum coverage that you can buy is 60,000, and at my age, which is 55 it cost 30,000.

The reason that this is a problem, is because some forms of cancer treatment are performed on “Out Patient Basis”, and they can be quite expensive.

If you are a non smoker, you really should consider getting a cancer supplemental policy in addition to BUPA’s regular policy, just to be safe. BUPA offers a cancer rider, but not for foreigners.

I found this other company Thai Health Insurance that does offer a cancer policy, but I am not sure if they cover foreigners. So, you are going to have to check it out.

It would cost a 43 year old for their 1 Million Policy about 31,000 a year.

I have never bought a health insurance before as i'm a Swed and there are all medial "for free" but paid by huge taxes. This will not cover my long time visit in Thailand though. When i read about the Thai insurance companies maximum coverages, it seams to be very low. Paying 35 000 a year for a maximum coverage of lousy 1.2 Mbaht. I mean, i read often about people getting multimillion bahts bills after some "minor" issue. I have some saved and could pay the 1.2millons my self, but not a 5-10millon medical issue... Maybe i have misunderstood the whole meaning of insurance companies maximum coverages??

Sophon Broadband has good and quick service/support but the speed is a JOKE... im paing for 4/0.512 and most of the time i get around 1/0.2 except for early morings i can get 3/0.4...

You're the only one of MANY reports about Sophon that is negative. Myself and many others I know are very happy with Sophon and have no such problems. If what you're saying is true, there's some technical anomaly that needs to be addressed. Sophon's service techs have always been very good at finding and fixing problems, so your claims are suspicious.

You can get CAT ADSL directly from CAT but it will cost you about 3 times what Sophon charges. Just call them or go to their office on South Pattaya road and you'll be up and running in a couple of days.

I got the Helmet today from Italy. Looks good and it fits perfect. 59 cm head so a Large was perfect. No trouble with the customs even as it was declared as 170 euro value. 170 euro = 6977 baht.

I ordered one white N43 Air from Ebay today. €160 plus €30 for the freight. I only had problem once of all the 20-25 times i have got something from abroad, both large and small packages so i think the risk is minimal.

you'll be more likely to get stopped because youre a farang on a big bike then riding it with plates from another province

out of all the times ive gotten stopped in thailand its never been about the plates ( they stop you from the front by blocking the road so if your going to be stopped ul be waved to the side before they would get a chance to read your plates )

What are the pros or cons to have a BKK bike in Pattaya? Will a BKK bike be more likely be stopped by the police for coffee/sangsom support money in Pattaya/Jomtien area?

I whould say that the Note has a 30% (29.83%) larger screen then S2 or 23% (22.97%) smaller if you want

I have followed Tony and Nikster in threads about Versys for the last 6 month.

Yes, i could buy them 2nd-hand but i think the price between 2nd-hand and new is too little to be worth it. It is easy worth 50-80k to get a brand new Versys. It looks like i "need" them both :-) So for the KLM250 i could consider a 2nd-hand later.

As i'm know my self, i will wait with the purchase till i get my new Swedish driving license in couple of weeks as i have lost the old one. And then with an international translation, people says i can get a Thai license without any schooling. Is that true?

I'm leaving Bangkok for Pattaya/Jomtien after 6.5 years in the smog and it would be nice to have a bike again.

I have been driving small and big bikes some month/years here and there but i would not say i'm an experient driver, not now anyway. Last i was driving was when I had a Honda Wave 125cc and a JRD Quest 125cc for 1.5years when living in Phuket 6.5 years ago.

Now to my Question:

I don't know which bike i want, actually i want them both. Kawasaki KLM250 for off-road and driving around the town, and a Kawasaki Versys for long adventure trips around Isaan and even further. But i cant really afford them both. If Thailand had the KLM450 in the same price range i would easy choose that one but they dont.

I have read that Versys is quite capable of some off-roading if changing tires to Pirelli MT60 but not even near as good as a pure dual-purpose bike like KLM250. I think i have already decided to go for the Versys but then it would be very nice to have a real off-road bike too. Okay, go for the KLM250 then, Yes, it is a nice play bike and would be prefect in and outside town.... But it is powerless and my rear would start to hurt after couple of hours in to a long trip.

I have been driving them both but still can't make a decision... Any ideas???
